The Rumble part of the amp have been removed. So I decided to see what this Rumble would sound like just with the speaker. I was surprised how good it sounded.
Your positioning of the mic is why it's bright sounding. That position is good for brighter guitar tones, but for low end or warmer tones, you need to aim the mic more towards the edge of the cone. I like to center the mic over the dust cone, straight out, the tilt the mic to about 2/3 - 3/4 of the way towards the edge of the cone. As for the cab, pull the speaker and line the cab with some sort of acoustic lining. I used Poly-Fil quilt liner doubled over and stapled in place. With the stock speaker line the bottom and one side. This will tighten up the mids for a cleaner, more controlled tone. Also, don't push that speaker too hard, it's not meant for a 300 watt amp. It was designed for use in the little 40 watt combo.
This lil cab is a bit of a sleeper, even the amp is excellent. Great video!
