- I'm a single mom homeschooling and worldschooling two kids age 5 and 7. We spent a week in Guatemala travelling through Central America. We visited Antigua, Lake Panajachel, Pacaya Volcano and Guatemala City. See things we learned about Guatemala and Central America history, people and foods.

It's wonderful to afford to your children to be part of a different world, where live different people, with different customs and different religion, different food - all of which they accept with open mind to everything that's new to their world. Xetulul, Xocomil, Lake Atitlán, and Río Dulce in Izabal are nice places for kids who like playing with water. However, if you enjoy shopping, there are some nice, safe zones in Guatemala City as well.
