    Such a beautiful game! Even though Aronian lost, he is such an artist. There are few legendary players who leave a mark in their moves. When we see such moves over the board, we instantly remember their names and they continue living in our heart and soul even today. Aronian is and will continue to be one of them. I saw the game live but with your commentary here, made my day. Thank you.

    1. Hello, everyone!
    2. Captures Captures!
    3. Enjoy the show!
    4. Pause the video and figure out the next move.
    5. I'll see you soon.

    At first I thought that at 13:08 Mamedyarov blundered. But actually if you play rook captures on E5 to try and use queen to F6 check and pick up the rook, you loose to queen to A1 with check. Crazy that he must have calculated this to know to go into this...

    13:07 capture the E5 bishop with your rook on E1 , he captures back with the pawn , u check him on F6 and grab his Rook on D8 , u actually win the game .

    • @winger2277
      @winger2277 6 років тому +1

      He wouldnt capture with the pawn. He would play queen a1 check. Picking up your rook. All you did was trading a rook for a bishop. :)

    • @leonidaspavlidis6051
      @leonidaspavlidis6051 5 років тому

      All this theory would be nice IF "he captures back with the pawn" But no, every decent player he will capture the rook with the Queen after a simple check at a1

    "Pączek" [which you can read as 'pawn-check' using chess terminology :) ] is doughnut in Polish language, so it may be very similar in Russian - as both languages have many things in common. In the video you said something like 'pawn-chick', so you can see both words are fonetically close to each other. Greetings from Poland. from big fan!

  • @iris8814
    @iris8814 6 років тому +2

    Though Mamedyarov won this, the way Aronian defended was also really impressive espescially the part 9:30-11:00. That's probably why he is considered to be the most creative player.

    Why didn't aronian go with knight to C4 attacking the bishop (at 12:00)? This would be a nice option and maybe I'm overlooking something, but this seems like a good move.

  • @leonidaspavlidis6051

    Hello. I think at 2:59 after black move the pawn at c5, white could change rook and queen for black's Bishop and queen and they will be at better position. At least 2 black pawns will be out of game after d4xc5, Knight at c3 and everything looks fine for white

    You can't get away with false evaluations, you made more than one in this game.

    We never see Fabi create something like this over the board. I think Shakh or Aronian would be better challengers.

      ??? do you even watch fabi's games? check out his game vs hikaru from round 6 of the london chess classic 2016, where he sacs his queen for a knight and then come back and tell me what you think

      Nope. If Shakh or Aronian would go to London 2018 and play like this, Magnus would sweep the venue floor with them. He could defend such attacks or never let them happen, by not going for sharp lines, but play slow, win a pawn and the game.
