Great video,thank you, do you know at this stage if Neo will be as quick or quicker than Lum 4 , i purchased Lum AI but it was so slow,i had to get my money back.I have ordered Neo,early bird,but just hope that i wont have to claim money back on that aswell.
I pre-ordered neo purely for the dust and power line removal. I constantly clean my lenses and sensors but find that dust still creeps in. After I photographed an airshow, I spent more time removing dust than I did actually processing my photos. This will save a ton of time.
I just hope we'd be able to right click a photo in Luminar AI and select "edit in Neo" so we can use those functions while organizing our photos in the Luminar AI catalog.
First of all: really great video. Thank you very much. It helped me with my decision whether I should pre-order Neo or not.
I bought Luminar 4 back then and really liked it. It wasn‘t just a Lightroom alternative, in my opinion it was even better (my opinion, not everyone's).
When Luminar AI came out I was even more impressed by the way they included so much AI but the Editor still has full control. I really liked, that it is very easy to use but also provides enough Features for more „pro“ photographers.
With NEO now they try to include functions for more creative editing, which I really like. I don’t think, Neo will replace Photoshop (at least for me) but it will probably be a nice extra to Photoshop for edits to complex for Luminar AI.
I bought all of these products each year in pre-order sale and blackfriday sale together. Since I own L4 I even get more discount because i‘ve already bought a product. With all these sales added together I paid only 54€ for Neo, which is a perfect price for such a powerful application.
I hope Neo is as good as described on their website and I am really looking forward to try it out. But in my experience Skylum usually even topped my expectations.

I buy Luminar 3 with Photolemur 2. Less than a year later they release Luminar 4. I buy Luminar 4 and photolemur 3 because I told myself the third was probably at the end of his lifecycle.
Less than a year later they release Luminar Ai. I just bought Luminar Ai less than 6 months ago.
Now they are releasing LUMINAR NEO!! instead of at least updating Luminar Ai for at least another 6 months...
Seriously, they lost me this time. I will take the time to learn Affinity photo even if it is a LOT more complex. I know it is more powerful and they are not going to release another version in 6 months.
At least for now they are not releasing a new Aurora HDR every year... (I hope I am not giving them ideas)
Sorry to hear that Seb, I have not been with Skylum as long as you, but I will say even with the new software, it still works out great value for money compared with software like Lightroom

Does Luminar Ai work alongside Lightroom? Or does it get confusing with 2 different catalogs? If you make changes to a photo in one, does it update in the other catalog! I’m used to using LR and PS and excited by the look of Luminar but just slightly confused as to how they’ll all work together?
Hi Lorraine, the good news is yes it does. So you can apply Luminar AI as a plugin and then use the ""Edit In" option inside Lightroom to carry on editing your image in Luminar AI, this is then saved in your Lightroom Catalogue as a separate file next to the original, with the new changes made in Luminar AI. I hope I have explained that clearly, but it is very easy to do and is what I do regularly. I think I will make a video showing this actually 🙂👍

Seems like everyone is getting into the Adobe model, annual payment vs monthly payment; Topaz, Nik Collection, now Skylum. My interest revolves around sky replacment, so Luminar AI it is. Thanks for sharing.
Tip: get 4 and AI on humble bundle for much cheaper at the moment!

I'll stick with L4 thank you. Even bought Affinity, which is more powerful and I'm tending to use it more and more. Plus updates for free, for life.

Why do you think that Luminar Neo has no Catalog?
Recently found out it will include a catalogue now, which is great news 👍
They basically ditched Luminar AI, and it's not going to get any new features, it lived for a year. Now they are working on Luminar NEO which is based on Luminar AI code base, so any new features that Luminar NEO will have could have been added to Luminar AI, but they chose to create a brand-new product. It's a total bs that Luminar AI can't have all of NEO's features, if you look at the fist Luminar NEO reviews it's basically a Luminar AI, they didn't even change Luminal AI logo at first.

At this point i don't trust skylum anymore, they will probably obsolete luminar neo in 2023 or 2024 too (and come up with new monetization ideas)
