- 🇲🇽 PARRAL, CHIHUAHUA - Welcome to another 4K Walkaround video from Mexico, this time from Parral in Chihuahua. This video comes directly after the main Parral video. This was filmed during Semana Santa 2022 (specifically the morning of Easter Sunday) Let's walk around the city!
Parral is an awesome city, which I would say is one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico. Many will say Guanajuato or San Miguel de Allende takes this title, but there are more options if you are traveling to Mexico, thinking of being an expat or moving to Mexico.
Francisco Villa (Pancho Villa) was assassinated here (a prominent general during the Mexican Revolution), it's well-known for its silver mining (Mina la Prieta), has amazing comida Mexicana (Mexican food) such as dulches at La Gota de Miel and Dobladas everywhere (similar to quesadillas and burritos). There are tons of things to do in Parral!
TIMESTAMPS -
00:00 - Pancho Villa Horse
06:08 - Guillermo Baca
10:16 - Shopping Street
15:06 - Plaza Principal and Inside Cathedral
18:48 - Over the Bridge
23:09 - Side Streets
29:30 - Close to Bus Station

I’m from Parral Chihuahua, and you really showed the world the beauty of my beautiful city. All Parralenses are grateful to you
Hello, I'm curious if you can tell us if there are any expats who have moved to Parral from the US or Canada. I live in El Paso and have fallen in love with Parral from David's videos, and I can't wait to visit your lovely city. Thanks.
@@markasdievovaikas Hello Markas, to be honest, i don’t have idea if historically any expatriate took refuge in Parral. But, I know in times when mining was very prosperous, there was a large American population, and proof of this is many very old tombstones in the municipal pantheon of American people descent.
@@jocelynealbarios3691 Hi, Thanks for your reply. Being such a lovely city, I would expect there must be some expats who have moved there, that's why I was asking.
You're very welcome Jocelyne! I really enjoyed making the videos there!
My great grandfather is buried in Parral. I've been told. Roberto P Cowell. I need a contact there. I'd like to visit. Don't know best way to get there. I'm in California.

I really don't understand why you only have 30k subscribers, it is probably more your passion than monetizing what drives you to make those awesome trips and videos. Keep going my friend! And thank you for visiting those amazing towns!
Thanks man, it's never been my primary income (I wouldn't want it to be either). Teaching English is. You're right, if it was to be my primary income I'd purposely stay in one country where I have a larger audience like Serbia or Mexico, but that defeats the object of travel! Basically you go to another country and it's like starting from zero because subscribers don't watch.
I could easily just stay in San Miguel doing expat videos to make it a primary income but I'd rather shoot myself lol
Also being a solo male is an immediate handicap, and a lot of people struggle with a British accent, at least that's what I tell myself lol
These are actually my final videos as I'm moving on to different things in life!
@@davidostrowski679 Hi David! Good luck on your new project of life. You are evil man because you made us kind of addict to your contents. You got the skill to capture a different perspective of every town you visit and your drone 4K videos are probably some of the best footages that those little unknown towns will have ever (or probably the only ones).

Great video! If you like Parral, you will LOVE Santa Barbara Chihuahua! it's only about 30min away from Parral and is actually the oldest/first city of the state of Chihuahua! That is where the mining started and still mining to this day!
Brilliant! I remember reading about Santa Barbara when I was researching Parral! Unfortunately I left Mexico a few months ago but as per the last 8 times I left I'm sure I'll be back jaja
Great work, thank you for portraying our country in a great fashion. You are doing all of us mexicans a great service. Thanks again
you're welcome! I love these lesser-visited cities. Northern Mexico gets so much crap but I love it!
Another great walking and talking video. Parral looks like a fun place to visit! Thank you for the tour!
Beautiful, the City I always go to every December it makes me smile
Hi David, my health is such that I’m not getting out much these days and I so much appreciate watching your travels. Love your down to earthness . Cheers!
I think one of the reasons the north is quiter is because of the weather , it is or to hot or to cold to be outside selling stuff door to door because the centre has temperate climate all year long and the south generallly is always hot so the people are more easily accustomed of being in the heat.
And because the northern population is lower than the rest of Mexico
Thank you for showing me where my great great grandparents are from!
It’s a small town but it looks pretty clean and organized, Mexico is developing lately
awesome. nice work.
Walking Up and down with that heat... Good job ! David

It's a very beautiful City! I liked its style.
Hi, David! Your videos in Parral have been eye-opening about this undiscovered gem of a city. As you say, 'Top Tier'. I especially loved today's 4K walk-around video. I've fallen in love with the place and Parral really appeals and beckons me to come there. The shopping street must be lovely at night when the strings of lights over the street are lit. The inside of the older church with all the gold-leaf is beautiful. I love the stately old Colonial era buildings and the other colorful Mexican style buildings. What an enchanting place!
Besides in Mexico, the only other place I have ever seen street sweepers has been in Vilnius, Lithuania, where every morning outside my apartment building there would be a little old woman sweeping the street like crazy.
During your travels in Chihuahua state did you use the Transportes Chihuahuenses bus service? If you did, I'm wondering if that was a positive experience for you? Parral would be an 8 hour bus trip from El Paso, and I guess that's the bus service used to travel across Chihuahua state to Parral. I'm wondering if any Parralenses can tell us if there are American or Canadian expats living in Parral? I would expect the Mexican cost of living in Parral to be lower than in other bigger cities in Mexico.
David, it's truly ADMIRABLE that you have shared and exposed so many positive aspects of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua City, and Parral. Who the hell else except you would do this on UA-cam? (None of the other Mexico content creators.) You should be made an honorary citizen of the state for all of your goodwill toward Chihuahua State!
haha thanks man! Funny you mention about Vilnius, I have seen the same in Minsk and Krakow but not to the same degree. Not in Riga though! Oh I miss that area of the world!
Re buses yes I used them to get to Creel although they were operating under Rapidos Cuauhtemoc (the bus signage was Chihuahuenses). No complaints! I'm sure I used them last year too. I honestly can't remember who I used to get from Juarez to Chihuahua though (I have a brain like a sieve)!
Cost of living in the whole state of Chihuahua is higher that any Mexican southern state!!! And that is because we are really close to the States!!! And than the closer you get to the Sierra Madre gets even higher, not to tell that up the Sierra the cost of living goes 2X fold!!
@@JoseRamirez-rh3jd Thanks so much for sharing this surprising information. I guess Its understandable Chihuahua would be more expensive being nearer to the US, but I never knew this. And ironically, here in El Paso on the US-MX border, we have one of the lowest costs of living in the entire US.
I can definitely sense this through cost of Airbnbs. In Juárez the prices were crazy compared to southern or Central Mexico. Sonora looks pricey too but I found somewhere reasonable in Obregón for a month
@@JoseRamirez-rh3jd Parral is cheaper than Chihuahua and other big citties of the state. Food, rent, house, entertainment, etc
Great video my friend Thank you for not doing the same as others 👍
Nice! And I must say your pronunciation of the rr is so much better! It’s so peaceful with the birds and quietness at the beginning. These are nice because you can just look around and “walk” streets you wouldn’t really get to see. Cheers!
In the picos de la luna video I accidently rolled a D by mistake. Muscle memory!
I've never explored Chihuahua state, but every time I watch a video the cities look very clean.
The government of Chihuahua fines whoever throws garbage, CD Juárez is invaded by people from southern Mexico who have it very dirty

Sculpture is about a women who confronted the US army in the US , Mexico war i believe. She started the rest followed
Wow 4K… i here to get educated
Very nice David, very strange to me also. Not many people, relatively clean, mostly middle class maybe, trucks all over the place, the weather looks hot as the desert but maybe it isn't, maybe is like cold in winter and hot in the summer. All closed is what m makes it look like a ghost town.
yep very quiet but it was just because it was 830am on Easter Sunday, I walked past the cathedral the night before with a huge service, I guess a lot of people still sleeping!
Well, Happy Easter week! Perhaps you celebrated through being there and noticing. Why not get a gig at the Cambridge English school I saw? That would be a twist. Pancho's horse seems to like you. Your double R is terrific now. Perfect walk-around day - dry places mean pretty shade. Top tier! I'd make my big old Mexican building green. Captivating somehow. I like this type of video. Talking about the siren reminded my of my grandmother saying that when they electrocuted prisoners in Columbus Ohio in the very early 1900s the lights might flicker. The nuns would pray. Sounds more Mexican somehow. We all have a more robust electric system now right? - even if the rest of it continues. Thank you for this half hour. Stunning!
thanks man glad you enjoyed, I'll be doing more of these videos in Obregon, Torreon and so on.

facinating, interesting there no building more that two floors and a few Chinese stores,, thanks again,
Great work David, l found Parral to be a very attractive town, l don't know the population but it seems to have feeling of a small town. It has those mysterious abandoned buildings and an old mine site, and the austere hills around. By looking at your Northern Mexico videos it looks like mining has been and is big in the Northern towns and cities. As you mentioned in your first Parral video the town sits in the desert plain, l got the same feeling with other cities in Chihuahua and El Paso too.
Chihuahua tiene 3 ecosistemas ,sierra ,paztisal y desierto ,somos conocidos por VENCEDORES DEL DESIERTO ,PERO TAMBIEN DE GANADERIA INDUSTRIAL, PRODUCTOR DE LECHE ,DE CARNE QUE ES LA CARABLANCA ,LA PRODUCCIÓN MAS GRANDE DE LATINOAMÉRICA DE LA MANZANA EN LA SIERRA DE LOS ASADEROS ,QUESOS MENONITAS ,Y UNA DE LAS 10 ESTADOS MAS ESTABLES EN ECONOMIA EN EL PAIS ,OVBIOOO NO NIVEL DE MONTERREY O GUADALAJARA ,PERO SI LOS 10 PRIMEROS SIEMPRE !!

What? Are you sure you are in México? That looks like Europe to me
Mexico was the New Spain, you see European architecture especially in states like Chihuahua which is in northern Mexico, very concentrated Spanish ancestry there
Mexico is developing pretty fast lately, Mexican gdp per capita is the same as South Korea gdp per capita in 2004 and it’s growing pretty fast, the poverty rates are getting lower too.
I mean, that’s a small town, maybe it has 100,000 habitants and is not an important city in Mexico, so as you can see Mexico is not as the media shows, even the small towns are already pretty developed, the poorest part of Mexico is southern Mexico but still is getting way better.
Greetings bro
It kinda reminds me of the Pueblos in Spain near Madrid
Are you from Spain? Yes it’s a small town, it has around 100,000 habitants, so is not an important city in Mexico but still it looks pretty clean, I’ve been there a couple of times
Looks interesting... is it SAFE? :)

David, what airline do you use in Mexico, and/or for getting there and back?
hey guys, within Mexico I pretty much use all of them, more commonly Vivaaerobus, but I've used Volaris, Interjet, Aeromar, AeroMexico and a smaller one I can't remember the name of from Los Mochis to Chihuahua last year. Getting too and from Mexico (usually to Europe), I've used AeroMexico to Madrid from CDMX and Lufthansa to Frankfurt. In 2020 during corona I had the chaos drama in Cancun with my flight disappearing so I ended up having to book a last minute one with Air Canada and British Airways to London.
On the whole, I've never had any issues with Vivaaerobus, they are usually my 'go-to' if possible!

Hi
You pose interesting questions as you muse your way through… but what if you actually posed these questions to people?
Not possible I'm afraid. #9754 of being shouted at for getting someone's face on camera means I don't involve other people. I've had people demanding payment if they end up in a shot, and have lost count of the times people have accosted me and stood there while I deleted shots with them in... in Mexico, Serbia, Brazil all this year. Hence I am moving on to different things in life which I actually enjoy!
@@davidostrowski679 I hear you. I guess you could arrange interviews… But I just want to say that we really enjoy your videos - and there are still many we haven’t seen yet.
My grandparents from my mother side are both from Parral, Chihuahua. Why do people call it the capital of the world?
I can tell people take pride of their city there.
Don’t think I saw one bit of trash on the streets
Chihuahua is a clean state, the dirtiest city is Juarez but there’s many factors that affect the cleanness of the city, like the excessive amount of immigrants from other countries tryng to cross to the us
They don’t have a place to stay so they usually don’t care about the trash, I saw that with my own eyes, sometimes they do a mess
