picked up a bottle of batch #11 at total wine for $75. the scent has a deep sassafras or licorice note, like root beer with less sugar. It's also got a little bit of chocolate, freshly mowed lawn, oak and spice. It's my first whiskey over $30 so I can't wait to try it tonight!

I have all of Frey Ranch, including their quad malt, and the SB (distillers reserve) are the only ones worth hunting IMO.

I got a Total Wine and more Norcal store pick. My new favorite bottle in my collection. I love the grain forward start then I get a chocolate malt finish. Sooo good!!! Cheers

Just too grain forward of an aftertaste for me. I wanted to like this bottle, love everything about the company and what they do, and won't give up on it, but the grassy note just takes over. I even made an old fashioned with it and that grassy aftertaste was there.

I think the bottle we got had a little less of that note. But their regular 90 proof is where I get that note for sure.
