    Peter thanks for your Sonos videos. I loved the Sonos experience at first. With the Ace headphones and new app update things have become very frustrating. I had an issue with the headphones syncing to various devices even outside of the app. It got so bad I sent the cans back. I liked them but will wait until they get things straightened out. I am on hold with buying any more Sonos equipment until they fix their problems. I am going back to my Bose NC700 for now. I was frustrated with the Bose cans especially with them dropping their connection from time to time while flying. They are several years old so I’m stuck with them. I’m not going to pay for another pair of cans that have more problems. Come on Sonos get your act together!

    Thank you for the video. I had to return the sonos ace headphones due to the fact that the audio swap function cannot be setup on Android devices. Could you please keep us updated on this issue? Thanks again for your time and expertise.

      @@jb7753 Set up is a one off process. So like i did you can borrow an i phone install Sonos app on it and quickly do the TV Swap set up. It will then work going forward without an i phone. Not ideal I know & I wasted 2 days trying to set up before I realised the issue.

    Not checked but is "About my system" "Audio in" information back or is that still missing, minor but I liked to occasionally check I was getting the full fat version of Atmos on my 4k discs "True HD"

    Hi all,
    Does anyone else feel that the vocals of the Arc can be slightly left-sided? I know the centre tweeter is slightly to the left. It's noticeable and frustrating. Changing the settings and re-doing Truplay doesn't help much. Thanks.

    I'm currently selling all my Sonos devices because I've had enough of the chaotic app. Half of the Sonos devices have already been sold on eBay

      … some small issues are still there - but overall the Sonos app works fine. No need to switch systems. 🤷🏼‍♂️

      @@TW-iu9zy I see it differently and therefore pulled the emergency brake after 6 weeks and have only regretted with the new system that I did not take this step away from Sonos earlier.

    Surround distance is available with TruePlay engaged. I kind of like this, as I use the 10 ft plus setting (even though I'm only a couple of feet from the surrounds), and I get a lot more detail and volume in the surrounds. I jack my bass, surround and height settings (Atmos is a joke with only up firing drivers, I'll never understand all the hype around this) and am not looking for "creator's intent"; I go for listener's pleasure, lol. Still no artwork in the main S2 play window, with TV source.

    I can no longer play a playlist on the Sonos App. I spent a ton to keep upgrading speakers so they work. I spend 25 minutes in queue to talk to support and find out Playlists are no longer supported.
    The point of a Sonos HiFi is to play your music.
    Time to sell the system and find a new eco system. Looking for suggesting on what to buy now.

    Do you think that Sonos will ever allow dedicated front L/R and over head speakers to join my Arc?
    Would love to hang up 2 era 100 on my sealing and add 2 sonos 5 as front Left and Right. It would create an easy way to get people to buy more speakers 💪🏼 for me personally the arc is not good enough. 😢

      Adding separate physical Sonos devices to take over some of the dedicated channels from the soundbar configurations in home theatre mode has been something that Sonos has ignored thousands of its customers about for over a decade now. But I guess when you can’t even get a volume slider to not act like it needs an exorcism then it seems like a pretty big ask. The Arc would definitely be helped if it could focus more of its energy on dialogue clarity, as this is definitely one of the weak points of the soundbar.

    The app has 1.1 stars in the Android Play Store and rightly so. If what you've reported is correct, I've no idea how it's maintained over four stars on the iOS App Store.

    firmware update seems to be broken for me, i haven't had a notification for an update for a while now and I didn't know there were firmware updates until i loaded the windows11 Sonos app... that's how i found out about the updates. When i went into the IOS (iphone 15pro) app i had to manually check before a msg popped up saying there were updates available. Tried to update all of my products but they all failed, multiple attempts with multiple errors. I had to update through the Windows11 Sonos app which worked the first time. Also, it seems to update much FASTER through Win11.... Still frustrating though. Great vid as always, all the best!

    Thank you very much for your thorough and informative videos. I'm a fan of your site as well as Sonos. Do you actually know if a Sonos boost is relevant in 2024. it has been discontinued but I have one that I am considering putting on my system to make sure I have the best possible connection for my Sonos products. however, I am in doubt whether after the update I will create a problem by connecting a discontinued product that is probably no longer updated.     After spending a lot of time building playlists in the previous app, I can no longer add new tracks to playlists since the "upgrade". Is there a way to do this?

      This is my issue as well. I have an Atmos playlist with songs from Apple and Amazon. I have used the desktop app to add songs since May 7, but it is a tedious process. I want this fixed soon.

      Its suppose to be possible to make lists but its currently only possible by copying a quelist to a playlist. But the issue Im having is that my que list doesnt work, and I cant make it a playlist. Sonos blames the internet connection when thw que list dont work. Its obviously not a connection issue tho. Worst app ive ever had to try. Just want to make a f playlist.

    Could you do a video for people wanting to switch from Sonos to another brand? I just got mine and not impressed. I’m sure you could get something equally as good or better for the money. Not sure where to start looking though. (I’ve got a Beam 2 and Sub Mini)

    Has any of the updates in the recent months made any changes to sound quality? I was watching a couple movies tonight and HBO Max as well as Amazon precisely leaves me underwhelmed with my Arc, sub, and era 300s but tonight everything sounded amazing

    i had to change my network router and have had an absolute nightmare re connecting my Sonos systems with the new app, it would find the item and then add it to the app and say it was successful, it would then disappear and the app would say no connection! It took me about five hours to get them all set up. since doing Trueplay my home cinema sounds different as well.
    or maybe i have lost it !😷

    can you please tell us how it looks to be with best performance sound settings for Beam gen2 + Sub mini.... after the update it sounds terrible, it is not so warm with bass.... sound is really slick without any good experience by listen to the music... Please Help Us 🙏

    I have had problems maintaining the room I have assigned my Sonos speaker to. Several times the app has removed the name of my room and only indicated the name of speakers. Then I can add the room again. I have been in contact with Sonos and will have to get hold of them again, as the last measure did not help. It's a minor bug annoying. my app is updated to the latest version.

    Hi. ERA 300 2 pieces, connected as a surround. I can't hear any sound from the speakers on my side. Which are clearly audible to the sides and upwards.Maybe this is how it should be? I haven't listened to speakers close to my ear before.

    I can tune with TruePlay but I cannot hear any difference either it is on or off. In the past, Trueplay enhances the sound. My setup has not changed, just the APP is updated. Anyone has that issue?

    The 4 star review on the app store I believe is the average since the previous versions. But ever since the version 80 update it has been mostly 1 star.

    The app keeps on randomly setting my volume to 0. So frustrating when watching a movie n shit.

    Ever since the app update back in May and the subsequent firmware updates, my Move 2 has had nothing but issues. If I try using AirPlay to listen to music the music just repeatedly skips. Over and over. I have to turn the Move2 off and back on and it'll work. I have reset the wifi settings and everything and nothing fixes it. Anyone else having issues like this?

    I went from loving my Sonos ecosystem for the last 2 years to now dreading opening the app. I am having to add speakers back at least twice a week. It’s so unpleasant that I am no longer buying more speakers until they fix this nonsense.

    Peter my Sonos s2 app still keeps resetting my settings every time I go out of it. Very frustrating. I’ve tried reinstalling the app several times but it doesn’t correct the problem.

    I like to let every body know that I have updated my speakers and found the speakers connected easier when you connect the subwoofer first then the Arc then the surround speaker 🎉 then happy days .i think the new app is much better configuration just take a little time to adjust ..sonos did a massive update and it has clitchs sonos will fix it so give them time Sonos is the best sounding and looking Dolby Atumos wireless system 10/10

    The app is an absolute nightmare. I have a Samsunug s24 Ultra and the app does not allow Trueplay setup. The ipad pro 12.9.inch 6th generation locks when you try to use Trueplay setup. The old ipad I have for the grand children that used to work will not update the Sonos app to the latest version as it needs ios 16 (although it is perfectly all right fot the small games they wish to play). So if anyone can tell me what devices you need to allow the Trueplay setup to actually work on I would appreciate it. I am seriously thinking of side loading a prior version on my Samsung s24, but as I also have the Sonos head phones I am rather stuck. I feel I am not getting the best out of my products Arc, Subwoofer, 2 era 300s and Sonos headphones. So anyone who reads this and can point me in the right direction to actually get Trueplay to work to setup my system properly I would appreciate it. Thanks Peter for the review but in it you say Trueplay setup works but not on which devices it does actually work

      I was using the old Version (pre 7th of May) until today by refusing the update. They just stopped the support for that version and you are now forced to update if you want to listen to music. So no sideloading anymore. What a effed up app

    Still can't change the volume without big problems. When changing the volume changes back itself and then after a while i am above 50% volume. New app is still unusable. Speakers dissepear, speakers mute by them self. And i always need to manualy search for my system because it is not possible the start the app without a message that there is no system found. Moved back to the old app again app is still one big mess.

      @@rustyrocks69 we have an upgraded fritzbox modem with 2gig internet speed so speed and modem are not the problem. I also have the same problems on the system that is by my grandparents house. Its the app. With the old app reinstalled i have no problems. My phone is also an very new flagship phone so(oneplus 10 pro).

      Also the loading times are much longer sometimes it takes over a minute to start playing the song i select absolute garbage.

    We are mid august and still some issues with the app, I was a SONOS evangelist but that is gone by now. Can you insist they make everything working as it should, 3 months to solve issues should be largely enough time….

    We're the hel is the option to force update in the app after update I simply cannot find it.. this update happened automatically first one ever that worked that way the app now goes weird in surround controls asking me to re set it .

    I cannot delete my old local library and add a new one. Changed my router and the path from my nas changed too. When i try the sonos support solution which i found on the internet the setting is missing 😢

    iOS app works well but android app will not allow me to “manage” anything. The menu displays, but when I try to change anything, nothing happens.

    Better but stuff on my plex still nada. Also, my playbase array still a bit bonkers. 70% of the time its not displaying or connecting to the device for me to control. Keep having to quit and requit until it comes back up.

    Has anyone else had this issue just done the new speaker update when it finished I hit done then all my eq settings sub settings all audio setting gone back to 0 turned off speech enhancement and took away my surround settings ie tv surround and music surround sliders just says re set no slides no break down. So now can’t change the surrounds settings at all. And have to go and watch peters video to get the correct eq settings and base settings

    I’m still not getting my hear round the fact that they did not provide a roll back. It may be better that the initial disaster version but unacceptable for a company like SONOS. We pay premium price so we must get premium service. I was a SONOS evangelist but now for the moment I do not recommend it anymore….

    @peterpee- the app is still utterly defective and we are giving Sonos to much credit
    1. Still can’t edit a queue or delete a track in a queue- AND THIS IS STILL NOT COMING IN THE JULY UPDATE 😡😡😡😡😡😡
    2. Not sure if other people have this issue - if you have a queue of music in your tv room and change the source to TV you can’t go back to the music queue - unless I’m missing something
    3. Finding that if you add a track to a queue it’s too easy to erase the queue if you keep your finger on the add tack button - I’ve deleted my queue list so many times
    4. Connectivity is still awful

      Same here, my living room group is muted every morning, as is my media room group, and my bedroom Moves. The Roams are usually turned off so I'm not sure about them. I use the group, then in the morning all the green lights are on again. It's annoying because it doesn't seem to un-mute, I have to turn the volume back up, so can't just have my "default" volume anymore. The forum response from Sonos is "Meh, we are looking into it..." that was about 10 days ago.

    I had issues with my surround volume on the previous update. It was resolved by deleting the app and reinstalling it.

    I just bought the Sonos beam 2nd gen and the mini sub in the app will not connect keeps asking for update but then when you hit update gives an error code of 1,000 so can't even use it due to can't download software update

      Had the same problem when I got my move last week, tech support told me to download the desktop app from the Sonos website and use it to setup. That worked straight away.

I have many pieces of Sonos, it frustrating having to take apart my cabinet to reboot the amps/ then even more frustrating when it’s says I cannot find product.??? (Working before update, no problems for me)
    Sonos Just needs to leaving alone, better still give the option not just mess people around with no support.
    IT IS NOT EASY TO HAVE TO KEEP REBOOTING EVERY TIME BECAUSE NOTHING WORKS ! THEN HAVING TO SET IT ALL UP AGAIN IT TAKES TIME.
    If Sonos had to pay customers for there time they would soon leave it alone.
    Sonos need to be able to fully test updates before releasing updates so it keeps owners system stable.!

    Just released a new firmware update 16.3.1 and after updating all settings were gone…what a sh*** show with this company at the moment…Arc 2? Before releasing any product they should get their basics right as otherwise they have no one buying their new product anymore….@Peter can you please have a brief update on the firmware release and best settings?

      Peter said update it, but from his voice and words I release that don’t update it haha. Sonos announced that app will update next week. I still keep the 16.1 and it is the best update yet than the new update. If you interested to update it and the see the newest, go ahead. In my side I feel happy with my last update 16.1 and the sound is great.

      @@jlo2272 do yourself a favor and stay on the old app. New app is not stable and way slower. Also i experience a huge list of problems with the new app it is so bad that i downgraded my app for the second time because i could not ad my sub back to the system when it magically dissepeard

    I would not get another piece of Sonos gear. I’m tired of getting messages that say not entire system is not connected to the internet when it is. Now it is showing some of my system, but other parts are missing. Every week, there is another challenge in getting the system to work.
    I cannot invest any more money in Sonos. I cannot recommend the system to ANYONE until i see the software fixed and stable. This is ridiculous!!!!

    Imagine Samsung messing up the TV remotes, will you buy samsung TV ?
    If you use android, i advice to delete current app. Install the old app Apk files are available. Change auto app update setting on Your phone.
    I don't know about iOS but thank god I am using Android.
    Rolling back actually feels like an Update to this mess.

    The new APP is completely slow and unusable, horrible horrible horrible upgrade. I had to do a manual downgrade cuz it was driving me crazy. My system has worked perfectly for years until this update.

    Paid review, this reviewer is no longer sincere, the app is a disaster, it has not improved and even adding new errors that he does not mention, he should feel ashamed for inciting that currently a defective version. I no longer follow this anymore. It is a farce.

    You don’t know software releases apparently. Android and Apple development are seen as two completely different products for apps. Having them the same number is beyond stupid. Different bugs. Different releases. You want continual updates not just one big one

    True play doesn’t work for me on both systems, iPhone 13 or 12 and iPad Air 13 , all of them stuck on the turn to 180 degrees and then stuck and can’t press the button to continue…

      I had similar issue - i disconnected the speakers and reinstalled and this reset everything and worked
