When I was about 4 or 5 years old, I had a little keyboard made for children. There were also some default songs. This one was one of them. And I totally fell in love with this song.

After every rock concert, when the house lights came up on a Bill Graham Presents production, he played Greensleeves for the audience to exit the venue with. Helped calm the crowd, and everyone was very well behaved. The man was a genius.

The original title should be Greensleeves, also according to the fact that it was credited to Henry VIII which wrote this for one of his lovers (which had, indeed, a Green dress). In my country, though, the title is often trasported in Green Leaves, referred to the colors of England nature, way more green than Italy. While arranging and playing I couldn't help thinking of England and Scotland colors, so I decided to put Green Leaves :-)
Henry VIII didn't write this. It is a myth.
He said "it was credited". That actually means nothing to attribute to HVIII de facto
i was wondering that about the title, cool, ,,,, but henry VIII , is credited with writing words to a melody that had been floating for a while , it was done as gift to ann boleyn ,her family's color was green, so to tell the courtiers apart , they would often wear their family color on a piece of clothing, so the king could easily say, dude , hook me up with the chick in the green sleeves ,without having to come up with an elaborate description ,they know this because the letter containg the poem and music was found, and dated at the time he was courting ann boleyn, and i was there, yes , i'm that old

I had a music box when i was a child and it played this song (instrumental of course) and I've loved it ever since then. I've been searching for the exact, most perfect version of this song and when i came across this one, it just was overwhelmingly beautiful. Well done!
