That engine sounds much better than it looks. The Tudor is a good choice for a first Model A. All-steel lightweight body, simple upholstery, very roomy and comfortable.
Very cool video and glad you rescued it from being chopped up. That radiator cap is incorrect for that car which is why it doesn't fit or look correctly. Have fun!!
Great find. A friend of mine has a 30 coupe about the same condition as yours, I've drove it a few times. Seems like a lot going on for no faster than you're going, everything's a bit sketchy and it takes a while to master it. V8 flattie sounds cool, maybe with a 5 speed Tremec behind it.
Without a doubt EVERYTHING seems a little sketchy when driving a Model A but it's so much fun! Flathead will probably end up with a toploader 4 speed but a Tremec would be cool too.
@@mybusinessonly1557 early 31 did not have indented firewalls. The indented came out in April of 31. They changed to indented because PA would not allow the sale of the vehicle with fuel shut off inside the car so it had to be moved to the outside.
@mybusinessonly1557 it's my understanding that the indent firewall was very late in the 1931 production. My car engine serial number dates the car in mid April just before the indent firewall began.
@@fairlanes4ever even though it was introduced in April it probably didn’t hit the sales floors until July and August. My car is a early May 31 production and has a shut off in the cab.
My 29 was about in that condition when I got it nearly 50 years ago. I restored mine but I think your car will be fine just cleaned up some, it sounded great when you started it. It looks like it has the original fan which gave them problems when the cars were new. They are dangerous to the radiator and anyone standing near it as they can fly apart. I would replace it first chance with the solid aluminum one that looks like the original.
The slant windshield was introduced in 1931 but only on the Vicky, Cabriolet and 3 models of the Four door sedan. All the rest had the flat windshields

Nice car, I believe the all metal sediment bowl
was early 28/29 and the glass bowl was later on 30/31. Complete car to start with

I have the correct cap but I kinda like this one. Think it goes with the character of the car. Thanks for watching!

The sediment bowl was standard on the car. I have a 31 Tudor as well
Thanks. I've seen a few like mine but not many
Firewall not indented at sediment bowl. Not a 31? I thought all 31s were indented. Someone please comment.

Thanks. I plan on changing the fan for an aluminum one soon.
Also is windshield slanted? 31 were all supposed to be slanted. Someone please comment about this.

Keep it original. It sounds so good; It's just an ugly duckling. They're only original once.
Amazing right, they just keep on running. Awesome
