So old? Bro this feels like yesterday to me. Hate getting old, time just passes so quickly. Enjoy your youth man. Make mistakes, learn and love. Utilise the exuberance, don't take it too seriously. Live your life. Enjoy jehst
The madness is that for a good few seconds when i first saw this back in the day i did think jehst was a postman! i used to deliver papers and id get high and think of bars the whole morning before school. So it made sense to me. Fuckin love this
Jhest is so underrated, his lyrics are extremely clever and the man has a lot of talent. Out of all the UK hip hop artists he is my favorite, falling down is a brilliant album.
@@powernoid he's never paid for samples mate. His music was never legit. So he couldn't of ever made it that way. But man he's amazing, I've seen him live in Leeds and he is perfection.
showing my friends lil brother what we used to listen ago back in day. Can't believe this come out 10 years ago! Still sounds as fresh as the day it come out.
I don't know if its now "uncool" in the UK to still like Jehst but he's one of my all time favorites. I still love it when i hear songs like Carpe Diem, Cosmic Gypsies, and Brimstone Rock.
Finally going to see Jehst live on monday night, you could put all the chrimbo's/birthdays/new years eve's/super phun tymes together and you still wouldn't get close to my excitement.
The drifters back!!!! Glad to see he flipped this whole postman ting.....Now he laughin in the faces of all those that were bad mouthing him. Big up the legend that is Jehst. Still showing innovation. I just cant wait for his album to drop, been waiting for that shit for TOO long. but anyway, Big up the man! & all of the YNR crew.
By far The best in the UK game. Hes on another level. Some other deep, intelligent and conscious British acts are Braintax - RIP, Dr Syntax, Lowkey, Roots Manuva, Chester P, Maxi Jazz of Faithless,Scroobuis Pip, Allflaws
OG, poetic rhymes and great beats and riffs. One of the unrecognised greats. I say unrecognised amongst people who have no idea of good uk hip hop. Those who know know. 🤟🏻
@rasko Yep, I lived round the corner on Pleshey Road... the house Jehst walks away from at the very start is the one they used in the sit-com Spaced. Quality all round!!!
I'm loving the idea that this is Jehst's tribute to Charles Bukowski! A genius who undderstood, all too well, the poetry to be found in crushing, repetetive, menial work - nailed beautifully in his book 'Post Office'
when you got dj kool herc leaving a comment you know my boy done good even the creator of hip hop gave it thumbs up i rest my case go cop it when it drops and if you wanna hear the new album man will be performing tracks off it this saturday @ XOYO so make sure y'all come
@wwwdotnet this video is an extension of jehst's musical genius, i've never seen a scenario turn into a piece of art like that, which is basically what you've done, drawn a picture using life and emotions. like most people who comment, im pretty blazed, sat in spain smoking some nice moroccan haha but the vid is genius and jehst kills it as ever. love how hes blatantly filmed it straight out of bed for credibility, he looks done in! cant wait to bump the new album in my motor!!
Most of the time the artists themselves try to keep underground, if you get too popular the beast that is the music industry takes over, stifling lyrical creativity, you can speak your mind when your a nobody, no ones paying your wage so no one has a say in what you do.
im blessed to be good mates with someone who grew up with jehst... some interesting stories to say the least, he sounds as eccentric IRL as in his music. big up tears in rain... UK !
@@littlewig200 he was apparently very high energy, always writing but hard to get into a studio. maybe the reason we didnt see him blow up as much as he should of done. he moved around alot too... my friend who knows him was hella into the graf hip hop thing in the 90s so they did alot of art work together mainly... according to him he helped list one of his albums or something when he was living or visiting sowber bridge in halifax where i think he lived for a bit... not much to tell as all this is 15 year ago deep in my mates memory :) hope u have a epic day! an idle mind is the devils workshop ;)
AMAZING JEHST IS BACK - LOVE WHAT HE'S DONE here with the last post man video had me fooled Cant wait for the album its become the UK version of Detox! rawtalkrecordings . com
What fucking brilliant videos! The whole concept with the two parts making it look like it was some home video and bla bla bla, and then the diff cameos (especially liked the cameos from the two guys from the Q-Unique video).
Though the sample used here was on the 7L & Esoteric album Soul Purpose, the production for the title track 'Soul Purpose' was actually DJ Spinna and not 7L. 7L still doing his thing though.
The UKS finest MC by far. Hes real poet with style and substance. Bless to him and other British peeps like Braintax, Roots Manuva, Ghostpoet, Scoobius Pip, Chester P, Dr Syntax
Awesome! When seeing the first vid I actually thought Jehst worked for Royal Mail as his day job! Love Stiggy smalls on the fitness tip! The whole ting (both vids) is just 'genius'! Only Jehst! Big upz!
I love this vid, the metaphor i took from it is that he recieved an opinion, handed it out to whom that and the other, realised not giving a fuck is better :D
yooooo i didnt kno jhest was out with new stuff!!!! ahhah i thought this was gonna b a joke or sumthing from the title...good to hear new stuff from jhest britains best
Great to hear some new Jehst material...that 'England' record is sick! Irrelevant to this track, but everytime I hear a Jehst record I gotta say it....... My Top 5 in no particular order - Elzhi/Jehst/MF Doom/Shad/Blu
absolutely love the flow on this... can't believe it's so old and I'm only hearing it for the first time
Always the first time, mate...
I remember seeing Jhest perform this live crowd went wild

it's a crime that jehst isn't a national treasure by now

"Like promoters that don't get the H in the right place"

Jehst is better than a lot of U.S. rap artists
BIG UP!!
You 2 high focus
It was Stig of the Dump as a fitness instructor
one of the best marketing campaigns ever this, the videos of him delivering the post, posted to all the hip hop forums
man, it is ssooo good to hear some new Jehst tunes
Finally going to see Jehst live on monday night, you could put all the chrimbo's/birthdays/new years eve's/super phun tymes together and you still wouldn't get close to my excitement.
I used to live in Notting Hill and my postman legit looked like Jehst, I absolutely adored that dude))

full on in love with this track!
he's returned with his sickest flow yet... finally more beats to paint pictures in my mind.
when you got dj kool herc leaving a comment you know my boy done good even the creator of hip hop gave it thumbs up i rest my case go cop it when it drops and if you wanna hear the new album man will be performing tracks off it this saturday @ XOYO so make sure y'all come

PARKY
cannot wait to see jehst in Norwich! only recently started to listen to uk hip hop (like half a year) and have been addicted since!
His flow is first class, got that special delivery.
Already a classic in my eyes...
Yee
If Jehst is Homer, then Foreign Beggars would be Apu and Dr. Hibbert, and Rhyme Asylum would be Bart, Milhouse and Ralph...
Aaahh this gag has been percolating for 12 years but it did justake me laugh. 😅 Nice work my friend, nice work
