I missed kind of these bottles in WTA . I missed Aga and Caro. Their tennis was soo entertaining. But now it’s all about the hitting hard. Not so fun :(
Indeed. Up a set and 5-3 serving, it was Aga’s for the taking but she played her worse serving game of the match and up again 3-1 final set and lost her way a bit. These two did play 2 more times within a month of this and Aga won both. Key for Aga was getting in lots of solid first serves and staying aggressive. She did that in the other 2 matches.
They were so evenly matched! Aga could punish her forehand more effectively and Caro had a very reliable backhand down the line, Aga had better hand and volley skills and I think first serve was even but Caro had a better second serve. Aga did better on fast courts especially grass while Caro was happiest on higher bouncing hard courts. Both had the ability to turn up offense and both too often relied on their defensive skills. Both were also incredibly quick and clearly they were always very good friends.
From 3-3 in 2nd set: 2 games for Radwanska followed by 5 games for Wozniacki followed by 3 games for Radwanska followed by 4 games for Wozniacki!? 🤷♂️
I don't like how these highlights are sped up... the movements of racket are too fast... the movements of clapping of audience is weirdly distorted and also the line judges are too fast. So odd
Really? Because I’m pretty sure she beat her twice in a row. The following two weeks. Both in Wuhan and Beijing 2016. It’s like Caro was tired of playing her
caroline has an 11-6 h2h lead over aga lol she won a couple in 2012-2013 when caro was not at her best and at the end of 2016 but caro at her best could usually easily handle aga
Henry M I mean their matches were just pushing with long long rallies, it was basically who was more durable. Marathon runner Caroline could last longer and could close with BH when possible. To me the matches in 2016 she lost was like she was like alright aga you can have these im not doing this shit again

Such a good match. You really feel like Aga should have won... so many incredible plays but couldn't quite string it together.

Aga has better groundstrokes and variety. Woz has the better return and and coverage. Very equally matched.
