I am putting this on my front door. I normally use minwax stain for everything but lowes strongly recommended this as my front door takes a beating from the weather. I called several lowes for advice and then called valspar. Valspar has a specific door/trim stain but for my purpose they recommended the stain that you used. Thanks for your video
Great review. Thank you. I just bought a few gallons to do my deck in classic mahogany. Was wanting something that covered well it with the deck getting major sun during the day. Big help. Thanks.
Thank you! It's a great product.
Nice review! Going to use this solid paint on my deck
Awesome! I hope it works as well for you as it has for me.
Do you think I can use this on osb? It's for my dog house to protect against rain an it peeling
Not entirely sure about OSB, but I used it on a piece of plywood recently and it worked fine.
So it seems like solid stain is really just paint then? I'm trying to repair my staircase and trying to figure out if i need a solid stain or transparent stain, im only repairing certain areas and need to apply wood color to it..
Yes the stain feels and looks very much like a paint. I was a little surprised myself too at how thick it was.
@@RepurposeandUpcycle If i need to repair only parts of a post, do I need to sand the ENTIRE post and stain it so it'll match or can i get away with only staining it? It feels like i cant get a color match just bc it'll be 1 color for the whole post.
@@superduperboyx Valspar says just to sand any areas that are uneven or splintered. If the wood is clean and smooth, I wouldn't worry about sanding all of it.
