I was in the audience for her final West End performance and the atmosphere after that defying gravity was electric. Still get the goosebumps now after watching it.
Since all the ones from March 2017 onwards have fun, interesting and jaw-dropping riffs in them, I wonder if the directors asked her to do it because she was so well-known and this was her last time playing Elphaba
There are so many reasons why Willemijn is my favorite Elphaba, but the quality and control of her voice (especially her belts and riffs) is number one. She's magnificent, and she doesn't just mimic other Elphies either. Willemijn's Elphaba is distinctive and unique, and frankly, gives me the closest feeling to the Elphaba from Maguire's novel. Thank you for this video.
eu descobri elas com nomediga de wicked no dia em que vi defying gravity pela primera vez, ai quando a jeca falou que a bruxa VOAVA no palco eu fui logo procurar kkkkkkkk
Saw Both last Germany Performances and she was absolutly stunning. In Stuttgart my Highlight was Lucy, all the little details they both shared. I miss those times sooooooooooooooooooooooo much.
This journey and trajectory is brilliant. Thank you for this compilation and thank you Willemijn Verkaik for bringing us life, connection, love, and power. You are the very best in every respect.
It was on UA-cam back when I edited the video, I guess it has been taken down. I also can't find the file on my computer anymore sorry. If I find it somehow, I'll let you know.
@@OzdustBroom Makes sense. I’m surprised they didn’t care as much when the 2021 Wicked revival changed the staging. Heck they even included Dorothy at the end rather than a silhouette of her.
@@soulsista1223 Idina originated the role, so she taught EVERYONE playing it after her the score IF you think about it. However, Willemijn is still the ONLY Elphaba performer to sing the role in three languages and she does indeed, SLAY the role. However, Idina also WELL deserves her place in Wicked history.
@Ben Schaeffer That part. She originated the role and everything else afterwards was INSPIRED BY HER. We won't be invalidating Indina for bringing Elphaba to life.
The last one was an epic flex. "World, this is how it's done."

I love her so much. No one will ever come close to singing Elphaba like her
listen to Shoshana Bean she is also quite amazing! She and Willemijn are pretty close
*cough* Eden Espinosa *cough*

11:50 her signature SLAY Riff
Absolutely
It's actually amazing to think she preserved her voice rightly and maybe because she has a proper technique too unlike the first original Elphaba.
LITERALLY THIS!!! Idina Menzels last DG is so strained!
We stan our siren-voiced goddess-beauty trilingual QUEEN 😌👑
I have no words. Incredible from start to finish, and faultless every. damn. time. If there's a Mount Rushmore for Elphabas, she's surely on it.
It´s just amazing. The West End loves her and you can cleary figure out why, just by listening.
this is the first time i’m hearing the dutch version and wow
20:44 this is just so, SO good, I want to cry
The last on is the best.

I was there for quite a few of them. That last performance in the West End was just everything! SOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD!!! She's the best!
11:00 is this person really videoing it from the front row? That takes a certain level of brazenness 2 feet from the ensemble.
I swear I can't get enough of her
That final performance is iconic
Well, she's freaking amazing

Thank you so much for putting this together, what a treat! I absolutely love her, what amazing work done by her.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I think we can all agree how incredibly talented Willemijn is! 👏
I was very lucky to see her live in Oberhausen ❤️❤️❤️
The best. Love her to the western sky and back
In German, in Dutch & English, well, NO OTHER Elphaba has done that, right?
Nope!
I absolutely love her and she's the biggest inspiration for me as I learn German and Spanish. 🥰
Do any other musical theater actors cry watching these because they want it to be them so bad or do I have a few screws loose 😭
The best of the best!!! Love her so much!!!
23:55 Yaaas again
The best ever!
2:50 WTF SLAY
best elphaba ever
Great editing
Powerful ,tears….🖤
Funny. The first video was from ORF. An Austrian TV channel.
17:46 Yaaas
Where did you get her first performance back? I can't find anything before March!

Wait, if they followed the original staging in the 2007 German Cast why did the 2021 Hamburg cast Wicked revival change the staging? Lmaooo.
Probably licensing

I guess her age is a reason. She' was 45 as the new version of Wicked was poduced. That she could play an School girl would be very Odd now...

9:00 she sounds kinda off?
She is actually teaching Idina the Great how to sing. Damn. She OWNS this role.
Lol so true
This is actually the spoken "she has nothing to do with it. I'm the one you want" part. She is not off, because it is not sung, but spoken :)
