Sold! I used Your link. Cheers!
I've been using Luminar Neo since its launch. I agree with all your comments. As a hobbyist photographer, I find it powerful and easy to use.
Your examples are all global adjustments...sliders, denoise, etc. How effective is the software to automatically select the subject for masking?
I have been looking at purchasing luminar neo for a while. You have answered many of my concerning questions except two...Is it really a one time purchase for life? And is it truly a reliable photo editing software? Please reply thanks.
Wish you the best!
Thanks for your precious help!
One awesome reason not to get it is that it seems to do all the important things on the main thread. What does this mean? when desktop software does all of the internal processing using the same processing space (thread) that they use to draw the user-interface on the screen, it means that every time there is a hold-up, the screen freezes. For example, with Luminar, it goes to access a file like a video and then it takes ages to do anything with it (particularly if the file is on a slower disk) and the whole time, the screen has gone pale (which is it's way of letting you know that it's busy) and you can't do anything until it has worked out what it needs to work out with the file. If you happen to have added a folder with video, well this is going to cause problems because neo doesn't understand many video formats (codecs) so it takes ages trying to render it and then eventually gives up. When I say "ages", I mean minutes - in many cases, as many minutes as it's going to take for you to give up and take drastic measures to end the program so that you can actually get some work done with your computer. It doesn't learn either, if it cannot play a video file, it doesn't remember that it was unplayable - it will hapily lock up your system yet again when it encounters it the next time too.
Neo is a sophisticated tool with lots of features and quite a experienced pedigree - but none of these means anything if the software becomes unusable at the most benign trigger (common situation). It completely destroys any flow you might be hoping to have in being productive with it. And I am using it on a 13th generation i9 processor with 32GB of ram and a fast SSD.
Putting everything on the main thread for your GUI application is a really rookie mistake. It's unbelievable that Luminar does this.
The one feature I hope Luminar implement is lens profile correction instead of relying on their auto lens AI correction.
Luminar Neo still does not support Nikon High Efficiency format RAW files. They will not process refunds if you purchased expecting file support like you get from all the other apps like Lightroom. They promise they will add the support in the "future" but will not let you pause your subscription until that happens. NIKON SHOOTERS STAY AWAY.
Thank you for saving me time 🙏🏽
Edit raws in Lightroom then add images to the program. Not too complex and im already doing this with topaz.
Oh no, exactly the comment I didn't want to see
Oops! I just about to purchase and saw your comment. Thanks for saving us.
Is Luminar Neo perpetual license for all version even future updates or only for the current version. Got burnt once by Capture One when my license didnt carry over for future versions.
does lifetime license allow you to install on 2 pcs? also can you switch from windows to mac with this license?
Good bro..This video is super helpful! I'm an intermediate photographer and I've been wanting to try out some new editing software. Luminar Neo sounds like a great option, especially with the AI editing tools and the fact that it's a one-time purchase
Appreciate you bud. 👊 Shoot me an email I have a free license for you.
@@StefanMalloch oh cool sure bro
Did you try it? Looks interesting
@@TimLeary-rw3oq not yet
The thing I appear to be missing is layers and layer masks allowing me to blend images of seascapes - am I wrong - is this possible in Luminar?
Can you print with n colour management and paper profiles? Thanks
Has anyone used this Luminar Neo with Fuji Raw files? If you have, how does it do with sharpening and denoising?
My xt5 files work great on it
they could fix the AI servers first...
I know Skylum. I have never heard of you though.
I feel Apple should buy over this company and improve on it
After what Apple did to Aperture, no thanks.
You certainly love the sound of your own voice. A 4 minute video that if you remove all the waffle is only around a minute long. Painfull
I'm not sponsored by luminar Neo but here's a discount code for you ....😒 Brother why are you lying
An affiliate link and sponsorship are not the same.
@@StefanMalloch technically you could argue it is not a sponsorship - but really yes it is, it is just the worst kind, (the begging/lying kind that only pays after a sale) which means you can't give an honest review or opinions if you want to make money.
every sale through an affiliate link gives $10-40 (depending on the sale and deal with Skylum - the more you sell the bigger the cut and perks) meaning he does not make money if no one buys - this leads to the obvious lies and omissions
simple fact if your earnings depend on people getting convinced by your sales spiel while hawking a product - especially one with plenty of issues that need fixing - you are not going, to be honest or truthful.
Furthermore, you must sign up to be an affiliate and get codes and money.
a situation where the affiliate link is not obviously sponsorship - if you let's say you did talk about Neo - but the link was for a rebate on a microphone
because at the end of the day, you are getting paid by Skylum if this video convinces anyone to buy through the link - see how that incentivizes dishonesty like this
Let me give one huge reason NOT to buy: Its crazy unstable!! Wasted so much time with this program
