Was surprised Jason did not take auspex as an investigator.
I was more confused about the undercover agent with only average composure.
Did he claim to be a good undercover agent? Or maybe he was so bad at it no one thought he could actually be undercover so he succeeded. :p

And I expect this to be at least 50 episodes. The characters are pretty interesting. So I'm ready to see so much more.

I'd watch a full series of this - I guess it rings true that if you were to pick five random people in Seattle, two of em would be artists, and one of them would be a barista?
Just wondering could you do one with ,changeling the lost ,and maybe werewolf the apocalypse?
We are still waiting on the W5 corebook, which is apparently in the works. Changeling will be longer as will Mage, Wraith, and Demon. Vampire and Werewolf were always the two most popular lines in WOD.
To have dementation it's required have obfuscate 2. It's a amalgam power.
Yup, Malkavians have had their madness... somewhat curbed in. At least the non-sabbat ones. Hence why Dementation is a power under Domination that requires a few levels of Obfuscation, rather than a full path on it's own.

I played Vampire The Masquerade in 90's, I played Under Red Blood Moon / Chicago By Night the 2nd edition.
I wish jasmine was helping me make characters and running role play games in my time of playing RPG’s lol

man I kinda wish we could see a liveplay series with this coterie and ST.
Nice to see the guy playing an FBI agent pass up Auspex in favor of Blood Sorcery (Thaumaturgy). Although the edition may have changed some things will always stay the same.
I would have taken Auspex and Dominate unless I had a specific plan for the Blood Sorcery.
@@Tletna you have to remember that Thaumaturgy gives rituals and Paths that can recreate almost any other discipline.(caveat in 1st, 2nd, and Anniversary at least.
As this is Jason Charles Miller, the "old" pro in roleplaying, I expect he very much has a specific plan for using Blood Sorcery.
A Tremere without Blood Sorcery is called "Expendable." You are dealing with a Clan that has. Hierarchy based on one's mastery of Thaumaturgy, The Pyramid may have lost its capstone, but it still stands.

Had an idea for a toreador coffin maker who absolutely loves wood carving and is charming, but with a morbid sense of humor and can come across as creepy at times
Given the coffin maker, maybe Hecata would fit more?
@@Cyb3rM1nd Wanted to lean in more with the macabre artistic side of funeral work, but Hecata is definitely a solid pick. Thought of a mortician who feeds on dead bodies that come in to drain them as part of the embalming process.

@@Konuvis Technically it's called an ankh, not a cross, but yes, it is a symbol of life. It is not the Camarilla ankh specifically, so yeah nothing to do with V:tM or the Masquerade :)

Super late and probably irrelevant, but they missed one of the key aspects of touchstones. Touchstones and Convictions are intrinsically linked, your touchstones hold you to humanity by reminding you of your convictions. They either exemplify that conviction or affected your kindred's life in a way that inspired them to have that belief
I too am a Vampire the Masquerade fan and bought the rule book. There are no games or fans of the game in my KS area, so I would have LOVED to join your team as a Vampire!! I LOVE the dark, mysterious, creepy so much, my DnD campaign was an UNDEAD campaign.
The son's of Malkav told me that the thinnest of Thin Bloods glitter in moon light
Malkav always did have a twisted sense of humor.. encouraging a few thin bloods to meet the dawn does seem like his kind of practical joke.

I liked last character (toreador) the most. It seemed the most consistent and colorful.

A little late, but imho I think Discord would be your best bet. I know you can find tons of DnD games on there if you know where to look... But I don't know where to look beyond that

This is going to be starter kit but it is on Alpha behind the pay wall (not sure if it comes onto youtube eventually) this is a series of people (mostly new to game) and have effectively a tutorial series.

@@larrysain7873 Not sure if you know this will make 2 series about vampire on alpha about vampire, this one which is only (which is like a basic entry game) on alpha and Vampire : the Masquerade LA by night which is also on twitch. Just thought I would mention it you likely know but others may not. :) Some times they do put these shows on UA-cam but well after they appear on the other channels.
The Ventrue can’t take dementation, that’s an amalgam power with obfuscate
She gets Obfuscate from Sandman predator type. So, it's fine.

not in Vampire. Only very young and/or highly human vampires are even capable of having sex, much less have any interest in it.
There is also the time honored tradition of just faking it.
@@unnamedenemy9 you don't need to have sex to be sexual. I would say that quite a few clans use sex as a tool. I also imagine feeding being mush like a sexual encounter.

The question i have with the Zellan: Why would a Ventrue embrace a barrista/failed filmmaker. Sounds more like a Toreador to me. ^^
Zellan failing at becoming a filmmaker and becoming a simple barista lead them to wanting power, I think a Ventrue could understand the urge to be in charge
A young politician ...a promising merchant .....an offspring of a once noble family would be a better choice for a Ventrue to sire someone .......power hunger alone is not enough for this elitist clan ..and this only as an exception compared to Vetrue normal targets : rich, famous, powerful.
One's career choices are less important than a person's ambition when it comes to a Ventrue. They are drawn to people who crave power and want more from their place in the world, typically the rich/powerful but not always. Sometimes it can also just boil down to an obsession with the particular person.. like my ex's Tremere character, her biological mother was an occult obsessed researcher that didn't want to let go of her daughter after the Embrace, despite the daughter in life being more the type you would expect to be turned by a Brujah. Knowing my character was suspicious about the whole thing, she called in a boon to have me embraced by a Gargoyle, despite being the more logical Tremere as I was her research assistant in life.
A non-binary, barrista, failed filmmaker. That's pretty far from a Ventrue. A more suitable clan would be Malkavian to add to the madness.

I would've loved to watch this. Game.
Composer and resolve are new variation traits opposed to (Appearance and Perception) and those two new variant traits are now what decides what your characters Willpower is going to be. Personally I feel that this would effect my decision process to an extent. Willpower is very important in this game and I feel that this new element is forcing me to use these two new traits. It almost assures that I would put my 4 into one of them and one of my 3's into the other.

welp, time to resub to alpha to watch this and relics and rarities. saw Jasmine running a vampire one shot and it was great. plus JCM going back to his roots a little is awesome.

You should. White-Wolf system is fun and has a rich backstory. Also there's Vampire: The Dark Ages if you prefer not to have a game set in modern day.

A Tremere wouldn't be a cartel lord. That's more a Brujah type.
Is it really that improbable?
A clan doesn't entrench themselves in the camarilla and not just becoming tools by stirring a pot of blood all night. They know a thing or 2 about power.
Controlling a cartel would mean the chantry could acquire rare, illegal and sometimes taboo(at least to kindred) ingredients and relics without relying on someone else. And plenty of gangs/cartels have been known to associate themselves within the occult and paganism real or not. Maybe one day a high ranked cartel member stumbles on to something real...

Wait, so is this in any way linked to LA by night? I had heard of LA by night but hadn't seen it due to not having alfa and assumed that these would be the characters for that game, but with the first episode on youtube now that's clearly not the case. Is the game these characters are in also getting streamed? I'm invested in the Tremere FBI agent and the Malkavian now!

I hope someone can help me out a little with this. Ive dabbled in the lore and the games but i have never got to play this kind. How does one join these kinds of groups? Are they online or something like that?
Have you found a group playing the game yet? If not, look up Vampire The Masquerade in your local area. Some groups play at different local places like card shops, comic book stores Or even libraries. Then again VTM has had various Live Action Role Play (LARP) groups spring up in larger cities so that might be something to look up. Or try making a post asking about it in a general forum on one of the many tabletop simulators on PC. If nothing else, the new video game Bloodlines 2 is coming out soon. That might quench your thirst for this world until then. Or watch Vampire the Masquerade: L.A. by Night right here on Geek and Sundry. It's pretty good so far.
im bookmarking this in depth because in a short while I'll be dming a campaing in the vtm world and have no clue whatsoever about anything hahaha, and this character creation "step by step" is helluva helpfull
Also recommend watching Jason Carl GMing LA by Night, he really is a master how to balance the styles of play in V5.
F*^yes. that campaing (and mostly Jason carl GMing) was the thing that lighted the spark to creating my own campaign
Where are all the violent feeding? Have they been censored out?
Depends what you mean by violent. The 'Alleycat' Predator type is pretty violent as you ambush people. 'Cleaver' type feeds on their family members and usually manipulates & gaslight them into letting you feed or outright taking blood from them. 'Siren' type also can take a violent turn as you feed during the act of Sex. 'Osiris' can also get pretty dicey.
So... Do we ever see these characters in action anywhere? Idk how starter kit works but I can't find an episode 1

So Nigel was "embraced while setting his art ablaze" in an enclosed space. So either Vampires aren't bothered by fire any more in 5th ed or his sire had no problem passing that Rötschreck test.
He was embraced by a Malkavian so obviously they weren't in their right mind.

So, now would be a really good time to convert this lets play over to Requiem 2e. You know, what with the massive controversies surrounding New White Wolf, the fact that New White Wolf will shortly no longer exist, and that V5 is now dead in the water.
I'd love to see a professional VTR game with lots of covenant action. G&S's L.A. by Night (VTM5 is pretty damn good). I wish VTR got that much love.
It isn't dead in the water.. they handed over control to Modiphius who was producing the physical copies anyway. They rereleased the Anarch and Camarilla books after clearing the offensive content, I literally just got the new versions. World of Darkness will continue under them.. they have already announced new V5 sourcebooks in the works.
.. no Nosferatu? I´d love to see them use Malkavian as a spy.. then listen to story about space turtle flying in jelly bean river of time..

I really hope Jason Carl awnsers, but please if everyone could just help me with something. I have no clue to where to start, I meant in the lore, history, characters! What is the V5 is that you all keep talking about? Because of the game Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines, I liked the way things look, but that's it, there is more lore? What is I need to buy to read and keep on track if things? Just watched episode 7 from the series L.A. by night, and in the series some people sayed that Ramona has a history and I don't even meet her in the game. Just.. where do I start? 😢
Well since Jason didn't I will.. if you want to read the lore you are looking at like a hundred books spread over several editions and game lines known as Vampire, Werewolf, Changeling, Wraith, Mummy, Mage, and Demon (think I got them all LOL) all of which are interconnected. V5 is the latest version of Vampire, with only 3 books currently out that make references to the last several decades of books. I would suggest reading the fandom lore site if you don't want to spend a small fortune, but that is not the most in depth approach. With White Wolf being taken apart for poor choices in regards to controversy you have to wait for them to bring back the older books PDF versions under Modiphius who will continue producing V5 from now on (they were the physical printer of the books already). The older book PDFs were offered for pretty cheap so won't break the bank unlike buying hard copies which are hard enough to get as is.

Thank you for answering and.. yeah I found some PDFs they are talking about the clans in each book a situation, some talked about gahenna and I was very confused, I got the baby lore through the game. But that's it. I will wait for those new prints like you said, and what site is it fandom lore site?
You can Start with the Vampire the Masquerade 5th edition corebook also know as the V5 corebook.
Next I suggest getting the Anarch & Camarilla books. I'm currently reading the Anarch book and if you played Bloodlines 1 you will see a lot of familiar references to characters from the game and it will really help you to immerse yourself as a newcomer.
I didn't know Jason Charles Miller was in Godhead :O
