This is a great castle to visit, also Newton House and indeed the whole estate is a worth while day out. I've been here a couple of times now. Have you guys checked out Carreg Cennen Castle ? It has tunnel... if not is another one to visit.
We also really enjoyed this castle but didn't have time to visit Newton House. We intend to visit again when we can. So many castles and so little time.
It does look interesting. We must add it to the list. Seems like we won't be going anywhere for a little while though due to our new lockdown. Fortunately, we have a few films already shot so we won't run out just yet.
Great stuff. I'm always amazed at how much larger castles were in Wales on average. When the Normans came here they typically just built towerhouses with a bawn. Functional for the time, but so many were lost to the sands of time.
Thank you. There are all sorts in Wales. Plenty of towers and loads of fortified manor houses. We will get around to some of those soon. SO many castles, so little time.
Good job with the edits which point out the different sections of the castle. You wouldn't think there would be so many configurations one could be built
Thank you, it is surprising how many styles and layouts of castle there are. Each have their own personal stamp somewhere. Thank you for your comment :) Jo
I love your video. History and you also explain what we are seeing
Got to your videos after visiting this castle myself today.
Great random find! Love these videos on castles will go through all of yours now 👍👍
Thank you! Hope you enjoy 😊 Dinefwr is a wonderful castle to visit, if we go back I’d quite like to explore the woods a bit more
Nicely done!!
Thank you!

Update, I see you have been to Carreg Cennen also, just about to watch. Thanks.

Glad you spotted it. 😀
Another great video guys. where you looking to head next?
Thank you! Next one is Dryslwyn Castle, which is the next castle along from there
scale wise/ landscape bigigity reminds me of Sterling Castle.... vast!
Haven’t been to Stirling yet, so we will have to take your word for it 😁
Are you going to visit Pembroke castle?
It’s on the list as an eventual destination, but we have a cadw membership so we’re mopping up the many cadw properties first.
@@MostlyCastles + There is a small tower house at Angle that maybe worth a look at, never been myself, but looks rather interesting.

@@MostlyCastles + True enough, maybe worth a visit if you get some free time.
I have added it to our list so when the madness ends we will hopefully get there.

Nice video but Gruffudd is pronounced _'Griffith_ '.
Deheubarth is pronounced ' _Deh - hay- barrth_ '
Diolch 🏴 😊👍
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it and we hope our butchering of Welsh pronunciation doesn’t detract too much from your enjoyment.
