I actually really like that Rem allowed Subaru to love Emilia. It's clear he loves Rem, too, but just in a different way and I like that they show there isn't just one girl who can ever get close to one guy, but that a person has several different relationships and that that person's friends/loved ones respect their decicions (no matter how much a lot of us disagree) because that truly shows their dedication and love for that person.

honestly i wont say he could solo everything. Realistic speaking one on one. Kobold lord and Gleam eyes could be soloed, but there are bosses you just cant solo in SAO. Still i agree Kirito is a generic run of a mill MC. Whose fate i wouldnt ever care about. Honestly, i cared more about the side characters than him. I want to see klein the noob and his adventures with his friends. has they explore the dangerous world of SAO. i want to see agil, as he begins his first days has a merchent who tends to rip others off noobs while providing good items to the frontlines of SAO. Of course, now the author is making progressive, a reboot of regular SAO. In a way its better, and its worse. Better characters and story but it has a worse atmosphere and its overall too light. Not that i thing it sould have more despair. But its a death game, despair is something you sould regulary experience or atleast the fear of death. So that you can enjoy those peacefull moments like a thirsty man on a desert who just got a cup of water. Sorry for the long rant, i rather like to talk about flawed stories and how they could be better XD.

Well the way it depicted Rem getting rejected is a little off. Normally even if a girl is as caring and considerate as Rem she would still feel some degree of sadness yet she still seems happy that he doesn't favor her romantically. It makes no sense.

So she feels no pain in knowing that the love of her life, the first person to ever make her feel this way out of anybody in her life, (currently **wink**) loves someone other than her. She may have readied herself for that kind of rejection but thinking about hearing it and actually hearing it are two different things. People experience these things differently, yes. But for an actual, realistic reaction she would feel some sort of sadness. In the shot animated she looked like she was happy that he loved someone else, which is a very odd reaction that isn't normal. Especially for a girl that's 17.

Rem is best girl and I will tell you why she is in my opinion: Rem could have gone with Subaru, she could have had him, but that's not what she did. She loved the energetic heroic Subaru who fought to save her and because she loves him she knows that he wouldn't have been happy with it. He wouldn't have been the same person. She gave that up herself and talked sense into him. People keep blaming Subaru for dumping the best girl, but it's also Rem who decided to give up on having Subaru for his very own sake. This last episode showed us what true love is in my opinion. True love is not the same as possessing a person. She decided to support him for the things that would make him truly happy, because that is what true love is. Wanting happiness for the person you love. Wanting to see his/her smile. That is also what Subaru is trying to do for Emilia. (In a sense Rem might be even for Subaru what Subaru is for Emilia ) "If you like a flower you pluck it. If you love a flower you water it daily. Who understands this, understands life" ~Buddha This is what distinguishes Rem from a yandere and will always make her better than one of them. She fights for HIS happiness and HIS sake instead of dwelving in possessive thoughts like locking him up just for the sake of her own happiness. She already did it in the episodes before, when she sacrificed herself for him. This is true selfless love. And in a sense what Subaru is trying for Emilia (though of course he has also the lingering hope of being together with her this is not his first motivation). Her reaction after him telling her that he loves Emilia was simply epic. It was not this jealous possessive love that so many other characters have *cough* yandere *cough* but a selfless love that truly loves him and wants HIM to smile, to see him happy. And even though it hurts her to give up on that imaginative future with him - as we can see - it would hurt her way more if he wasn't the Subaru anymore that she loves and if he wasn't truly happy. Because she really loves him she wants his happiness and not her own. However this great character of Rem could have never been revealed if they got together or would have fled. This selfless true and non-possessive, but pure love is one of those aspects that clearly makes Rem my personal favorite character from this series - as of now.
Personally I don't follow re:zero, but I can't stop listening this song, absolutely the best song of the summer season imo~ I thought you'd play this song in a really sad a super tragic way, but I was wrong, btw great job!

All the people complaining about how Rem is better because without her Subaru would just give up, while Emilia is the one who saved him, helped defeat Elsa (if she wasn't there, they wouldn't survive til Reinhart came), she healed his minor wounds, brought him back to the mansion and provided support for him (how could you forget the lap scene) so without Emilia he would be still looping or just a homeless guy on the streets
Yeah. I don't forget that. Emilia is nice and kind, she's a decent character and all that but part of the reason he was in this slump was because she abandoned him. Whatever was happening in Arc 2 was nothing; Subaru is far more messed in arc 3 than he was arc 2. Rem's healing scene was far more powerful, far more impacting and just better overall.

"Emilia is the one who saved him" I have to disagree with this statement. Emilia certainly helped him at the very beginning, but by no means did she save him. If anything, Subaru's obsession with her as a result of wanting to start a new life "from zero" is what got him to the depressing state he's in throughout most of arc 3. Emilia certainly did heal his minor wounds, but it was more out of obligation to someone who helped her than actual selfless kindness. Not only that, but it was Beatrice who actually healed his fatal wound. What little kindness Emilia has shown and *SPOILERS* will show to Subaru has all been out of sympathy, NOT empathy.
Well, it's not like I disliked Emilia, she is gentle and good. Rem is just way better C: Mainly since we got to see her a lot hanging around with Subaru

Better characters and story but it has a worse atmosphere and its overall too light. Not that i thing it sould have more despair.
But its a death game, despair is something you sould regulary experience or atleast the fear of death. So that you can enjoy those peacefull moments like a thirsty man on a desert who just got a cup of water.

It's kind of shocking how accurately this show describes emotions, especially depression.
Well the way it depicted Rem getting rejected is a little off. Normally even if a girl is as caring and considerate as Rem she would still feel some degree of sadness yet she still seems happy that he doesn't favor her romantically. It makes no sense.

So she feels no pain in knowing that the love of her life, the first person to ever make her feel this way out of anybody in her life, (currently **wink**) loves someone other than her. She may have readied herself for that kind of rejection but thinking about hearing it and actually hearing it are two different things. People experience these things differently, yes. But for an actual, realistic reaction she would feel some sort of sadness. In the shot animated she looked like she was happy that he loved someone else, which is a very odd reaction that isn't normal. Especially for a girl that's 17.

Rem is best girl and I will tell you why she is in my opinion:
Rem could have gone with Subaru, she could have had him, but that's not what she did.
She loved the energetic heroic Subaru who fought to save her and because she loves him she knows that he wouldn't have been happy with it.
He wouldn't have been the same person.
She gave that up herself and talked sense into him.
People keep blaming Subaru for dumping the best girl, but it's also Rem who decided to give up on having Subaru for his very own sake.
This last episode showed us what true love is in my opinion.
True love is not the same as possessing a person.
She decided to support him for the things that would make him truly happy, because that is what true love is.
Wanting happiness for the person you love. Wanting to see his/her smile. That is also what Subaru is trying to do for Emilia.
(In a sense Rem might be even for Subaru what Subaru is for Emilia )

This is what distinguishes Rem from a yandere and will always make her better than one of them.
She fights for HIS happiness and HIS sake instead of dwelving in possessive thoughts like locking him up just for the sake of her own happiness.

This is true selfless love.
And in a sense what Subaru is trying for Emilia (though of course he has also the lingering hope of being together with her this is not his first motivation).
Her reaction after him telling her that he loves Emilia was simply epic.
It was not this jealous possessive love that so many other characters have *cough* yandere *cough* but a selfless love that truly loves him and wants HIM to smile, to see him happy.
And even though it hurts her to give up on that imaginative future with him - as we can see - it would hurt her way more if he wasn't the Subaru anymore that she loves and if he wasn't truly happy.
Because she really loves him she wants his happiness and not her own.
However this great character of Rem could have never been revealed if they got together or would have fled.
This selfless true and non-possessive, but pure love is one of those aspects that clearly makes Rem my personal favorite character from this series - as of now.

All the people complaining about how Rem is better because without her Subaru would just give up, while Emilia is the one who saved him, helped defeat Elsa (if she wasn't there, they wouldn't survive til Reinhart came), she healed his minor wounds, brought him back to the mansion and provided support for him (how could you forget the lap scene) so without Emilia he would be still looping or just a homeless guy on the streets
Yeah. I don't forget that. Emilia is nice and kind, she's a decent character and all that but part of the reason he was in this slump was because she abandoned him. Whatever was happening in Arc 2 was nothing; Subaru is far more messed in arc 3 than he was arc 2. Rem's healing scene was far more powerful, far more impacting and just better overall.

We can all agree that most of his emotional trauma is coming from his own mistakes

I have to disagree with this statement. Emilia certainly helped him at the very beginning, but by no means did she save him. If anything, Subaru's obsession with her as a result of wanting to start a new life "from zero" is what got him to the depressing state he's in throughout most of arc 3.
Emilia certainly did heal his minor wounds, but it was more out of obligation to someone who helped her than actual selfless kindness. Not only that, but it was Beatrice who actually healed his fatal wound.
What little kindness Emilia has shown and *SPOILERS* will show to Subaru has all been out of sympathy, NOT empathy.
