    I actually bought it on this years Summer Sale, plus my ”special price” landed at around 50$, amazing price for this!
    I use it for some of it’s functionality to complement my Adobe software and when I just want to make super quick adjustments to mobile photos.
    It’s really great! Now I kind of wish there was a mobile variant, at least for iOS. 🐲 Would work wonderfully on the new iPads(M1, M2) and iPhones.

    Very nice video, I learned a lot as I had given up on Neo before this video. Thanks. One thing though, On a MAC Neo as a plugin to Affinity Photo does not work. I understand it works on windows. This is a shortcoming that has been present in previous Luminar products and is unfortunate. Neo IMHO doesn't replace Affinity Photo but could enhance it if the plugin worked on a MAC.

    I really wish the Luminar line was available as plugins for Premiere, as well. Working with standard dynamic ranges and compressed video formats, sometimes simple color grading just doesn't cut it. You can get the same effects with a lot of work and some other third party plugins, but nothing as quick or as high-quality as what you're showing here. I'd love to have this as a tool in my video editing arsenal.

    • @PiXimperfect
      @PiXimperfect  2 роки тому +8

      That would be so excellent to see. The only problem is that these effects take a lot of power to process just one image. Applying it on a video would be equivalent to applying it on every frame, which may be very time-consuming. Besides, finding a way to equalize the effects in each frame is also a challenge because these sliders react differently to a simple change and the resultant footage can be jittery. If they can find a way to optimize it for video, it would be a breakthrough!

    Luminar always seems to add artefacts to my photos. Although I have it, I’ve lost faith in it. Opening an image in neo is not non-destructive. It removes small details and makes raw images look like jpegs. Ok for social media I guess but I wouldn’t touch it with anything I want to print. Stick to capture one and photoshop if you value the details in your photos. Neat features at the expense of quality imho.

    Mask AI is amazing. (i have Neo since day 1 and see it is getting better with every update, now at 1.0.7).
    having said that: is there a way to cut out the selected masked person (in my case, so the perfectly masked human) AND then layer it on another image (brought in thru "add new layer" button on the upper left).
    have been trying to achieve that, but i asmit that i am failing.

With the progress in AI field the very skill of post-processing images/videos will become obsolete. Who needs a middleman, when you can just pull out your iPhone, take a shot, push a button, choose which option from neural network you like the best and post it on Instagram. That's the future. Many people already can't understand why you need a decent camera, when you have a smartphone. Simplifying everything is not entirely a good thing.

      @@evgeniydeus8137 I actually do agree with your comments which is why I think we need both options. Those of us with high pro aspirations will diligently work to hone our craft and take it to the next level by evolving our vision and personal mastery. I still aspire to get there myself (if I ever will). Personal vision should always remain king, as this is what allows you to form and craft your photographic message. So, no, I don't believe AI should make my choices for me, but I sure appreciate the usefulness of AI tools to get me where I want with ease and speed. When it comes to people who do not believe in personal vision and don't like to edit, there is nothing you and I can do about them. Let's face it, the real craft of photography is not for everyone, but for the rest of us, nothing could replace the joy of navigating the creative process from beginning to end. The real message must come deep from within our hearts.

    What is the quality of the final files? Are gallery quality prints possible with Neo? Or, are the final files only suitable for the Internet? I may get the free trial to see how it works & print some files. So far, i haven't found focus stacking in Neo. Photoshop's sky replacement has problems.

      I have used it on R5 files and it has worked very well. One thing, if you start with raw, do your basic editing in develop, that edits in raw, after that all other edits are layers and are not raw.
