I am a ref. Parents should never treat a ref this way (though the ref did not handle it great either, should not have mocked them). Also that was not a foul the blue player got to the ball long before the yellow one and the slide was not reckless, careless or dangerous.

At an ECNL tournament last year in Washington, the police were called 4 times during that weekend because of parents following referees back to their cars wanting to fight them. the parents only see money, money, money... as i was young, you could live as a profi footballer quiet good... for example only beckenbauer, müller, hoeneß and co could live good, but a normal football player had to work after his career... but today a 18 year old player without one game played as a profi is richer than a beckenbauer after nearly 20 years of profi football.. and that made the parents crazy, because all think their kid is the new messi with an earning from over100 million per year...

I've had opposing parents verbally attack my son like he was a grown man. Sideline behavior is at an all time low, there's a reason refs are quitting in record numbers, the reason you have to wait 15-20 for your match to start at a tournament because they have golf cart refs around from game to game because there are not enough of them to go around!

I witnessed something at a baseball game that really gave me flashbacks, and this video does it too. I had a mom that would not shut up at games. She would talk to me through the fence with advice, not just cheer.
Sat next to this mom of a collegiate summer league player who was both ignorant and annoying. Example, he starts an at bat watching an outside changeup for a strike. She goes SWING THE BAT! FASTBALL RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE, EVERY. TIME. YOU KNOW THIS!
Lady doesn’t know what she’s watching or how difficult it is mentally, and she never will. But she’ll damn well make sure her son is successful by yelling at him.

I've been a hockey coach for others people's kids for well over 20 yrs....honest opinion, the parents should stay outside the facilities so the kids can enjoy the game, refs don't have to put up their abuse and coaches can coach without all the outside interference. It's all the super dads that think they know best the ruin things and the moms who think their children are entitled to special treatment. All the armchair coaches (dads) who undermine the real coaches hard work.
Parents need to clap for goals and saves and not say anything else to anyone at games....parents who behave like this should be ashamed of themselves....and if they think they can do a better job, put in the time to get qualified and let some ppl yell at you!!!
Parents ruin kids sports!!!!! Plain and simple.

I used to manage a training ground for a professional football team, we had several youth teams that played there and a youth development team. Parents were regularly reminded that their behaviour could directly impact their child’s ability to move upwards within the club. We always encouraged them to be present to support their team and to reinforce what our coaches were teaching the players, but they were also totally aware that the only people to talk to the ref and the players directly during a match were the coaches, touchline bans were uncommon but they did happen. Your child is very unlikely to become the next Ronaldo but if you disrespect the ref or the coach then you guarantee they won’t be, mouthy and opinionated parents don’t get far at pro football setups.
