@@FeelgoodThreads I put the hot water into the shoe, the polyurethane adhesive what is used here you can activate again at about 60 to 100 degree celsius. Let the hot water sit for a while and you can easily remove the strobelboard from the outsole.
@@helmutp.975 I also use the kettle boiling hot water technique, on vintage pairs they seperate in seconds, newer pairs let it sit for a while, I tried the acetone technique for the 1st time today after watching this video, I felt like I was getting high, had to do it in the garden, with a clean air supply n gloves, fumes make me nervous to be honest, great video though 👌💪
@@brianstewart4710 Same. The boiling water loosened slightly, but the acetone worked best. Even with the acetone I had to do it twice. Idk what kind of glue was on mine but it was hard as hell to get off.
great demo, amazing performance on cam, love the info. im finally gonna decon a dunk after 20 years of dreaming. yall be really inspiring with this stuff. love it.
Awesome video, BTW! Inquiry: do they sell replacement soles? I have two pairs of mid 1's... They are pristine, but I noticed the rear left side of the soles are losing tread.... This saddens me as they are kept perfect. What do you recommend other than buying new ones :)?
should probably warn ppl know not to use the heat gun right after the acetone while its still on its liquid state or even damp b4 someone gets injured 👞🔥 🤕 @ 16:50
I was wondering i have a pair of nike waffle ones. I usually just wear shoes until they fall apart and throw them away but I wanted to try to clean these. Can you take the insoles out? I tried but they seem glued in and I didn't want to screw anything up.
Thanks brother, this helped me a lot
Awesome bro! Glad it helped!
Use hot water instead of acetone, has the same effect and without fumes!
Appreciate this. That’s great advice. Do you dip the whole shoe in or how do you add the hot water?

I’ve dumped boiling water in a couple pairs and they would NOT come apart.

Did you mean the acetone? If you can tell me the time you see it I can let you know.
@@FeelgoodThreads yes acetone
Does the acetone ruin the donor uppers?
Yes it does. Unless you use minimal acetone and slowly pry it off. Very difficult to save though.
@@FeelgoodThreads I always just use boiled water.
Every pair of Jordan's i had the soles fell apart and couldn't find glue that actually holds
Let me know if you need help finding glue.
👍👍
👊🏽
Bro I use this method so I go to a Nike store when my shoes guarantee are almost finished so I say it’s a factory defect and the give me a new one 💀
I thought my jordans were fake cos cos couldt remove them
Na man it’s quite the opposite. If they come right off there’s a problem. Unless they’re hella old
Everyone does the same shoes. I guess yall can’t do any others….😒
What was the point of this??!
So you can use the sole for a reconstruction
If you need a sole for a reconstruction or if you need the sole for restoring an older jordan 1.
Butchered that shoe.
