I’d like to tell that woman “you need to leave - your home is on fire” and put myself in that scene that starts at :57. I’m trying to remember if actual kissing on screen was not allowed during his time. What a loss his death must have been as I remember watching films about him decades ago and how the public reacted to his untimely death. I knew from a young age just how HUGE he was.

Out of the mist of that gloom and shrouded ignorance, Valentino became the most enduring star the world will ever know. An Italian immigrant who emigrated to America for one reason only. "Italy is too small for me," he told his older brother Alberto upon his departure. Within the span of eight short years, America and the world became too small for Rudolph Valentino!! In Hollywood, he was ignorantly cast in movie roles as despicable cads and villains. Simply because his complexion was dark and anything non white must be inherently evil!! Everything changed when his closest friend, June Mathis, placed him in the two greatest roles ever accorded an actor. "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" and "The Sheik." Immediately, Valentino became the on-screen ideal for every woman across the world. Only the great Elvis Presley produced a cult following to rival this living legend. Dick Cavett in a documentary on the roaring twenties, put it best. "If ever a man was a legend in his own lifetime, it was Valentino." A near century later that legend burns more powerfully than ever. From the age of silent films to cell phones. No star of yesteryear or today will ever match him.
He seems like the kindest and most gentle man ever caught on film. And not only because of the wonderful music you have put here but because I’ve seen his films and the camera doesn’t lie. Thank you for this touching moment of such a beautiful man.
