Okay I need to remember that! I know how, it's just one of those things that I blank on if I think about it too much, I only ever do Western tack for volunteer lessons or therapy, and I don't volunteer anymore- long story haha, toxic barn, which is ironic because it's a also a special needs therapy barn as well as regular lesson barn- let's just say they took my heart and ate it, too, with hardly have so much as a thank you in return - I found a great place now, they actually compensate me for my labour, what a concept... I will work for free for hours because I love to help horses, but at least let me ride when you KNOW I can't afford to do so, when you know I love it THIS MUCH - anyway, sorry, I miss volunteering, I really do and it's so sad it had to be that way there, they really hurt and used me... Hopefully I can find another place that does something similar, it was very rewarding, although I mostly just enjoy being near the horses, haha!
I love this!!!!! The way I learned was Down to the head, back to the tail, up this pull. It does the rhyme but it was helpful for me for the first few tack ups
Your amazing Shae! I love wat him your show, I wish I could shadow you for about a month and learn and absorb as much info as I can lol, pls keep putting out great videos, 😊❤
This really helps I ride and Everett summer I go to a horse camp now I’m almost in advanced and I forgot the cowboy not or whatever it’s called and I wanted to learn again so I can still be in advanced
Texas T knot was biting into my mare's armpits so I ran my latigo through the front ring, down to the cinch back up to the back ring, across and back through the front ring and down through the crossed section and she was so happy, took care of all her discomfort. I've never seen anyone tie a latigo like that but she was ecstatic
GIRL GIRL GIRL GIRL THANK U QUEEN 👑 I'm starting barrel racing after like 5 years out of the saddle and I totally forgot how to tie the Latigo and I couldn't figure it out u just jogged my memory thank u omg 😌
One thing my instructor taught me when I was just starting our riding that I still recite in my head is Make a seven Make a four Put it through the basketball goal
I’ve been riding for a year now and my brain still sometimes freezes and can’t remember which way to go. 🤦♀️ I will be memorizing and using this rhyme more than I want to admit 😅
Or, you can remember the numbers 7-4-1 - when you first put it down through the left it forms a 7, then up through the right it makes a fancy four, and then when you pull it tight it makes a one
We actually don’t do knots we use those holes…hints the ladigo holes…and the like stick on the girth…btw but some real western jeans and no black felts during summer.
Hi, I don’t like the hole method personally, secondly I can wear what I want, clothes don’t mean crap. It’s about how you ride and bond with your horse.
English is and older style of riding that encompasses posting, jumping, etc. the saddle is more close contact and hornless. Western is a style of riding where the saddle has a horn and typically different disciplines such as roping, barrel racing, pleasure etc are the disciplines.
maam! how tall are you? im going insane! your horses seem tall but then i see you riding with what looks like short stirrups and then i just get so confused like, are your horses big and your small or what
Isn't that the only way? 🤣🤣. I never used the hook. In fact I would remove the hook from my cinch so I wouldn't get stabbed by it if an accident were to have happened.
This was helping I will try it out when I go to my riding lessons ❤
Good! :)
I don't even ride western but I am still gonna remember this 😆
Haha!!
Thank you! Back with horses after many years and I had forgotten how. This makes it easy.
Thank You 😊 I think this was 100% just for me ✅
Of course ❤️❤️❤️
This helped so much bc when my instructor at my riding lessons when she showed me how to do the girth I got so confused thank you so much!!
Thank you!! I do english but this is very helpful just in case!❤

My daughter has been riding for 2 years and loves your tips!!:)🧡💛
That’s awesome!
Thank you for reminding me!
❤️❤️❤️
Your amazing Shae! I love wat him your show, I wish I could shadow you for about a month and learn and absorb as much info as I can lol, pls keep putting out great videos, 😊❤
Wow that’s amazing thanks for that I’m always forgetting how to tie my saddle up
❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@freespiritequestrian Also I have same belt but brown instead of black
you both look Fabulous💜
This really helps I ride and Everett summer I go to a horse camp now I’m almost in advanced and I forgot the cowboy not or whatever it’s called and I wanted to learn again so I can still be in advanced
You are the only account I have seen that actually does the knot and I thought my barn was the only place that did it
Haha! I love the knot 🪢

Amazing!!!! You’re welcome ❤️
You hair is sooo pretty 🤩
Thank you so much! Im an intern/counselor at a ranch and I forget how to saddle sometimes.
Thank you i will try this❤
Thank you so much for making this video! I screen recorded this and I am gonna show my trainer if this works!
How cool 😎
You should come to Texas and meet me bc I have been watching you since I was 2
I have a girth with that buckle system on it, but find the knot works better. Not sure if the buckle is anything more than a gimmick. Just my opinion.
Yep agreed :)
You have awesome hair!
You’re so sweet!!! Thank you 😊
@@freespiritequestrian no problem👍🏻
And . . . it works! Wahoo! 🤠
Sure does yay!
This will help me tysm
You’re welcome!
Omg thank you, I have my lesson in like 30 minutes and did not want to get yelled at for forgetting the knot again
💖
This literally help so much!!
Down thru the left, up thru the right, put it straight thru and pull real tight. :)
Isn’t that fun! I made it up the other day haha. I mean maybe someone else has too but I have not heard it before! Haha 😂
You should trade mark that! I’d wear a t shirt or a hoodie with that on it!
Yes when I am at my horse sometimes I do that way
One thing my instructor taught me when I was just starting our riding that I still recite in my head is
Make a seven
Make a four
Put it through the basketball goal
Awesome 😎
I had something similar to this ons
I don't ride western but this was so interesting I want to try it on my stable's western saddle!!
❤️❤️❤️
I’ve been riding for a year now and my brain still sometimes freezes and can’t remember which way to go. 🤦♀️ I will be memorizing and using this rhyme more than I want to admit 😅
Omg I wish I saw this yesterday I saw putting a western saddle on my horse and completely forgot cuz I ride English 😂
Thank you sooo much!
I always just remember 7, 4, up and through
😀
Love it!
Thanks 😊
this helps alot thx
TYSM❤❤❤❤
i always learned by "head, tail, sky, ground" lol
we used to teach our camp kids, "nose, tail, toes" or, Left, Right, Down
Awesome 👏
This will help me sooooo much Ty for the vid
You’re welcome :)
This is so smart!
Thanks! ❤️
Or, you can remember the numbers 7-4-1 - when you first put it down through the left it forms a 7, then up through the right it makes a fancy four, and then when you pull it tight it makes a one
I wish I would have known yes before I went to English barn. ( it's mostly English, but there is some western, we don't do western no more.)
❤️❤️❤️
Ahh.. helped so much! Haven’t rode in a bit. 🫶
Good to know! Thanks 😊
@@freespiritequestrian haha your very welcome! I have an 8 year old Mare. She is an Arabian, Paint, Mustang mixed!
Thx so much this helped me
Yay! I’m glad
My friend has the same tip as well, she also has a similar saddle that I’ve ridden in before and it’s so comfortable. ❤
❤️
Thanks!
What my coach says is you can remember 7,4,Q cuz when you start the knot it makes a 7,4,and Q
Heyyy omg I just got that exact same belt.
I remember when I didn't know how to do anything and now it only takes me a few minutes
That’s fantastic!
Can you please show me how to do up my cinch using the holes bc my barn doesn’t allow Texas-T knows because it gets in the way of the rider’s leg
So cool 😎
I remember it as 7, 4, 1
Ohh thats so helpful
Yay!!! ❤️
Okay but also some horses or most will push there rib cage out then when you get on they retracts so make sure to probably walk them around
What bridle are you using? I have the same little s hackamore and I like the fit of yours.
Nice! It’s a Taylored Tack bridle.
@@freespiritequestrian brilliant! Thank you
How many times do you but it before the know is it two or there ?
I always forget how to saddle lol
Lol! I have brain farts too 😂
When I can’t fit it into a hole than I do this knot and it helps the cinch from loosening
I hope I own a horse 🥲
❤️
If I could build my favorite female out of a kit. This is the girl of my dreams spot on....... I say this with all due respect
Awwww thanks ✨😊
Tyyyy
♥️♥️
COME TO TEXAS
My trainer taught me 7+4=11! You make the Latigo a 7. Then a 4. The pull it through to make 11!
Yep! Another good one.
Whats does the double bar on this saddle do?
my instructor told us to remember it like this
7 + 4 = 11
if you look at it while tying the cinch it looks like those numbers.
Yes 👍
Do you also do English?♥️
Yes! English is so fun 🤩
@@freespiritequestrian agreed! Thanks!
Another way is to remember 7:40 because you make a 7 then a 4 then a T!
That’s called a Texas T
Your riding Prince Charming?!?!
This is Jiminey :)
Oh! Ok! I thought he looked like Prince Charming! Silly me 🤣
We actually don’t do knots we use those holes…hints the ladigo holes…and the like stick on the girth…btw but some real western jeans and no black felts during summer.

@@freespiritequestrianyes!!
Me: English rider
My friend: western rider
🐎❤️
what is different in western and english? bc i think i want to start western
English is and older style of riding that encompasses posting, jumping, etc. the saddle is more close contact and hornless. Western is a style of riding where the saddle has a horn and typically different disciplines such as roping, barrel racing, pleasure etc are the disciplines.
When I was in a western summer camp they said make a 7 then a 4 then a 11 because 7+4=11. But I will definitely try this next time
That’s a good one too ❤️
i can’t take her seriously with this outfit
In reality an outfit doesn’t make or break a true horse man or woman.
@@freespiritequestrian yes i know that
@@Trump-ze2xb okay then.
@@freespiritequestrian i’m just saying it’s a hilarious outfit, not that she doesn’t know her crap
maam! how tall are you? im going insane! your horses seem tall but then i see you riding with what looks like short stirrups and then i just get so confused like, are your horses big and your small or what
Haha I’m 5ft tall :)
Another way to remember is 7 4 1
oh shit, there was a horse there
Lol
Forget the saddle…
Isn't that the only way? 🤣🤣. I never used the hook. In fact I would remove the hook from my cinch so I wouldn't get stabbed by it if an accident were to have happened.
Hahaha IMO YES lol 😂
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
What’s so funny? 🙃
If you don't mind the knot under your knee
It’s fine ❤️
Or you could just remember 7 4 1 lol
There are many ways
@@freespiritequestrian true lol
So we’re not number which is 741
I meant you can also do 741
Why aren’t you wearing a helmet even though you do wear one in English?
This was for a photoshoot.
@@freespiritequestrian ok!
Do you know about saddles ? About Quality ? Im not shure about that......
Yes I do… I don’t prefer heavy leather saddles if that’s was you’re referring too.
Nice body❤
EW! Don’t be a creep
