I find the SSL 2+ to produce sibliance with my condenser microphone.

I have probably a stupid question I have the SSL 2 and my Rode won’t really pick up on it. I have to turn the gain to 10 (max) and I barely get a green bar and I barely can hear it through logic.

Good question. I just asked the same in another forum and was happy to see it described here. I have a Neumann KM184 and have to set the gain to about 7-8 out of 10 to reach 24-18 db and at 8 to top out at 6 db. I thought that given the high gain on SSL that you would not need to almost reach max when using a SDC microphone as the KM184. However, it sounds good after normalisation. Then is the question of low volume on the monitoring using headphones (mine are 63 ohms Sony MDR-7506), but I guess that is another question.
