Parents ruin kids sports!!!!! Plain and simple.
I coach U8s Football and see this every game, not just at the ref but parents balling at the kids, Parents at Grass routes are the biggest problem to your Childs development - I dont care if we Win, Loose or Draw as long as when the kids come off and they enjoyed themselves and had fun playing a game of football with there friends - the comment from the Ref, its not about you its about them is 100% Spot on! Well handled Ref ⭐⭐
I coached 21 years from U6 through U14 and also saw and heard things like this. Some parents think that everytime someone falls and hits the ground a penalty should be called, and as you know that's not always the case!
I’m so happy my parents were never like this when watching me play. I remember seeing the dad of the captain of our team squaring up to the ref after a game. So embarrassing.
The ref was in the right up until the end. Even if she blew a kiss, you absolutely cannot blow one back. And then he ended the game bc the husband didn't like that. The situation was handled, and then the ref needlessly escalated it.
Something like this happened to me I was playing sunday league when and their coach was swearing to the ref and to our players. The ref was not even the one to stop the game their coach was the one he said to his team to just get of the pitch and go home just because he thought the ref made the wrong decision. The game then ended deep in the second half.
Maybe, we don’t know what had already transpired before this moment. If he’s already asked them to be quiet, and he’s already warned them a second time, then it’s absolutely time to send them from the field.
Hilarious - these parents want to visit the UK and watch some Sunday league football (sorry, I mean soccer!)...lol... Ref was spot on - although I think Id have been tempted to reply to the fella when he shouted "thats my wife" with "so sorry - you have my condolences".

As a ref (and all love to the ref), he could have handled the situation more professionally. Not saying he should have to put up with that, but that’s not how you handle it
Except he didn't keep his cool. His actions caused an escalation of the events not de-escalation. He should have never said anything to the parents and just continued to ref.
Good for the Ref - I used to (as a coach) ask this type of lunkhead , if they wanted to do anything useful for the Club ie help us out etc - then you'd see them run for the car park!
I used to manage a training ground for a professional football team, we had several youth teams that played there and a youth development team. Parents were regularly reminded that their behaviour could directly impact their child’s ability to move upwards within the club. We always encouraged them to be present to support their team and to reinforce what our coaches were teaching the players, but they were also totally aware that the only people to talk to the ref and the players directly during a match were the coaches, touchline bans were uncommon but they did happen. Your child is very unlikely to become the next Ronaldo but if you disrespect the ref or the coach then you guarantee they won’t be, mouthy and opinionated parents don’t get far at pro football setups.
Experience something similar in the uk, not quite to this level. A mum disrespecting the referee ended that parent told she wasn't allowed back to watch her daughter
Not really, u have parents bitching about a clean play, I’d probably do the same. In fact I may even ask these guys do they really understand this sport.
If it’s all about the kids like the ref said, why did he cancel the game so easily. It was all about the ref. The parents were clowns though, you get that.
This all starts because the The parents don’t know what they’re talking about. Referee handled it just fine. These people are so entitled and they’re so embarrassing to their children.
Really? Do you know the rules at this level? Same the world over, my son played when he was young. So much bad mouthing by parents, and unrealistic expectations of their childs abilities. Rather than allowing them to get good exercise regardless of the result.
I’m a referee myself, and while I can certainly sympathize with him here, this never should’ve happened. He could’ve just let play continue, ignoring the parents. His next step would be to have the coaches deal with the unruly spectators, including removing people if necessary. This was, in my opinion, absolutely the wrong way to handle it.
This is not a foul. Just parents with little kids who see something like this and think it’s illegal. But the ref blowing a kiss to a parent was completely unprofessional and unacceptable which caused everything to get worse. Dude needs to grow up
I play rugby and there is a team we sometimes play against who's parents treat it like the world cup final and try to tell the ref what to do. I was so glad when the ref told them to shut up.

I wouldn’t say that, we’ve had soccer for a long time and it’s obviously just picking up steam here in the states recently but these are just idiot parents making idiotic comments
ok but the ref didn't have to blow a kiss
Yeah surprised that not many comments here are pointing that out. Ref blowing a kiss to the Karen as she was leaving was dumb and unprofessional.
@@gamblemadman Maybe but we can't see if they did anything towards him as well. Him blowing a kiss was alot better then shouting curses back in front of kids like they did.
@@jonathangille8643 He said something that sounded like she blew him a kiss and he was responding to that.
@@Doomclowndoesnt mean the ref should do it
nah, that's just funny
“aint gonna call that? thats cool” yeah it was a clean tackle 😂 the kid fell by himself
He completed a slide tackle and then kicked the ball while he was still not yet up from the slide tackle. Two illegal moves ignored by the ref. I would be pissed, too. This is how kids get hurt.
@@MatthewM217 What? Do you make up your own rules? 😂
It was all fine, until the parents started.
@@MatthewM217 You have no idea what you are talking about. There isn't a rule against "playing on the ground". The slide tackle was as clean as they come. Clearly, you are no better than the ignorant parents thinking they know the rules and can do a better job. Go get your license and give it a whirl, I dare you.
Those kids in those goals!!
There is no football match without a ref:just a kick about.
Number 14 on yellow is no doubt the parents' kid.
100%
That's my wife?. Well get a bloody divorce then.
These children (the parents) r setting a great example for the kids. Absolutely embarrassing.
I've been a hockey coach for others people's kids for well over 20 yrs....honest opinion, the parents should stay outside the facilities so the kids can enjoy the game, refs don't have to put up their abuse and coaches can coach without all the outside interference. It's all the super dads that think they know best the ruin things and the moms who think their children are entitled to special treatment. All the armchair coaches (dads) who undermine the real coaches hard work.
Parents need to clap for goals and saves and not say anything else to anyone at games....parents who behave like this should be ashamed of themselves....and if they think they can do a better job, put in the time to get qualified and let some ppl yell at you!!!
The same parents enable their children to become bullies at school.
I would be embarrassed if those were my parents😂
It’s always the ones not playing that have the biggest opinions …
The Ref handled it TERRIBLY!
Maybe, we don’t know what had already transpired before this moment. If he’s already asked them to be quiet, and he’s already warned them a second time, then it’s absolutely time to send them from the field.
He was doing really well, right before the kiss thing.
So many times that the adults are more childish than the actual children
Ref was wrong to lol, along with parents
Most mature people here were the kids
Parents are worse than the kids... Great role models 😮
Times like this when you feel more bad for the ref than the players in a soccer game
Hilarious - these parents want to visit the UK and watch some Sunday league football (sorry, I mean soccer!)...lol...
Ref was spot on - although I think Id have been tempted to reply to the fella when he shouted "thats my wife" with "so sorry - you have my condolences".
american parents at football matches is peak
You should see them at gridiron games.
Always the yanks. They have too much to say. It’s a kids game FFS
Bruh acting like they're not stabbing each other and stomping skulls into concrete in European games 💀 plenty of videos of that crap on the internet. But no, it's only the yanks who behave bad IG
Youre telling me people in europe dont act this way? At least we dont throw bananas at the black players you freak
"Always the yanks". Mfer is acting as if the British aren't complete hooligans too at times.

When the dad started talking (shouting) the thing that came to my mind was "America, f* yeah" from Team America
That slow motion dive at the start 😂
Great job
There was no call to make
And stop finding fault with what the ref did - he likely had a gutful of these imbeciles all game he didn’t do anything wrong.
Mad respect to the ref for keeping his cool
As a ref (and all love to the ref), he could have handled the situation more professionally. Not saying he should have to put up with that, but that’s not how you handle it
@@X-Calibur101 ye it was all good for me until he blew the kiss. kinda weird
@@mrerectrobot The woman blew her kid a kiss as she left and the ref took it as she was blowing him a kiss...unprofessional as hell though.
Parents were idiots but the red wasn't much better.
I love how he got so offended after shouting abuse at a ref in an U16 match 😂
Yeah that’s not U16…
U13 or U10... no way this was U16
“I thought this was ‘Merica!”
Enter Batdad.😂
Experience something similar in the uk, not quite to this level. A mum disrespecting the referee ended that parent told she wasn't allowed back to watch her daughter
Ref is a bit of princess to be fair
Everyone has a breaking point. Clearly this was his.
They aren't professional referees -they are humans who will react.
And it's just kids playing.
Not really. He got soft at the end but those parents were annoying af.
Not really, u have parents bitching about a clean play, I’d probably do the same. In fact I may even ask these guys do they really understand this sport.
If it’s all about the kids like the ref said, why did he cancel the game so easily.
It was all about the ref.
The parents were clowns though, you get that.
Former ref here. Glad he told parents to calm down, we all loved “it’s about them”, BUT he lost authority by engaging further and blowing the kiss.
kid waiting for the throw in enjoyed ts way too much 😭
Can't imagine watching their parents act this way is very fun for the kids.
This all starts because the The parents don’t know what they’re talking about. Referee handled it just fine. These people are so entitled and they’re so embarrassing to their children.
Really? Do you know the rules at this level? Slide tackles are banned in the US at the U-13 and under levels....ALSO Playing the ball from the ground is too and should have been a penalty indirect kick...which is what they were pointing out to the ref when the ref started to get his ego bruised for being called out.
@@Plasmastorm73_n5evv no the hell they are not...
@@Plasmastorm73_n5evv Go home Karen
@@Plasmastorm73_n5evv wrong on both points, which makes my point. Your understanding of Laws of the Game is like that of most soccer parents and is a major reason why we continue to have problems
@@Plasmastorm73_n5evvi’m u13 in the us and they allow slide tackles
That kind of parents are one big reason why children dont want to go to practice or do any athletics
Decency and class have left the building in that couple.
An inability to recognise where they are and behave accordingly is pure ignorance, selfishness and down right embarrassing.
The parents need to learn what a perfectly clean slide tackle is
My kid's local league banned slide tackling, heading, and even JUMPING (for the girls), to "protect" them. Meanwhile on the next field, boys the same age are smashing each other wearing helmets and shoulder pads, and girls are doing flips and being thrown about in the air.
Make it make sense.
Top refereeing there, he kept calm and controlled the situation well. Hope Karen and Kevin were banned from attending all future matches, their son was probably so embarrassed.
Uh no. Ref was just as bad as the parents.
The parents making it about them and then trying to turn it around 😂😂
Did you ever notice it's always the mothers, leave them home to do dishes or make lunch.😮
0:47 hey that's my wife don't you dare, lol💋💋
the way the ref did that though🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No ref violated them💀
0:52 that’s my f…. wife 🤣🤔🤪🤪🤪
Who, with self-respect, will admit that it is their wife who stands there and pretends to be insane. ;-)
Same the world over, my son played when he was young. So much bad mouthing by parents, and unrealistic expectations of their childs abilities. Rather than allowing them to get good exercise regardless of the result.
Those two parents are all class. I bet their kid doesn’t play anymore, just so they aren’t embarrassed by their own parents. Sad.
The few times I've seen a coach called to tell a parent the rules, that's sufficient.
This is not a foul. Just parents with little kids who see something like this and think it’s illegal. But the ref blowing a kiss to a parent was completely unprofessional and unacceptable which caused everything to get worse. Dude needs to grow up
The dumb mom blew him a kiss...and he simply reciprocated.
Face it, the parents suck.
That is Randy Marsh getting at it again.
I play rugby and there is a team we sometimes play against who's parents treat it like the world cup final and try to tell the ref what to do. I was so glad when the ref told them to shut up.
ngl the ref overreacted to the parents initial complaints, it wasn't that bad he could've easily ignored it and continued
I've been in this situation as a ref and even though you have the shirt and have done the courses they still think they know better. It's about respect and people these days don't have any.
Swearing, bullying parents....nightmare
That type of tackling polices itself. Clean, but rough. But that’s football. Fight back cleanly within the laws of the game. Ref was 100% in the right here
I’ve done ref voluntarily when my boys were younger and have heard similar, no person should endure such treatment
This has happened to me before and the ref left the game with 15 minutes left to play. Luckily we were winning 2-1 but I would be furious if I was losing and the game ended early
The slide tackle, as some have said, was done perfectly. Have so far played for 57 years, 12 of those at the highest amateur mens level. Ref was both correct in his call and a fool for how he handled it.
Their kid will be an outstanding citizen!
I grew up in the country where the most dangerous people were the quietest ones. Usually a dog that barks doesn’t really bite .
the fact that it was a perfectly fine slide tackle and the kid just ran into him 😭
Great job ref. Your not out there to take that crap.
My dude did 4 f bombs in front of a little league soccer team💀
Ref had an opportunity to set an example on camera.
Almost managed it. Almost.
