Hi,we have noticed for the past couple of years there are a continuous growth of motorhomes in spain.where we live on the Costa calida,the beaches are or was choco block!until the police had a big clear out!apparently its the same all the way down to tariffa.

We were in Vilaricos not far from Mojacar during the week. Huge carpark on the beach wild camping. Never seen so many motorhomes. Over 100 and people in vans still turning up. Unusual for this time of year. Hope you aren't having the same winds we are having here.

Our experience has been the same, anywhere near the coast (we’re further south around Marbella/Estapona) it’s been nigh on impossible to do an ad-hoc booking, every site is absolutely packed full.

Watch "Traitors Australia" ! We watched it while we were in Portugal but couldn't wait to get to the end so watched the final episode in the Eutotunnel on our homeward journey. Hadn't quite finished the episode by the time we left the tunnel so we stopped at Oxford services for the last 15 minutes, it was that good.

We’ve been in Spain for a month, and haven’t made it out of Catalonia. Thoroughly enjoying staying away from the coast and doing the ‘small village’ hopping. We avoid the pinch points and explore the roads less travelled.
Lovely, ❤️🇪🇸 we’ve landed in Gandia , and have enjoyed it more than the coast, so much quieter, and central to many of the places we want to go to 🙂 so much easier isn’t it ! 🙂

As always thanks for sharing. Lovely drone footage of mountains and as you say a great campsite too. On the matter of no pitches near the coast in February - just my opinion but its not surprising me one bit. Bearing in mind many ppl in UK and EU countries hang around their homestead Dec/Jan due to seasonal celebrations. But by February they have had enough of the dreadful winter weather and hit the road to warmer climate. France not so warm unless way down South so Spain it is. Im about to purchase first MH and i too will be joining the ever increasing number of Brits and our EU cousins in leaving UK for the 3 months like you have done later this year. Im sure if this becomes a bigger issue the Spanish Govt will do something about it as they like the colour and smell of our money - unlike our local authorities and Central Govt in UK who are so backward in coming forward especially in the ever increasing popularity of van lifers. that said there are always solutions just a need to be flexible as you two are. Keep enjoying your stay and look forward to next instalment.

Good evening Corrin Paul Dolly and Pippa. Lovely to see you settled in a beautiful camp. Thank you Paul for your informative tour. We awe in Camping La Naranja just north of Gandia. Yes we were on the way into Portugal the last time I wrote, but the weather was horrendous so we turned around and we have stopped at this camp site because we stayed here over Xmas and New Year and knew it well. We have also been finding it difficult to get into campsites. We have booked a lovely camp from Tuesday this week just outside of Valencia as we didn’t stop there on our way down. We have decided to head nortje along the coast, perhaps stopping at some of your suggestions. We would like to be camped near Carcassonne by the 1st March then head through France to reach Calais by the 12th. Hopefully we might get to meet in the flesh seeing as we are so near. Sending happy travels and stops from Kate Pierre and Tasha 😘

But Gandia is a bit of a hidden gem, it really isn’t what it appears to be , the history isn’t obvious, but so fascinating ❤️ I think you did the right thing , holding back and settling into a campsite due too the bad weather is what we’ve done too ! Possibly better to pre book weekends on sites in advance when travelling to Spain, at least then I'd be guaranteed to get a hook up for a couple of days a week.I think your vlog has convinced me to buy that EcoFlow Delta Pro in their current sale. Once again a vlog that tells it exactly as it is with minimum frills, the info I pick up from you guys is priceless.

On my last day in Spain left the Autocaravaning Park at Roses. Then park up for the day at Figueres on Pujada del Castell in carpark next to Fortress Visit it and Salvador Dali Museum. I think Salvador Dali art was Fun.

Hi guys when you get down to the beach it might not be open to dogs ? The dog friendly bit is at the far end which is a long stroll , you fell foul on restaurants on a Sunday big day for the spainish lunch times ,Mondays a lot of places will be closed.try around the port area enjoy 👍

Noticed one UA-camr has purchased a small petrol generator for these situations. Park up on a busy road, 2 hours on a generator and a good charge 😊
Interesting point 👍 a good run can help too, but a generator is useful in the right place for sure 👌🙂

I was thinking of getting my camper converted to where I can charge at a EV point, I’ve seen plenty of UA-cam videos of how it can be done therefore, eliminating campsites

We're in Gandia too, struggling to get sites. Spent the first day of this lovely weather trying to find a pitch. Everywhere full, looked at Mazarron as we love it down there, full until the end of February!!! Looking for hints and tips for sites if anyone has anything?
Hi ! Look up Camping Escalada in Gandia ! Lovely site with lots of free pitches in the foothills of the mountains 🇪🇸🙂
That looks a nice site and a good price too for such a short stay. Did that include electricity? In my experience February is always a very busy month on Spanish campsites so it does not surprise me that you found it difficult. One or maybe two nights may be possible if you look around but the longer you want to stay the more difficult it is. The best and biggest pitches are generally booked year to year, we book ours 12 months in advance for a 1 month stay. This year we had to cancel at our normal camp site as our passports were running out but having received our new ones we had real problems in finding an available and suitable pitch anywhere from Castillon to Valencia. We eventually succeeded but had to delay our trip to fit in with the campsite availability. As you found going inland improves your chances as everybody wants to be close to the beaches. Two of the main French farmers unions have suspended action so, hopefully, things should be quieter in France but it would seem the Spanish have stepped up there protests so I would keep a close eye on the news and get ready to head north.

Hi guys great vlog, I’m gutted missed you in javea again, you will love gandia, if you take a drive out maybe have a drive through Playa de miramar it’s about 15 minutes from gandia , the girls will love it on the beach, please can I ask, we are hiring a motorhome in March you mentioned the camping card, we were wondering how it works if you have tapped to go in, can you leave again say if your were going out for the day and coming back does it charge you again xx

Thanks so much for watching and the recommendation xx will take a look ❤️ the camping car card covers you for 24 hours , so your first exit will charge you for 24 hours from your time of entry , you can go in and out like a fiddlers elbow if you want to ! … if you leave within the first 2 hours it’ll charge a service fee, but it’s all done on ANPR … highly recommended xx

So guys I hope you enjoyed GANDIA shame I could have told you some restaurants to visit, I would have booked you a table, I really hope you got down to the Playa from march onwards this is the best beach Spain with our home village next door .do not let this time of year fool you come the summer the place is full and it is a very vibrant place to take your hols the restaurant on the marina front is the go to place for food sitting almost in the sea enjoy the rest of your visit and as I said if you hit a prob let me know and I might be able to steer you in the right direction 👍

A useful video with alternative campsite options away from the coast. Is there still day parking space for motorhomes at the coast for general beach ramblinng, exploring etc ? Hopefully local councils will not start imposing bans or restrictions.
Morning Mark, we did start to see an increasing number of height barriers being put up near coastal areas, any day parking , even with signs saying no motorhomes did have motorhomes in overnight , there are places where you can park on side streets and walk, but sadly we haven’t seen many where you can have sea views and park up.. Denia was one, but restricted on how long you can stay ,it’s really busy 👍🙂
@@redsgotravelsthanks for reply, not too bothered about the sea views, but more reasonable access to the water for kitesurfing and paddleboards, so as to not have to carry the equipment too far. We cannot get to Spain until this time next year, so hoping we haven't missed the boat for this and that everywhere get's restricted like it is in the UK now near practically any beach. Cheers
Hi Mark, you’ll certainly get near , we went to Gandia beach today , 3 mins and you’re on the beach, but the car park was limited to a 6 hour stop , so no overnight stays 👍👍🙂

It gives a little , but our power banks take around 8 hours on a good sunny day to fully charge , so it can be a bit problematic now and again ❤️

Totally agree re Spain is full. Returned home a couple of weeks ago, after 2 months touring Portugal & Spain. Never seen it so packed! Even our prebooked Christmas sites were bursting and cramped. Im afraid the golden goose has been killed!, with a drought in Catalonia and Almeria/Murcia, I could easily see the local authorities placing drastic restrictions on incoming tourists to protect indigenous localities. Sadly, we have taken the decision not to return to Spain for a couple of years due to what we've encountered this year. We all take a measure of blame for the situation we endured this winter, hopefully everyone will take stock of the pressures we are putting on the Spanish communities we are visiting. Its really sad, but an inevitable result of the hype.

Imagine what it’s like for people like us who live here and have motorhomes, we head inland as all the “swallows” as we call them head for the coast. Never ever had an issue inland and inland is the real Spain. Come March most of the European swallows will head back to their home countries
@@66mjtaylor I enjoy Extramadura, Galicia and The Basque regions, and try to explore as much as possible. I noticed today that the Cadiz region ( another favourite area of ours)is actually contemplating restrictions. ( Daily Express report). I think there is an onus on visitors to respect local conditions. If theres a drought with near empty resorvoirs, we should be mindful of our impact on local communities.
@@neilswan5044 totally agree, where we live signs are already going up as what used to be tolerated parking spaces and you would get 6 or so vans, has been swamped, one night on our residential street there was 42 motorhomes parked up, one has been here since December, which then questions what they are doing with waste etc etc

Something is a happening and it’s not so good 😬
Invest in more solar and more Lithium batteries so having not a lot of sun won't matter unless its winter. We have 1000 watts and around 5,600 watts capacity in batteries and portable power bank. It always amazes me how people with very expensive motorhomes that travel a lot do not invest in a proper solar set up. For example you can also connect your invertor to the main plugs so you never need to go to camp sites. we have travelled thousands of miles and in sometimes gloomy weather but never had an issue with power the only thing that can be a pain is the emptying the cassette toilet.
Hi ! Some very good points there , our arsenal of Solar, powerbanks, inverters, batteries and generators has increased somewhat since this vlog 👍
