Jimmy Somerville was born in 1961 in Glasgow, Scotland, and is a Scottish Pop singer and songwriter. He is a former member of Bronski Beat and the Communards.
"Smalltown Boy" was released in June 1984 as a single and became a hit all over the world incl. #3 (UK), #48 (US), #1 (Belgium), #1 (The Netherlands), #1 (Italy). It also appeared on the album "The Age of Consent", produced by Mike Thorne.
Bronski Beat were Jimmy Somerville (vocals), Steve Bronski (keyboards, percussion) and Larry Steinbachek (keyboards, percussion).
