We are wanting to know the exact weights and distribution, and Greg from Dubbo Correct Weight is the man to do the job. We talk about our expectations, and afterwards, the outcomes. We also discuss caravan chain lengths ...

Those cicarters were noisy as have a great Christmas thanks for sharing your trips 👍
Hi great video for caravaners. One question what brand and size is you foldable step ladder ?
It is a 3.2 metre telescopic ladder. Available online for under $100. Not sure of the brand, but there are a few options.
@@happycampersaustralia Thanks looks so handy for doing solar panels

Great video guys. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Can the guy get a word in ? Prett obvious comments .
Shhhh don’t tell anyone, especially the crooked government, they’ll take it away and start building housing for the boat people!!! 🧐🧐🤨🤨
Looks great - added to our next trip East! Thank you. 😃
Enjoy!
Hey travellers, I may be too late here, but have you called in at Wingham Brush? It’s a protected rainforest that houses a large colony of fruit bats. It’s right on the river, and there is free camping.
Thanks for the tip. We have visited in the past, love the bats, and we stayed at the free camp near the boat ramp (not sure if you can still camp there) We should visit again as we haven’t made a UA-cam video there. It could be an excuse to go back 😜
Glenn don’t think about the pool slip! 😂🙂
Haha 😂
Just up the road from my place. I must go for a day trip.
Taree council have done a great job. You will enjoy it 😃
Another fabulous episode guys . Always love the bird life . We have a few (Jabiru ) Black neck stork ,here in the far north . Beautiful elegant bird . 👍✌️
Thanks. They sure are beautiful birds!
Very nice looking like a great place to stay for a while
Sure is!
Thanks again 👍
Always welcome
You have informed me. Thanks so much for your well-put-together video. 👍
Thanks for watching
Looks like a nice place to add to the favourite camps. How is Santa going to find you guys?
He will find us ….. that’s if we have been “Nice” 😜
Great Vid.....
Thanks 😎
Well made. How come it says 9700 views but only 131 likes? Maybe the video is embedded in a website other than UA-cam?
We were in Lightning Ridge when I saw this video. We were supposed to go down the Darling to White Cliffs but rain was forecast. Thanks for posting this. You saved us an uncomfortable trip. We went to Parkes instead and will do the Darling in a year or two.
The Darling is a great trip, so please make sure you go back, but rain on that black soil is not fun. I’m glad we could be helpful, and I bet you still found lots to see with your changed plans. Safe travels!
It really is a once in a lifetime experience. Sounds amazing. Definitely not for the Faint hearted if your not a camper but looks like so much fun. Thanks for the awesome Video of your awesome adventure.
Thanks for watching! It is a great adventure.
Greg from Correct Weight - Dubbo is the best. Not only for weighing your car & van, but Greg offers towing courses as well. Greg takes the time to explain how to load your van and much more. Highly recommend all of Greg’s services. Correct Weight Dubbo , you won’t regret your decision to use this service 😊
Hi happy campers. We love your shows. It would be great to show the places you go to on a map so viewers can see and save for future references. Thank you keep the shows caming Doris and Robert
Thanks for the suggestion. We will keep that in mind 😃
Can you guys show us more of remote NT so we can live vicariously through you? I want to go to the NT so bad but am not going to be in any position to travel for quite a while (health and financial) It looks as though it’s a state like us in Qld where you could spend months there.
Why cut chains? Just set to required link, you need to add couple of hammerlocks to towbar points for mawby hooks red receiver
Normally we wouldn’t need to cut but chain as none of my shackles would fit through! Small links work with the Mawby Hooks
I found that both of my caravans were heavier than I expected them to be when I got them weighed. The first van needed some mods for an ATM increase and a new compliance plate. I also found that I was almost at my Ranger’s GCM with no passengers and the tub almost empty. When we emptied the van to sell it there was a lot of stuff that we didn’t need and this didn’t go into the new van. I now have an Isuzu NPS and with a van that weighs 3.6T I have capacity to spare. However when I weighed it the van was still several hundred kg more than I expected it would be. I think a professional weigh service is great - particularly if you are close to the limit or don’t know what the numbers mean. However, don’t let the cost be an excuse not to get your setup weighed. There are plenty of free or low cost weighbridges available. My local concrete recyclers will weigh you for free and many public weighbridge only charge a small amount - I was weighed in one place for $10.
We have used Go Weigh Weighbridge a number of times and for around $60.00 we also get the same read out you received. Pity you didn't let us know what you weights were .
Unfortunately the Go Weigh will not give you an idea on axle loadings and Left to Right loadings, just an overall weight.
@happycampersaustralia actually it gives a combined weight, individual weight of tow and caravan and axles weights. The only one It doesn't gives is side to side weights.
@@susanberry3760does it give tow ball weight?
Hey Glenn, watched your weigh video. Would love to know if you have GCM /GVM upgrade on Ranger and how much water on board the van. You don’t mention weights. You mentioned fully loaded van? We have a new Digger and about to have weighed and thinking full load of water and every thing will push us over. 🤷♂️
@@garybrown1526 yes it does
Weighed our set up today and with full tanks had 296kg ball weight and was 34kg over my vehicle gvm so we don’t have to move too much around, still have 400 left in the van.
Well done 👍
Hi guys, we enjoyed your episode. We are currently in the process of getting a Lovell's suspension upgrade, we have just bought a new Ford Ranger Platinum, which will give us 4 tonne and we're also getting a BTC upgrade by Lovell's with a Brake towing capacity of 4 tonne. Our combined GCM will be 8 tonne which was originally 6400. Our caravan will be an Urban Xtreme which will be about the same size and possible around the same weight as yours. We are getting built, so we don't have it yet. We are putting a Concept Canopy of the back of the Ranger as well. Just thought we'd share 😄 Happy travelling, Happy Campers xx
Hi guys, Lovells upgrades go to 3.7t not 4.0, unless something has changed very recently.
@happycampersaustralia yes correct, we will be the first ones with the new upgrade 😉 we have been talking to Lovell's for quite some time, waiting until we could have this.
Good news!
Hi guys, wanted to update you on our situation. Since we commented previously, we have had our car at Lovell's for over a month now waiting for the newest of upgrades, unfortunately for us they have had a few more issues with the new 4000t GVM (something to do with tyre testing) so it won't be available until Feb, a bit too long for us to wait so we went ahead and this is what we ended up getting .. @happycampersaustralia
Revised Tare weight - 2344kg Revised GVM - 3700kg Revised GCM 7700KG Revised BTC- 4000KG Revised front axle capacity- 1640kg Revised rear axle capacity- 2120kg
Why go bigger and heavier. Extra running costs and limited access to remote areas 😢
Our single axle was always too close to the tyre and axle limit, so concessions had to be made!
@@NielsSorensen-sh8tm We are going in the other direction, downsizing from 19.6 to either 16 or 17', but we don't live in ours full-time. Its not only the running costs its also the added wear and tear on the tow vehicle.
Fully nerd out on these weigh videos and don’t even have a van.
Yes we had our set up weighed and we were over on the rear axle as well culled quite a bit of stuff now legal looking at a GVM and GCM upgrade
Overall weight is one thing Axle load is another
Lichfield will always be better than kakadont!!
Although we love Kakadu, we do tend to agree that Litchfield is better 🤩
Thank you ❤
You're welcome 😊
Great tips. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Such beautiful places really enjoyed watching love your new caravan 😊
Thanks for watching 😃
Did Glenn slip in the pool? 😂😮
lol! Very observant! He slipped down the step, but I had already stopped recording, otherwise it would have been included 😂

Thanks! We miss you too! 😊
Loved your “jammed pack video”. Beautiful new van you must be so pleased with it. Air bags are great. 🥂
Thanks so much! We’re loving it! 🥂
Congratulations on your new baby. Looks fantastic and I wish my van had airbags. Safe travels
Thanks! We are loving the airbags! 😁
Love no ceiling lights, can you reach the microwave Vicky?
I can reach ok. The van is high off the ground, but when inside it’s the same as usual. I am actually using the microwave more than usual now we can run it without power!
People where using generator for their heater and aircon. Desil and oil
I never seen a empty tool box. Usually they a overflowing. Congratulations
