speaking of "umbrellas in a meteor shower" HOW do they go thru space without something (like a sheild) that can deflect bits of stone and metal going fast?
Corret. Had the same thought. What stupid space traveling liveform does not have shields to protect them from meteorids? As faster you fly through space, as more the risk to hit something. Rocks or metal does not matter. So any interstellar civilisation have to have defense against kinetic "projectils". Because every object you cross at high speed is a kinetic projectile. However, a space ship mostly need to be protected in flight direction (front) permanently. To the other sides defection is only needed at slow motion or "starionary" position when an object is detected. You might overload the meteroid detection and defense system there if sending a significant higher density of objects than normaly found in space. Still, not detecting human kinetic weapons and not destroy any of them is totally nonesense. Kinetic weapons might have a surprise effect once. But they have no future in warefare, as the front of an interstellar ship already have to have perfect defense at the front anyway to be able to travel at high speed. So they already have the defense technology needed. Just "upgrading" shields are needed for the other sides of their ships.
Could be that their quantum computers are always calculating the known universe/galaxy for objects that they could hit, so they just fly around them by auto pilot or perhaps their method of travel is based on warping to their new location which is basically teleportation by changing the way space works and bypasses all the potential dings on their hull when traveling. They could also be using a material that reflects most natural objects in space like a magnet but not objects that are not naturally magnetized like a uranium rod. To be honest, I have no clue if uranium is magnetic but I have a feeling it is not because if I remember right there are only 7 natural metals that are magnetic but it has been awhile since I did chemistry. The idea still remains though either way because the universe is made up of very similar things and while the ratio changes a slight amount of a magnetic material will still get pushed away if a strong enough magnet is used. They should realistically have a hull capable of withstanding at least a few hits but perhaps their tech was a bit to good that they decided to downsize. Can't really ask them due to it being fiction, but it is a good theory because even in our society, we keep downsizing old technologies.
It's a bit strange that they can achieve space flight but can't deal with what is essentially purposely built micro/small-meteor. Something that is actually quite common near planetary bodies.
yeah, attacked before testing against bullets which they said they would do, then analysis of bullets and wooden box blabla, then again attack, last part "enhancing" bullets with stuff which was against the kiss principle
Someone walked through their defenses into their command area but was in an A-10, 5 minutes later? Ma Deuce, otherwise known as the Browning M-2 .50 caliber automatic rifle, does NOT have a trigger. You do NOT "pull the trigger", you depress the firing paddle with your thumb. The people that consume this product should not know more "off hand" than an author that supposedly researched for their story. The M-2 is a CENTURY in service. About 40 militaries use this weapon and have for 5 GENERATIONS.
If I remember, it said new Washington, meaning there might be a 50-200 year gap, if they still use A10 warthog, which is a plane made in the 1970s and facing retirement for over 20 years, I think Fairchild republic and General Electric did something right, they didn’t cook their steak rare, they made it mythical, a plane made 100-250 years ago still being used
Whoever keeps posting this story and it's variants... 1. Aliens shields could deal with sublight rocks. They would deal with bullets. 2. Bullets or artillery shells are lethal due to kinetic energy. Energy is still energy. A slow velocity rocket that detonated inside a shield would be far more compelling. This said plasma guns antimatter whatever also is just energy. Whatever system puts the most energy on target wins.
Immediately after authorizing the "test", I think the phrase was "you have one solar cycle before we commence the invasion". The VERY NEXT LINE spoke about ships in Earth's atmosphere. What happened to the test? They decided to invade first, then test? Either the "Council" or the author is stupid. I'm going to continue, but if another blatantly ignorant supposition is made, I cannot, in good conscience, patronize this channel.
Celestial Hubris. A great name for a ship, and excellent foreshadowing. And I love the military exercise.
Nice touch with the A10 cannon lol
Yeah! Anyone else hear "Thunderstruck" or "Kick start my Heart" playing in the background at that bit?

"Shield".
I haven't watched the video yet but much of space is VERY empty.
Shielding against plasma is the easy part, but shielding against a projectile traveling at 1/10th light speed? That's something else.
It's a bit strange that they can achieve space flight but can't deal with what is essentially purposely built micro/small-meteor.
Something that is actually quite common near planetary bodies.
And humans will STILL use the 1911, AK, AR, GPMG/M240, M82, GAU-8 and Ma-Deuce!!
... with camera appearances by "Buff" and "the Kid"
The good ol' Ma-Duece, still rockin' and rollin' over a century later.
Why not? The B-52's going to be around for at least Space War 1. Why? Cause Buff's got the stuff.
There is a strange continuation problem in this story, feels like two different stories.
I think this is an A.I. generated story, and it forgot what it was doing half way through. Pretty common.

@14:10 Humans brought a shotgun AKA a Street Sweeper. Imagine their reactions to a "Chicago Typewriter" (AKA Thompson Sub-Machine Gun)
I didn't know I needed to hear the narrator's impression of a GAU Avenger cannon...

Like the Asgard, the aliens underestimated human projectile weaponry. Fortunately, the Asgard liked us.
you know, this story about following precursors tech evolution reminds me of Mass Effect. FTL Travel completely stomped because the mass relays exist.
I'm confused - first, there is talk of Alliances, then boom, there are more attacks?
A great story
So, the aliens are drilling on Earth, and the Earthlings are blowing them out of the skies. Some “drill”.
Rocks don't need power or suddenly refuse to work

"side" said, "the fatal floor" flaw and many other errors
Daka?
No such thing as too much dakka
Yes Rico
Dakka
kinetic weapons
The damn donkey is running backwards in this one. Fight after conference.
Lol...... they have a fleet.... we have the Warthog.
Only if the video can be played
🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Questions just curious because why is that almost all stories tend to have female commanders than male ones?
ftl nukes any one?
Its produce magnetic field and million degrees of heat so it's like plasma bomb.
Why purposely leave such a giant plot hole. Who tried to set up the whole galaxy, I hate stories that ends like this.
The Reapers.
