I just wanted to say thank you so much for your videos. I’ve watched several over the last few days to set up new gear on my desk, and drew from your advice to make major purchases last year. And, worth noting, I was at guitar center this past week to pick up some Trs cables and heard your familiar voice. I looked over and someone was streaming one of your videos while shopping for pro audio gear. (Relatable!) This really drove home how much you offer us. I wanted to share appreciation for what you do. Thanks, man.
This is EXACTLY what I needed - thank you! I have the SSL2+ and it was so difficult finding videos to help me set up my interface w/ my Sony A7IV. Great content!
One of the best channels so far I have found for these kind of topics. This guy is humble and gives normal and clear explanations for those who are not professionals.
You, sir, are heaven sent! This is exactly what I needed. Thank you for explaining it so perfectly. Off to do a shoot tomorrow, hopefully the audio will sound great!
Thats so helpful - because it allows me to synch Audio and Video within a minimal setup: Mic into Interface (MKE600 into Volt1) + interface into my Camera (Volt 1 into Black Magic Studio Camera via 3,5 insert) + and my Camera is plugged into my ATEM Mini via HDMI and all is done. No extra synch fuzz. Thanks! I can also recommend the Saramonic SR-PAX1!
Couldn’t hear much difference between option 1 and 2. Is there any preferred method over the two? Mine will be short run on my desk for talking head and zoom calls. Just thinking an interface might be better than the MKE600 directly into the camera and worrying about batteries. Phantom power seems like a better idea. Appreciate any input. Thanks.
I'd like to know what is the best option to connect a microphone with 3.5mm jack output (like most camera shotgun mics) to an audio interface which has xlr mic inputs ? Does a simple 3.5mm jack to XLR adapter work or will it degrade the signal or damage the mic ?
Hi, there. Is the signal coming out of the interface balanced or unbalanced? I have a Mackie ProFX6-V3 whose MAIN OUT's I would like to connect to the Mic-In of a sony ZVE-10, but I'm confused.
Will this also work for the New Hero cameras like the GoPro Hero 8, 9, and 10, assuming we have the "GoPro Mic-Adapter" installed? Hero 8 Mic adapter has a 3.5mm jack like the one you used here, so it probably works the same as in any other video cam, right?
Please help! I just bought maono ame2 sound card and pd400x to connect directly to the camera. The camera volume is also at its lowest but I hear a lot of noise no matter what I do. my camera is fujifilm xt3. Thank you very much
I love this video. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I’m new to the A.V. Stuff. Can i connect my live audio feed from my mixer to this set up for live streaming? Thank you.
Hey thank your for the video I did everything you said to do the difference is I was using a powered mixer and mines didn’t work good it was noisy and hissy and when I put it down it was way too low to even edit. So can I use a powered mixer with this set up or no please ?. Thanks in advance
Hello, Your all videos have very clear information. God bless you, my friend.🙏 As per your👆this video, I have some questions. Can I use an analogue mixer instead SSL2+ audio interface and any mobile phone(Android or iPhone) instead a DSLR camera shown in this video? Also, can I use the same camera audio interface for any mobile phone instead DSLR with all the same processes you have shown for better audio quality recording on mobile as well? Please.
Great video! I finally understood the difference between balanced and unbalanced signals thanks to you! I'm still having a problem maybe you could help me out with? I got a zoom q8 camcorder which is a camcorder with 2 line-in xlr/trs combi connectors. I also have the SSL 2 interface (not the SSL+ unfortunately) and I have my studio monitors connected to the balanced mono outputs. Is there any way to route the output signal from my interface to both, the camcorder and my monitors? I'm afraid if I split the output it might damage my monitors or cameras pre-amps. And I don't wanna use my headphone out cz I need it while recording. What type of cable or adapter would I need? I rlly should've bought the SSL2+ version I'm kicking my ass cz 1. it would have a separate rca output and it would have a midi interface..
WOW! So that’s how we see these UA-camrs film there music and it sounds as if it’s coming from a PC or mixer. Thanks! We learn something new everyday!

You saved me from buying a $600 Sony preamp handle - and now I can use my 1073s and my studio mics!

I just have 1 XLR input on my audio interface - the beachtek pro plus. Can you please help me figure out how to get them connected?
You can follow the steps on this video but just connect the 1 input on your beachtek. It will be mono, but that's okay.
@@kettnercreative ok thank you!
If you have an interface like a uad apollo 8 with two headphone outputs, can you use them for stereo?

can you do a tutorial on how to do with Arturia minifuse 4
How can I connect 2 microphones to SSL 2 and zve10
I recently acquired an audio technica BP40 & GOXLR. It would greatly appreciated if you can do a setup video. Thank you

Please show how to connect Zoom Q8n 4k camcorder with audio interface and mobile. Does this camera requires camera interface or not

You’d have to use an aux output from your powered mixer
@@kettnercreative thank you so much. But if I had a non powered mixer it should worked fine right ?

Dude! Love the vids!
Awesome info.
I am trying to connect to my camera from my audio interface but it would be for recording electric guitar audio. Can I use the same methods?

HELP- When I connect my XLR mic to my interface and then interface to camera this way I only get audio on the left. How can I make this stereo?
Use your direct monitoring button to toggle between mono, stereo, etc.
Is connecting the audio interface into the camera kill audio syncing time
Great video. Do you offer consulting?
Good looks 💯
Bro This video don’t say much about how to connect it to the camera, for a video podcast. I don’t wanna do the sync audio
When the audio interface is connected to my MacBook Pro, do I change any settings in the computer?
Thank you for your videos
My pleasure!

Unless you're making really long runs....impedance is not a concern with most modern gear. I got this from Focusrite themselves.
