Not a big pokemon fan at all but to each thier own I guess, not sure if anyone should really care unless they love the franchise, hating on it is fine everyone has an opinion and if you don't like what you see keep your money in your pocket but most people are brand grabber's even if something looks like shit if someone slaps a name on it it'll get bought not sure about legends that game can go either way I think but the remakes look like it's aimed toward kids.

the reason every pokemon game after BW2 has been awful or arguably unfinished is because of the shift to 3D that they absolutely weren't equipped for, and still aren't. Also, they shot themselves in the foot with merchandise contracts and the Pokemon TCG deadlines that they are legally obligated to meet with new "generations" every few years. We're never gonna get quality in our games again because GameFreak and Pokemon literally sold their souls away for money. Pray to god we don't get Black and White 3 or whatever because it's gonna get the same lazy treatment as BDSP.
Ok first off....the 3DS games weren't awful and most weren't unfinished and the reason the newer games are what they are isn't because of the shift to 3D, they prepared for it and are getting better at it and they are equipped for it now. They didn't exactly sell their souls away for money....and we may get quality again.
Every recent Pokémon game that's come out in recent years have been lazy, uninspired, and un-motivated. They have re-used the exact same 3d animations for as long as I can remember, for example.

For everyone making excuses for the animations, presentation and lifeless open world, just look up the trailer for Shin Megami Tensei 5, a much more niche monster taming series(since a huge amount of people don't even know Persona is a spin off of it) that also let's you capture and evolve monsters, teach them moves and you can even fuse them in SMT, look at the animations in that trailer, now look back at these remakes and Legends, and try and tell me with a straight face that this is acceptable from the biggest media IP in the world. There is no defense for this unbelievable level of mediocrity.

I haven’t watched the video yet, I’m just gonna edit afterwards. :)
As far as I can tell, Pokémon Legends is still in development, and it is having to find a good-looking but unique open art style that isn’t cell-shading. Although releasing the footage as it is and running under the assumption that it being in development means it’ll change isn’t the best, as we saw what happened with SWSH. Yikes.
Gameplay wise, what I’ve seen so far looks fun! It’s a different ‘open-world’ from what SWSH tried to accomplish, something that the Pokémon series is in dire need of, I think. It will probably come down to how your character and the world around them interact, something that, again, SWSH was very lacking on. Let’s just hope that how the mechanics appear and how they play out are fun and satisfying.
And maybe, just maybe, we’ll actually get a real story that isn’t an exact repeat or slightly altered reiteration of the previous games!
(Excuse the numerous comparisons to SWSH, I just find that to be the point where we really saw things go south and watched attempts at new features not pan out as hoped.
I remember holding out until SWSH came out thinking, hey, let’s hold our criticisms because maybe the experience of the game will still be fun! Got called several genuinely disgusting and awful things, the mildest being ‘bootlicker.’ It’s becoming harder and harder to see where people can still be hopefully for a game while still acknowledging that it has flaws, so let’s not divide the fan base into two groups.)

this is me throwing a tantrum part 2 lol.
so there was a whole ass backlash when sw/sh came out that gamefreak used the exact same pokemon models, animations and in general the exact same engine they used in their 3ds games for their new console and sw/sh. and what is gamefreaks response? this arceus game that still uses the exact same 3ds models and engine lool. you can see from the human character models to for example the shinx or the chimchar thats standing still in the trailer, they have the exact same stand still stance and that classic signature little movement that pokemon have in every single pokemon game ever when they are standing still (like they are breathing), as the X/Y game that came out in 2013 almost a decade before this new upcoming game.
you can also see the rest of the pokemon shown have the exact same models as the 3ds games and they move in 10 fps exactly because they havent updated the engine that they were using in 3ds games for the switch games. its like they are porting 3ds games to the switch thats why the performance is so poor and it wont be much better on release just because they have 1 year to work on this like people always use as a defense. its gonna have the classic problem of pokemon following you or pokemon moving on the overworld as sw/sh. buggy and laggy movement, i bet thats why they didnt show a clip of a pokemon following us because its 1 year from release and they still havent figured out how to make a pokemon follow the character without problems lmao. multi billion dollar company btw. there are 1 man teams out there making better fan games than these dudes with basically no budget and using pre existing assets.
its just sad how the potential of pokemon is limited to nintendo and gamefreak and it seems thats just never going to change unfortunately. just imagine for a second if pokemon wasnt nintendo exclusive and other developers could work on them similar to what happened with the star wars license and EA, where now basically any developer can make a deal with lucasfilm games and make a star wars game, like ubisoft is making one now ( too bad its probably gonna be a huge but shallow world like ubisoft usually makes nowadays with these souless copy paste grind fest of AC games). ubisoft games are the definition of the phrase: "wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle". but anyways i got off topic lol. but yea just imagine other companies were allowed to make pokemon games... that would be a perfect world to me lol. but too bad its never gonna happen.

i wanted an open world pokemon game for i dont know how many years. with like in real time 3d pokemon battles where you can assign individual buttons for each move, like running around as a trainer with your favorite pokemon out of the ball following you entering in battles with wild pokemon in a seemless way like pressing R2 to throw you pokeball and you just start the battle.
when i watched the reveal trailer live i was so disappointed to see a big empty world filled with trees and nothing of interest, pokemon running around on the grass in 5 frames per second, all pokemon acting the exact same way in overworld whether we see a chimchar walking around or a starly which is a flying type pokemon they will behave the exact same way like pokemon will have no identity similar to how pokemon act in the wild area in sw/sh. its not gonna be anything close to something like RDR2 ecosystem where you see animals acting according to how they act in real life, its just gonna be generic pokemon walking and floating around in a souless way.
i was so disappointed to see that nintendo still gave this project to gamefreak instead of choosing a different studio, since its not considered a main series pokemon game its a spinoff. like they shouldve told gamefreak to work on d/p remakes and assign the open world game to a new studio but instead they outsourced a mobile gaming company to make the remakes and they kept gamefreak for the open world game like wtf is nintendo thinking.... gamefreak cant code for shit.
they say in the trailer that this is a new start for the pokemon games but they kept the most important feature exactly the same as the formula they made in 1998: the combat. the game will still be turn based combat hahaha. for a 2022 open world game which seeks "innovation" they will still use the 1998 combat system. like wtf are you innovating if the most important component of the game will stay exactly the same lol. like 90% of pokemon is the battles. okay you can go explore and catch pokemon or whatever but battling is the main feature... and they are keeping it the same instead of innovating where it matters.
this game will just be a big empty wild area from sw/sh games, with no npc to interact with in any way shape or form other than just battling them like weve had for 20+ years, no unique pokemon routines and as we see from the trailer you are just running around throwing pokeballs at things. you dont have your main pokemon out with you following you, you just rolling around throwing pokeballs lmao. who asked for that.
idk untill i see more im just extremely disappointed that people are excited for this. pokemon funs are just desperate and will be excited about anything new pokemon related no matter how low amount of effort is put on these games. the games will sell 20M copies no matter what they do, and we saw that with sw/sh. in my opinion they are by far the worst pokemon games ive ever played EVER. its just a hand holding simulator where you cant go more than 10minutes without the game trying to tell you what you should and where you should go. its the only pokemon game i only played for 24 hours and never touched it again, i just finished the story and put it aside and thats coming from someone whose played every single pokemon game thats come out. i didnt care that they didnt have the whole national pokedex i never even jumped on that hate train, i just hated how bad the story was and the characters. the main enemy team was non existent just some simps following a girl ?? how is that a main enemy team for a pokemon game lol.

I’m not a Pokémon fan but I do like Pokémon as a franchise and was thinking about how an open world Pokémon game would absolutely get me into Pokémon games but then I see the trailer for arceus and could not have been more disinterested and disgusted. The game looks pre alpha in development, world look empty, graphics are downright dogshit and they had the audacity to show a release date to an unfinished game. That just shows the laziness of recent Pokémon games. Then even worse, the dumb Pokémon simps who find every excuse to see this game and say wow this will be incredible and will fight with people who disagree with them . The most common accusation I see is that the graphics aren’t good enough because the switch isn’t powerful. BOTW, Super Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade 2 are games that look really good and those games will be 5 years old by the time this “game” releases so don’t blame the damn hardware. Whoever is in charge of the development of these games needs to be fired and replaced with someone who is passionate about Pokémon because the franchise is too good and popular to be treated with such garbage, the fans and the devs deserve better.

I think sword and shield had a decent idea with the idea of catching Pokemon like the mechanisms and all that were pretty good but the story and all that was boring is all hell like I did not care I just wanted to catch the Pokemon run around and catch more I did not like the old ways cuz the old ways were really stupid
To be fair, Sinnoh sucked originally too and it's just nostalgia that makes people think it was any good. The accuracy-destroying defog route was hell without the HM, adding onto the already excessive and annoying number of HMs required to traverse Sinnoh. Even with defog, you couldn't defog the visibility-destroying blizzard route 207, which not only kept itself blinding, but also slow with the deep snow it added onto it. The trek from celestic town to Snowpoint due to Mt. Coronet combined with 207 was atrociously tedious due to it.
Not to mention, the route west of Pastoria City's muddy water that you could get stuck in was worse than the snowy route, and while optional, the Great Marsh suffered the same issues, being one of the worst Safari Zones to date in my opinion. The region felt dreary, dull, and de-saturated, and with the route design, that feels like they wanted that intentionally. Even Sunnyshore, the town with Sunny in the name, felt empty and lifeless. Not to mention, the lack of fire types in a region with a fire-type Elite 4 member in DP, as well as few electric types for Volkner in DP, Sinnoh really wasn't tailored to what it wanted to achieve, and it dragged the original Sinnoh games down so much.
Platinum fixed the last two issues I've had with it, but even still - the terrain, dreary aesthetic. and navigation ruin it for me.
The fact ILCA are bragging that the Diamond and Pearl remakes will be faithful to Sinnoh's original feel makes me worried that these atrocious qualities of the region's original design will be kept around, even if they don't bring back HMs, the fog, marsh, and deep snow blizzard (which cannot be defog'd), make me reluctant to speak highly of these games. I get people love Sinnoh due to it's size, story, and the distortion world, but... The only positive I've seen in the trailer is Porygon-Z, confirming Platinum dex, rather than DP dex. It's still not enough to sway me.
This isn't even a graphics issue to me, it's entirely to do with how they're keeping the region tedious, dreary, dull - and proudly boasting that these feelings are kept.
You do have a point to be fair. I just really liked the Sinnioh Pokemon. Chimchar is my favourite so I have bias. Thanks for watching :)

People are already talking bad and talking Shit and demonizing Pokemon Legends Arceus before it even comes out before they even give it a try to see for themselves what they think about it not what other people tell them about it
I think it's unique that Pokemon has different versions or two versions unique versions of the same game each franchise it comes up with I don't there's anything wrong with that because of each version you capture certain amount of rare Pokemon that you can't get in the other version and that's what makes Pokemon so neat and exciting and definitely not boring because you get different Pokemon for each version like in sword and shield you get the sword Pokemon zacian and in the shield version you get zamazenta. But each version is so cool because in each one you get to collect them all in total just like with brilliant diamond shining Pearl the same way the same method. And I think that's what makes Pokemon so cool because that's what makes Pokemon unique and that's the reason people want to keep buying it and that's the reason people keep buying it every time because it's so unique like that and it's why people have loved Pokemon and why we have enjoyed Pokemon for all these years. Everything from the games to the cartoons to the movies to the franchise to the merchandise everything. It what keeps people coming for more. This game is definitely something I'm looking forward to because it's something new you're looking into a new region or a prehistoric version of region that we're familiar with so it's like a backstory of that region.

I think it's a pretty cool prequel from what I'm seeing in the video it seems like a pretty cool prequel story to diamond and Pearl a region we already know and I like the whole Central Ancient Japanese theme. I think that's a brilliant idea and a brilliant start because that's where Pokemon's Roots come from in the first place is Japan. so I'm very excited for it and I already like the idea and I already like the concept. It takes you into the history of ancient Japan and how their ancient Japanese warrior clans operated it's sort of like a synopsis into that tap of History. and ancient Japanese culture. Pokemon just keeps getting more brilliant and brilliant every time! And in my opinion it sounds like a really brilliant and interesting concept background theme and story. And since I like Japanese culture it'll be awesome for me! I can't wait and I'm excited for Pokemon Legends Arceus!

If you like the game, good, but BDSP was a giant waste of money for me, and Arceus is 2 steps forward 10 steps back. Empty world, ugly graphics, trash story, repetitive gameplay loop, no gym leaders or elite 4, and a bunch of other problems.
If this was assassins creed or COD, we’d all be shitting on it. But because it’s Nintendo and Pokemon, they get a pass and praised for adding in features that should’ve been here 5 years ago.

While all your points are valid i feel like your comparing different styles of games. Pokemon is meant to be fun for all ages so they have a simple art style and simple story so that people can grasp what's happening. I think that story part is pretty important as I have watched multiple hours of lore for kingdom hearts, then played them, and I still don't know what's happening bc it lacked simplicity. I feel like people would've complained about pokemon arceus and bdsp no matter how they made it. If I had been begging for litteral years I would want the diamond and pearl remakes to make me nostalgic of the originals while still being decent enough remakes and while that isn't what bdsp delivers it is hard to make. At the end of the day it just comes down opinions but that's just my take

The issues I'm having with the new Pokemon Arceus are the dodging mechanism is s*** it copies dark souls like when you try to dodge it tries to jump into the f****** enemy that happens in dark souls as I can not have that please that'd be great the other thing that pisses me off is randomly you would have the pokémon notice you like how did you notice me how did you notice me explain this then you have the broken hip boxes the biggest problem I have in this entire f****** game like no joke they need to fix this game with those hitboxes because I can clearly tell that it shouldn't be able to hit me from where it's hitting me but no the game just registers it as damage and it's like no no fix it for f*** sake

Honestly man, you don’t actually give a particularly good reason as to why BDSP and Legends will suck. It’s a whole lot of complaining about Nintendo and SWSH, with some stuff about the BDSP graphics, and Legends being a big wild area (which we don’t know the scope). It’s nothing I haven’t heard before from the Pokémon community on Twitter and UA-cam. So I guess this is the first and last video of yours I’ll watch.

I don’t think it’ll suck but it’ll be underwhelming. Seems like it could be a lifeless Pokémon world they’ve built.. but I’m still interested how they’re going to substitute for the gym battles due to the time period it’s set in.

@@piranhalettuce I think you missed his sarcasm. he was saying how he's "not" a big fan, etc. when obviously he is. but he was basically imitating die hard idiots who assume because you have any criticism that you're a pure hater who doesn't love the Pokemon franchise when, in fact he was. everything about him buying the plushy, getting the switch solely for Pokemon, etc. was true from my understanding.
BDSP is by definition....a remake.
I don't see what's wrong with Gamefreak having a new dev team make the remake, it makes sense with them focusing on Legends Arceus.
Also how many Pokemon fans do you even know? They complain about the new games since the Switch a lot too.

For a multi billion dollar company that produces a 60 dollar game every year, they should be able to make something that doesn’t look like a plastic hell. I can find a game from 10+ years ago that looks better. Pokémon has re used models from previous games, and all of what they do now is a cash grab :(.
