Fightstar - Behind the Devils Back. A 10 track album which I really like! It didn't do well on release tho
it's not metal/metalcore, but for me one of the most underrated albums of all time is 'Say Hello to Sunshine - Finch' - so ahead of it's time.
Mirrors by Misery Signals. MS just doesn’t get enough credit in general and doesn’t get talked about nearly enough, Controller by them is my #1 metal album🤘🏼

Hollow Crown is my fave Architects album - absolutely love it
That first spirit box ep is the best thing they’ve ever done, and I’m not trying to hate on their new stuff cause it’s good too, but that first ep is so unique sounding. The Mara Effect is perfection.
Next: Great albums from mid bands. We all know a band that has a great album, but the rest of discography is at best mid.

Hollow Crown is my favorite Architects album, There Is A Hell is BMTH’s best album and I think holds up so well it’s would make a top 10 list if it was released this year
Sleep Token's One & Two EP's. I'll never forget Spotify recommending them when Jaws came out and when I went back to these EP's i absolutely fell in love. Still some of my favorite songs by them.

Beauty of suffering, Perennial and Trustfall are literally my fave songs EVER even after the album and fear of fear
I agree with these albums being severely underrated, but as well, I feel that First Born by The Plot In You is a record that people don't really talk about at all. Awesome record.
That band is crazy talented and I feel like in general they get kinda slept on. "Happiness in Self-Destruction" is god-tier for me

When I first discovered Bring Me, my entry albums were TTS and There Is A Hell, so I'm very happy when people are talking about the second one, cause it has a special place in my heart

I reckon it’s the more punk/hardcore influence which really made it pop more than Ruin before it (though that’s still a great album) 🤙🏻 Great drive and energy
The Spiritbox EP and their singles Blessed Be and Rule of Nines was peak spiritbox but their new stuff is still amazing and is miles better than other bands trying the same thing
Atreyu - The Beautiful Dark of Life (2023) full of sing along bangers! But I think with the departure of their frontman and the 3 eps that lead up to the album put a damper on this albums hype. I absolutely love it.

The self titled EP from Spiritbox and especially The Beauty of Suffering (the end of the song 🤌) is what got me hooked on them. I was underwhelmed when they released Eternal Blue
The dark pool by Thornhill will always be the most underrated album.
Heroine is far more underrated than The Dark Pool, I haven't heard of one person who dislikes TDP

Disambiguation by Underoath is insanely underrated
For real. Electric Cross from Spiritbox is a layering masterpiece on the bridge when we’re talking older stuff.
Node is still my favorite Northlane album, I feel like they took the Northlane sound and they mushed it with Karnivool and something amazing was born, actual fing progressive metalcore
Incredible picks, when talking about underrated albums from great artists, two that would come to my mind first would be Node and There Is A Hell
Blessed With A Curse is still my favorite BMTH song, whereas my fave Northlane songs are Animate and Soma, both from Node album
Oh cool I didn’t know you liked Thrice! Had no idea they were so influential either
I'm only a recent Northlane enjoyer and my introduction was their single Dante I gave Obsidian a listen to afterward and maybe only liked one or two songs initially then couple weeks later gave it another listen and was like damn this is good and just enjoy the entire album now. Same with Alien. They just blend electronic music and metalcore so well there's not really any band I've listened to so far that compares to their unique sound.
In Elegance and Red Eyes are some of my favourite Architects songs to this date. And I had exactly the same experience with Node. While at first listen the album didn't do much for me, when returning some time later I really got to appreciate it.
So cool , I've actually been revisiting Node like crazy last two weeks and realised how fucking great that record is! Mesmer is very good as well. Hoping they'll visit Sweden soon again.

I think I still hold the first Spiritbox EP the highest too tbh, even tho I've enjoyed everything they've put out really. Bleach Bath is one hell of a banger!
The beauty of suffering is one of my favorite Spiritbox song (just behind Silk in the string, Rotoscope and Angel eyes)

Bleach Bath is Courtney's least favorite song they've released but it seems like they might be bringing more of that prog inspiration back on their next album based on interviews. Would love to see if they can blend the old sound with the new "poppier" stuff that made them blow up.
Yes! I love T.H.A.N by Architects, They are my favourite band and still to this day the only time I've seen then was at small festival where they supported D.E.P where Greg came out for "year in year out" and I was like oh, that him who is the other vocalist on the record!

Daybreaker by Architects is way too underrated. Sooo many great hooks, riffs, lyrics, and melodies. Too many to be overlooked 🤘
Also love Ruin too, and Hollow crown of course. Wasn't aware that Hollow was so underrated though.

I first came across Architects when they supported Sikth during their Ruins era. Sikth were definitely a big influence on the band, but they stood out like the odd band on that tour. Hollow Crown saw a massive shift in their popularity and the genre, in the UK. They went from a support band to selling out club shows across the country. Here and Now was generally hated by the fans but holds up great today. In my biased opinion, these are their best albums.

Leech is amazing as well, with the whole "underwater" effect they added to the production
To this day Belcarra is still my favourite Spiritbox song. I like alot of their newer stuff but that song just hits different.
Speaking about Architects, i agree with you 100%. i'd say "The Here And Now" is the most underrated and HATED record. They wanted to try something new with this record. Something more post-hardcore-ish. And the name of the record speaks for itself. But sadly, audience didn't accept this new material and the band had to choose another path. That's actually a bit sad but nevertheless i like that they are doing what they want now and it sounds like they are not forced to do the same album over and over.
Spiritbox: Self-titled is 10/10 (Belcarra made me love them, hate Holy Roller and would choose Cellar Door/Angel Eyes over it)
Architects: Hollow Crown - All Our Gods 10/10

UØ: Ø (disambiguation) is their best work.
Slipknot: Iowa 10/10

They said angel eyes is OVER holy roller and I couldn’t agree more. Holy roller is stagnant in my opinion.

BTBAM - The Great Misdirect imho often doesn't get the recognition it truly deserves. As Parallax II and Colors (I & II) are the ridiculously amazing records they are, TGM often gets overlooked, even though it has this amazing storyline (lyrically and musically), which makes it a great adventure to listen to from start to finish!
I miss the mathcore sound with architects. Here and now was good, but not the same. When they went proggy, it made sense. I really liked amo, it hit me at a time and place. The first 2 CDs with Marcus grabbed me the most; rot was so damn good. Disambiguation felt so mature when it came out. Early spirit box just always hit; bleach bath is so catchy. Not metal, but Coming Home by new found glory. The CD was too mature for the audience they had at the time, and then it hit a few years later when we grew up.
I was introduced to Architects with Ruin, BMTH with This Is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For, and Northlane with Discoveries and Singularity.
Can't listen to anything new from either band sadly. Their older stuff was waaay waay too good.
All of Spiritbox's pre-Eternal Blue stuff is severely underrated IMO
More of a rock album than metal, but Crossfade - We All Bleed. They came back dark, heavier, and sober, and the last song is an 11 minute progressive rock song. Whole thing is good and got super slept on

Renacer by Senses Fail would be a good pick! That album was awesome, and heavier than all their other stuff.

Mesmer too! The more I listen to that album the more I become convinced that its some of their best work, Render and that chorus they only do once in Savage go so hard
One album I’m surprised not to see mentioned, mainly just because of how ridiculously massive the band were, is Linkin Park - A Thousand Suns. I genuinely think it is better than both Hybrid Theory and Meteora even if you couldn’t really call it a metal album.

@matildagreene it's not a "heavy" record like the people wanted, but it's a heavy record that I think a lot of people really need to deep dive into emotionally
@@geminisolace153 oh for sure, the people don't know what they want anyway. If they were still releasing stuff that sounded like Singularity in 2017 people would've started calling them tired and played out. Even still there's some heavy bangers on Mesmer, like Zero-One and Render

I was trying to be cool and pull a crazy album but I think Minutes To Midnight by LP is underrated. People don’t like it because they started to incorporate pop and stuff but I think that album is super strong especially lyrically
Minutes is the 2nd best LP album in my opinion right behind metrora of course.
Metallica - ‘Kill em all’ is their best album. This might not be too unique of an opinion, but I will die on this hill.
Bring me the horizon have done nothing but go where the wind blows and treat music like a business their entire career. I would definately not consider them overrated. Architects have decided to do the same. Spiritbox I can take or leave but I wouldn't really call any of em amazing unless you want to say that they're amazing from the business aspect of music. Yay.
Do not agree as far as BMTH goes. I believe they have stayed true to their instincts and created what they wanted to despite what the fans wanted. Kinda the same way slipknot has handled their career.
Sorry but i have to disagree about Northlane. Imo they will never ever do better than Singularity and Discoveries. Adrian was the GOAT and i can not take the mew material at all. Even if i try to take it as a completely different band. I just cant. Northlane was my favorite band back in the days. Maybe that's why i cant take what they do now.
Probably gonna ruffle some feathers with this one but Marcus was the best thing that ever happened to Northlane. The stuff with Adrian is very underwhelming to me and nothing special
It's not just the vocalists that changed. The instrumentals have changed dramatically with Marcus's introduction as well.

@@ensco7 Most of the instrumentals for Node and Mesmer were written before Marcus joined the band, so him joining has nothing to do with the change in sound

I used to not care for The Here and Now but now it’s the album by them I come back to the most. It’s an amazing album.
