Mammoth Lakes Fishing Trip May 2024 Lake Crowley | Part 5

In this final day of fishing before heading back to Southern California (~5 hrs), we rented a boat at sunrise (6am) on Memorial Day and fished Crowley Lake for 6 hrs.
The boys fly fished. The girls fished with regular rods. We had 6 lines in the water. Stopped at 3 different spots on the lake. The fishing was great! Lots of catch and release, but plenty of good trout catches we kept. The weather cooperated in the morning with a morning high of 35 degrees to a sunny beautiful 76 degrees. The winds were forecasted as calm, but by 11am the winds picked up a lot and made fishing very difficult.
We had dinner in Mammoth Village at a place called Noodly. A Vietnamese & Thai Cuisine restaurant. Then we did our last bit of shopping before heading back to pack and leave by 7am the next morning.
It was an incredible trip. Magnificent landscapes. Lots of outdoor adventure. I highly recommend for all outdoor lovers who want to get out of the city and get right into nature. The weather provides something for everyone, particularly at that time of year. There was snow, rain, fog, clear skies, calm winds, gusty winds, cold mornings. Was it worth it? Yes. Yes. And did I say Yes? Go.
