No I don't, though I agree with much of what he says about our present predicament. Do you?

What?! 'The West' achieved greatness long before the American story began; as an offshoot of the West and arguably one that would bring us all down with it's arrogance and hedonism. That greatness came of the ingenuity and work ethic of it's peoples who, despite existing in different cultures had all the same mental traits being of the same lineage.

You miss the point in every aspect of your comment. I recommend listen more, speak less.

@@l.sophia2803 And I suggest that you say what you have to say, instead of just attacking me personally. What exactly do you think I said that is wrong?

_The only thing I can be certain of is my _*_ignorance!?_* ~ Diogenes
_WIthout _*_Humility,_*_ there can be no _*_Humanity!_*
The genius of Western Civilization is that all truths are regarded as being *provisional,* which is great for NT Rationalists... but a living hell for most everyone else who grave certainty above all else!?

Diogenes was one of the most shameless humans in history, your quote is Satanic, humility with an example of a nude man "wearing" a chicken.
How you view humility is poisonous.

Most empires last about 300 years. So, by Bret's idea that The Western Empire started in the USA in 1776, things are right on schedule. 2076 to 2100 ish I can see "The West" disappearing as globalism recedes into individual nations entering a second Medieval age.

I really like Bret but disagree with his rhetoric here. As the West goes back to the ancient Greeks and Romans and many of the concepts and values we still have come down the centuries long before the American constitution. While I agree with him that it is best if America as a democratic Republic survives, it would be good if he could also see outside his ethnocentric understanding.
