Jon Venables Is "Ticking Time Bomb!” | James Bulger's Father Says Murderer Should Stay In Jail

  • The dad of a murdered toddler has reportedly begged the Justice Secretary to let him attend the parole hearing for Jon Venables, saying, "I know he will kill another innocent child".
    James Bulger was two years old when he was snatched from a shopping centre in Bootle, Merseyside, three decades ago. The abductors - Jon Venables and his friend Robert Thompson, then murdered him.
    Venables, now 40, will go before a parole panel on November 14 for a two-day hearing.
    Ralph Bulger joins TalkTV's Jeremy Kyle and Nicola Thorp to forward his concerns.

    So let me get this right, he tortured a child, then murdered that child, he was then released and given anonymity , he then reoffended 4 times and is now up for parole? Where is the logic, where is the justice, where is the concern for our children's safety? The parents of this beautiful innocent baby boy have received a life sentence - Venables must never, ever be allowed back into society!

      Absolutely should never have been allowed to reoffend, its disgusting. I remember poor James. My daughter was a year younger. This case has always upset me. His poor family, my heart breaks for them.
      Why should the tax payer pay for his anonymity and why is he allowed to leave incarceration and reoffend. He can't be rehabilitated, it's not possible for him to be rehabilitated, that's a proven fact.
      Why does our justice system let good people and victims down? Why does it continue to benefit the evil criminals? I'm lost for words. They should rot in Hell for all eternity. They shouldn't be forgive for what they did. I can't forgive them, why should anyone else. I Hope James's family get what they are hoping for and they deserve to claim some peace

      It's not about being "cured" more "rehabilitated" or learning to control themselves.
      The legal system is for sure flawed but I feel for those who work in it.
      Ideally the legal system is fair and balanced. In principle everyone deserves a second chance. And the sentence matches the crime but how can that apply when every case and individual is different. It's a land mine.
      There's guidelines in place that determines whether someone can be locked away for good without the chance of parole, how long they should get for a crime etc. Possession of indecent images while obviously very disturbing isn't one of those crimes which is why no matter how many times he get arrested for that specific crime he will always be given the opportunity of parole......that's not to say he will always get though......but possession of indecent images in of itself isn't enough to be denied the opportunity of parole. And they can go against the guidelines. They'd get taken to court and lose. Not because people disagree but because they have to follow the guidelines. As bad as it may seem these guidelines are absolutely necessary. Because they create the nearest thing to a fair and balanced system.
      Very sad but the only way he gets denied parole is if he hurts someone by which point it's to late

      True but those in the legal system hands are tied.

    • @Padraigp
      @Padraigp 7 місяців тому +6

      @rhyschadwick3269 theyre hands are not tied. There are rules and regulations yes but those are not set in stone a judge has an ability to decide if somone has bene rehabilitated or is still a threat to people.

      @rhyschadwick3269 7 місяців тому +1

      @@Padraigp The rules and regulations are set in stone. That is exactly what they are and what they are for. A judge can't sentence someone to 5years in prison for a crime that has a max sentence of 3years.
      Further more a Judge does not decide if someone is dangerous or not or if someone is guilty or not. They are a neutral 3rd party there to make sure proceedings are fair. And pass sentence based on the rules and guidelines available to them.
      The police look for and investigate crime, the cps prosecutes crime, the judge oversees proceedings, the prison service manages convicts in prison the probation service manages convicts outside of prison.
      The system is flawed but works and has rules and guidelines for a reason. Possession of indecent images is not a crime that warrants a parole hearing under normal circumstances. The reason he's getting a parole hearing I imagine is due to his original crime.

If there's some sense they want to eat babies then you may not be in prison but you'll sure as shsit be in a mental health high security facility. He'll they dont even let depressed people out of mental health facilities when all they have done si take overdose of paracetamol... the judge may not be able to do that alone or sentence someone to some arbitrary time above what the law allows but when somone is into abusing children there is more than one judge involved. And if its the case that the law does not have any way of holding people then tell that to all the people incarcerated against their will for zero crime at all being sentenced upon them.

I think it hit the entire civilized society like a rock to your heart , everyone wondering how could two young boys could have done this . Secondly I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences for your incredible loss to James parents and siblings . As far as Jon Venables is concerned he needs to rot where he is . He was given the opportunity to turn his life around like the other fellow did but he chose not to , he chose to continue to do horrific things , why should he be given another chance to get out and do it again , and believe me he will do it again . This evil is in his DNA and he will continue to offend and hurt children . I used to work in the mental health field looking after youth with various problems , believe me when I say I unfortunately met a couple of brothers who were young teens at the time that scared the crap out of me , they had tried to stab their adoptive mother .prior to being removed from their home . They were removed from the group home setting because of the concern staff had for their safety as well as the other youths .

    As a South African, this story has always haunted me. I agree " Life for a Life..." Give this father the opportunity of being alone with this sadistic killer to be placed alone in a 3mx3m room... so justice can be truely served and he will never again have the opportunity to hurt anything, let alone anyone, ever again. I know God's word says never an eye for an eye, but in this case it was completely different... My entire family had been praying for you for over 30 years... and we will never stop. May His power and strength, filled with wisdom and grace fill you now.

    That poor, poor man. He looks like he's just about holding himself together and is a very strong individual to be still standing. There is no damn way that he should have to be in front of the media explaining something that is absolute common sense. Have he and Denise and their extended families not been through enough? He has to sit there, doing his best not to cry, to warn others that Jon Venables remains, and will remain, a serious danger to children?
    Wasn't Jon Venables diagnosed with ASPD once he reached age 18? I remember reading that, a comment made by someone who breached Data Protection, many years ago. That's not curable. It's a severe personality disorder (not the same as something like a mental illness like schizophrenia, for example, which responds to medication and psychotherapy - most schizophrenics are NOT violent, btw).
    We cannot have someone like this roaming around society. Please.

      I agree with everything you wrote apart from the aspd part.
      My son has aspd however this is due to his autism. He is 23 now and was diagnosed when he was 8 years old after going through 5 years of assessments before being diagnosed with high functioning autism, ADHD, ASPD and Tourette's.
      He has never talked about or shown any interest in hurting anyone let alone murdering them. He is more a danger just to herself when he has his meltdowns .As part of my son's autism he just does not understand how to empathize so I do not think aspd has anything to do with this case.
      Jon is an individual who has a very twisted and sick mind and there is absolutely nothing no one can do about it apart from keeping away him locked away to protect Society.

    Those two young murderers should have been kept in the juvenile detention centre till they were 18 and then moved to an adult prison to serve a 25 year sentence for murder.

    I simply cannot understand how Venables has not been given a full life Tarif. He has shown that he cannot be rehabilitated. The system has utterly failed the people of the UK. I cannot imagine the pain James’ parents suffering. Each time Venables is granted freedom only to reoffend they must relive this nightmare.
