Ok so yeah I mixed up Peter Weller (Robocop) and Peter Cullen (Optimus) I often mix them up 😂 gonna blame it on being Old and having 80s Brain Rot. Thanks for those who pointed out the mistake.
I already bought it. But I imagine its kind of designed to be discounted to $20 shortly. Yeah I can see how shooting and platforming sections during a race would be frustrating. Especially when your a target. I'm willing to give it a chance with the character variety, And I'm glad its not a live service. Even though the loot boxes, and character grinding imitate that experience.
Honestly, it would be significantly improved by one simple change - score total instead of race position being the determining factor when a race is finished. 1st place should yield more points than probably anything else, but they actually have points in the game when you do stuff, it's just that it all goes towards leveling up the current character with XP. The fighting sections should be important, but they're not, so slow characters have a big disadvantage because the only thing that matters at the end is if you finished the race first.
It's Outright - their output is largely licensed cashgrabs, but they tend to be a lot better than the old LJN stuff. The racing stuff is a ton of fun and reminds me of the Speed Racer PS2/Wii game and GripShift with the car-fu shunting.
A Transformers racing game is something that could work, but the robot mode needs to be something players can tactically use, not osmething forced in certain sections. E.g. players could only be able to lay traps in robot mode or there are shortcuts only this mode can reach to enter - something like that. The depressing part is, the moment I think of using the modes tactically and deliberately, a good game almost writes itself.
I like how you think Robocop should voice Optimus Prime. That being said. Found out aboot this game randomly and tried it with a used copy at Gamestop. Its not a bad game concept and there is certain brilliance tp a TF racing game. However the robot and vehicle mode being separate gameplay is not the best idea. Feels choppy. And like you mention the slow unlock is also burting the experience. Also lacking Jazz :(
Actually I did enjoy Transformers battlegrounds on both my PlayStation 4 and Nintendo switch and transformers earth spark expedition is really fun on the switch apart from the game freezing every 5 or 10 minutes

They had me at Transformers and lost me at racing game. Visually it looks good at least.
Oh no my game about robots that turn into cars is a car game?
Peter Cullen. Weller plays Robocop.
You are very Right LOL I always mix up the 2, 80s Brain Rot

Yeah, I was considering this game to play with my kid brothers, but nevermind. Thanks for letting me know about the grinding.

I am still being a bugga boo to Platinum Games for Devastation 2.

Yeah I pinned the mistake in the comments I always mix up those 2 names Peter Cullen and Weller 🤦♂️
@@MapleSyrupGamingandTech I saw your comment about it. I just find it pretty funny
Get Transformers Devastation instead
You can no longer buy it without pirating
@@osamaalk3477 Yes, yes. A wizard hand delivered my physical copy, did not buy it myself at all lmao.
@@osamaalk3477 you can still get it on disc
Ah. A Transformers racing game. Not for me for sure.
This was painful to watch on stream. Too many flaws in this game. Interesting concept, but a fail overall.
Man Transformers games have fell off since the cybertron duology and devestation
Actually I did enjoy Transformers battlegrounds on both my PlayStation 4 and Nintendo switch and transformers earth spark expedition is really fun on the switch apart from the game freezing every 5 or 10 minutes
It looks like a mobile game. Easy pass.
