Hi Just a thought before seriously thinking about moving to scotland see it in winter. The winters are long dark and very cold and wet at the same time, when i say dark although we get alot of daylight in summer we get 16 hours of darkness alot of people simply cant handle that.
You are good in front of the camera and the trip you filmed is one we've done, in various sections, many times over many years. But you are young so I can't expect you to know everything about the UK. But the North West Highlands and Assynt are, in my view, the best. Gairloch, Poolewe, Ullapool, Lochinver but also a trip to Dornoch on the West (or Dingwall where they have a MASSIVE Tesco and where you can learn to support the only league team north of Inverness, the mighty Ross County - come on you Staggies!). Next time drive up. The A9 through the Cairngorms must be one of the most picturesque roads and there are places to stop, distilleries to see.... Dunkeld ("Are we in the Highlands, yet?"), Pitlochry, Dalwhinnie and its distillery, Boat of Garten, Inverness, Dingwall, Dornoch.... Lots to see and places to visit!
Hello. A video of your channel somehow found its way onto my feed. Having a wee catch up of your recent videos. They are a delight. Thank you for your kind words regarding my wee country. So glad you have had an absolute blast here. The Highlands are simply magical, even to us Lowlanders. The pace of life seems just that bit slower and more relaxed the further north you go. It never fails to inspire and captivate me. Maybe try some more of our islands next time if its the remoteness you crave. Haste ye back . 🏴
Though Scotland is a dream destination of mine, i am very intolerant of cold temperatures. I think even Scottish summers would still be too cold for me, lol. But thankfully, your Scotland vlogs made me feel like I was actually there with you such that I think i'm pretty much content even if I don't actually get to visit it. I know some would say watching a video isn't enough. But that's really how I feel so why stir up discontent in those who've found contentment. Plus you're people i've been watching for years so there's already some sort of connection, why I (and probably most people who follow you) feel like they're actually traveling with you.
Yes, it's cold, wet, windy and mostly grey sky. But the occasional blue sky and sun do appear now and then in the "summer" and make it all worthwhile. I wouldn't swap it for all the sun in Florida.
Scotland is lovely. You should do more of the bc 500 then on to Orkney then Shetland. East of Scotland is Lovely too. I’m living in east of Scotland. Lots of Scotland is safe to go swimming, depending how deep you want to go into a lock/ lake. Please come back to Scotland please. I’m on royal deeside. I prefer countryside then city life. X
Glad you's enjoyed your stay up here in Scotland, looked like you's had a fantastic time despite the recent tumultuous sporadic weather and if you's return at any stage, the Isle of Mull is also something you's may enjoy.
Thanks for sharing your Highland adventure with us guys, it's been amazing following you though all that beautiful Scottish scenery, so glad you enjoyed it ❤
If you ever get near Golspie on The North Sea coast its really worth a visit. The village itself is beautiful ,the beach is gold white sand and spotless for many the Crowning Glory is Dunrobin Castle it looks like something out of a fairy tale and it has visitor access.. There are plenty pictures of it online if you want a look see.
So enjoyed this vlog from the three of you! Safe journey back to England. I now live in the borders and have to say the West is the best, though the east has a lot of roaming hills and is still beautiful. The west is more rugged, and the East a bit more gentle is how I would describe it!
I enjoyed watching your videos showing the west coast of Scotland and really glad you all enjoyed yourselves, once you get away from the madness of the Central Belt it is a different world, you seem to be a happy caring family all the very best of luck to you 👍
Loch Ness holds more water than all the lakes and reservoirs in England & Wales combined. Shame you've experienced probably the worst summer in recent memory!
It always amazes me when the hosepipe bans come into play down south as even England get enough rain , it’s purely down to the private water companies which are polluting all their rivers killing the ecosystem. It’s actually criminal what the water board is getting away with . I would fine them hundreds of millions to start a new recovery program for all the polluted rivers .
Scotland is really beautiful and I especially love the the rocky clifts. Koda is getting so big and I am glad he loved the van life. Little disappointed you didn't see the Loch Ness Monster. I was looking forward to that :)
Hope next time you're up you get to explore more of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs (the eastern side of Loch Lomond is fantastic), as well as the Oban area, Mallaig and the Hebrides. Airbnbs aren't particularly popular with the locals in many places... for example, I can't buy, nor even rent a house in the village I've lived in my whole life because there's so many airbnbs here now. A friend and I did the NC500 anticlockwise back in 2020, but the next year we did roughly what you did - some of the western part of the NC500 plus Skye. I hope you had a proper look around Luss, it's such a pretty village.
I've really enjoyed watching your trip round Scotland and glad the changeable weather didn't put you off. Koda is such a happy kid and so lucky to have such wonderful parents. But the comment about moving here so you can get a bigger house didn't sit well with me I'm afraid.
@@TheJuicyVlog I believe if people want to relocate to Scotland it should be because they have a genuine affinity with the country and not just because they can benefit materially or financially by moving.
@rickleys6766 absolutely, too many people have moved here from England and not embraced the actual culture of Scotland. We're not only beautiful views, we have a unique history. I won't get too political, but some Border and Highland villages have been appropriated by English incomers and they've imposed English sensibilities on the local culture. We really are a different country. You're welcome, just respect our ways. Thanks for your interest.

@@TheJuicyVlog Hi. Thanks for asking me to reply. I have actually just typed a very long reply, which does not seem to have arrived. I'll try to do a shorter reply here. I'm English born, lived in Edinburgh for 64 years, so I feel Scottish. I love my English family in Somerset, but they do have a strange view of Scottish people, though most of them have never been here. The experience of most of my friends here, some of them also born in England or having had an English parent (we're all in our 70's) is that a lot of the English folk who come to live in Scotland see us as England -lite. Many don't make an effort to discover the cultural differences and have imported their own pastimes and clubs in the community they have moved into. You will have to live here for a while to see the differences, but I ask that you would respect the differences. The leading politicians in Westminster are the worst for showing their contempt for what they consider an inferior nation. That sounds defensive and I know that most English folk either don't think that, or have no interest in anything not English. My sister in Shropshire goes to Barn Dances, having lived in Scotland until she was 22, she knows the difference between that and a Ceilidh. A lot of English incomers ignore that difference. that's the only comparison I'm going to make, but you do need to do some research as the history of the two countries, Scotland and England have not been the same all through history. We learn about Henry the eightth, I don't think the history of Scotland at that time is taught in English schools, at least not in my understanding of the education of my Somerset grandnieces and nephews.
