Another Marine here... Although presented fairly well, the story begs further development. Why didn't the aliens retreat to orbit and bombard the planet flat? I know that Humans would have dug deeply into the 'bones of the world' to weather such bombardment if given time. In fact, while operations were going on 'in the field' against alien soldiers, world governments would have turned every resource to digging deeply and filling such excavations with as many people as possible, along with as much technology as could be moved and implemented. No mention of such an occurrence or occurrences happened in the story. Possibly, in order to focus on the Marines. After the aliens retreat, Humanity would work tirelessly to 'gain the high ground'. Building orbital defenses against any further invasion. The entire Solar System would become a deadly minefield, as well as have multiple staging areas for space-based counterattacks. The story does not specify if Alien ships were 'taken', in whole, or salvaged wrecks. The Marines would have put the obtaining of such as a high priority mission, to enable them to counter Alien threats, especially orbital attacks. By finding a way to counter Alien shields, the Marines and others would make the Alien's ships vulnerable to attack, and further make them wary of Humans and their fiendish inventiveness and adaptability. Post story, Humanity would have turned its Solar System into a vast 'killing field', to reduce any invasion force as much as possible before they ever encountered Orbital Defenses. The Aliens seem to rely upon energy-based defensive and offensive systems. They would be ill-prepared for solar-powered, gigantic Rail Guns, and C-Fractional, nuclear-tipped missiles. After all, what is the real difference between a multi-gigawatt laser and a rail-gun projectile? Both deliver the same energy at impact. Do the math. Just a few thoughts.
VERY generic and VERY repetitive. There are only so many ways you can say they underestimated the marines...and you managed to say each and every one 5 times over.
invaders relied on superior tech X 100, marines fought for their very way of life etc. etc. X 100. I get it. This is a love note to the US Marines but a big old insult to every other fighting force the world over.

US Marines recruitment video 😂😂😂 almost no story to tell but if you spend most of the time hacking up is Marines the minutes add up. Sounded like a school paper that had to be 32 min long so just repeat Marines are the best 5000 times makes a great filling material.
This is a stupid story. They keep saying the same sentences over and over. This ain't a story, it's a stretched out paragraph. This one sucks. Who is this page? I'm gonna make sure I don't follow them
This is simply an outline-ish thing. Just a very bare bones mess of a quasi-story that an author might wish to fleash-off and write, and then it repeats. Lol! No characters, and so there's certainly no character development. It's not even to the point that we could call it an actual story.
