You articulated my thoughts better than I did. Haha Your amendments make so much sense to me. Yes, I do allow some wiggle room. Not a lot. But, some. Palettes can absolutely surprise us and change our minds.

At this point, I have just about every color and finish I could want. I buy new eyeshadow palette collabs to support the creators I love watching.
Right? LOL We have so many choices now, it’s fun to see how different or creative people can get while still providing real value. (So, NOT the Fenty x ketchup collab 🤣)

Rather than comparing among palettes from a brand, I would compare a potential new neutral purchase against the neutral palettes I own, a purple palette with other purples etc.
That’s a good rule of thumb too, because you can assess those exact colors against what you have.
I think if there is a favorite color I’m likely to want quite a bit of it and small variations and formulas are still interesting . If I don’t adore the color scheme but still like it I might go for one (or two )cool purple/aqua palette with multichromes ? Not a total fave color story - I bought Adept Element 115. Other brands have similar BBB, Ensley Reign, Cosmic Brushes etc. but I’m not that into purples that every iteration Must be Mine! Greens on the other hand especially murky lime olive swampy ones? I Definitely have a problem.
Some things once you have a good example in a good workable formula , you’re set . How many black gray white gradient palettes does a person need?
I would have some leeway if there is a good bundle deal . Sometimes it’s cheaper to get a bundle and then gift the pieces you don’t love.
Oh yeah, I know what you mean. If I have a decent representation of colors I don't use much, like pink, I'm not going to want every pink palette that comes out. But I, like you, have a weakness for greens! As for Element 115, I LOVE the way they did those colors and added in some orange/pink complements too. So well done. I have Cosmic Winter Wonderland and it's very pretty. Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts!
