Not a mom but I love your channel! I am also in law enforcement but took a very much needed break from it! And am ready to get back into it! I’m 24 and came from truck driving! I just had a oral board interview with a department but they told me they couldn’t go forward with the process and I was one step away from being hired! I have a pending speeding ticket they said I have to take care of! I was sad but I’m still pushing and succeeding!
So helpful! I ended up applying to local department kind of randomly before knowing the process, now I know I need more time to become physically prepared and it’s pretty awkward that I applied already since it will take me awhile to get back into shape for the test...
@@copmom911 thank you for the encouragement! I am so motivated to work hard on fitness and meet the requirements! I just had my second baby 6 months ago so it’s a good time to be setting new goals!
The postpartum period is soooo challenging! And not just losing weight, but getting back into shape! Esp depending on your delivery...let me know if you have any questions or there’s anything you want to know! 💙. And keep me updated on your progress! 😃
@@copmom911 thanks! I am starting by fixing my ab separation and endurance walking/running then going to move into building strength especially for the specific testing exercises

PT base line requirements for a female (example: 5'4") is different from a male (example: 5'4"). They'll all to do the same scenarios, activities, and workouts, but the expectations in performance are different due to physiological differences between the two genders. They are NOT graded the same. I'd highlight that because it is very important. Other than that..love the video. Gave it a thumbs up.
Yes the expectation and reality of performance levels is different for everyone, especially when considering different genders. However, what I meant here was that the PT testing standards required to be hired as well as graduate the academy process are usually the same for each candidate. At least with the requirements I have details on! I appreciate the thought!
@@copmom911 Thanks for the reply and I understand. I guess my concern is... at least on most channels.. the officers (especially female officers) stress that everyone has to meet the exact same standards to become officers and that's not always the case. Especially when it comes to the overall burden of performance on women vs. the overall burden of performance on men. There is a big difference. Thanks for the clarification. Great channel.
Lying in law enforcement is horrible and a No No! I have a misdemeanor traffic ticket that isn’t serious but I put it on my application with my first department and they asked what the details were and they accepted me for one because it wasn’t a major offense and I told the truth so there’s that! It always tells you on the application to be truthful that not all things will disqualify you! I have 4 accidents on my driving record within 2 months one was at fault and the other three was not at fault! Most departments don’t look at the not at faults but rather at faults!
Can you please comment more on if you’ve noticed how the public treats you as a female police officer? Do you also feel like do you get respect from your fellow officers?
Hello Cop Mom. Thank you for sharing the wealth. I'm retired military. Was considering LE but I'm 47 y/o. Did you have any people in my age group at the academy? If so how did they do? Stay frosty out there!
We did have a few people around your age in our academy! They were extremely in shape and did as well as the younger recruits! If you really want to do it, I think you should!
@@copmom911 Thank you for your prompt reply. Please stay alert out there. No such thing as a routine call right? 😉 Do you still work patrol or have you moved on to a different dept? Narcotics/ vice, robbery etc...
I am currently in patrol, but am hoping to move to a more challenging or investigative unit at some point. My ultimate goal is to learn and understand every unit within my agency so that is going to take me quite a while 😂
They are insane they wanted to see my medical history and come into my house and required me to give them bank statements and credit cards also needed the last 12 years of job history and dental record. They needed to put cameras in my house for a week before hired never again!
Hey, what do you think about explorer programs? Do you think they show a good enough example of what it's like on the field? (Also does it give you an advantage for getting into an academy?)
Oooh, explorer programs are awesome! I did a very long internship within a police department and it was the best experience for me. It showed me the good, the bad, and the ugly. You just gave me the best video idea! You are wonderful! 💙
Also, may I ask for some tips on what are some good internships or explorer programs? I was hoping on going to the CHP explorers program in the next year or so.
And if you don't mind me asking what was the hardest part of the academy for you? was running hard for you because I'm worried about running? and push-ups
I withdrew from a department because i knew i wasn't going to be able to pass the fitness, will my name still remain on the list for next time they hire or for other dept?
Yes, my jurisdiction has a few! And we deal frequently with the LGBTQI community. My agency is extremely welcoming to everyone. Our insurance benefits can also include gender reassignment benefits.
My agency does not have an age limit, however some do. We had a recruit who was 48 in our class and she did great. I also had a friend who completed a police academy in his early 50’s. He was in great shape and completed the PT without issue so it just depends on the individual.
eh, All good and all, but still unconstitutional. In fact, I would venture to say that the U.S. Constitution doesn't provide for a "police force" in the sense that we think of it, and as such - our modern thinking on the subject of law enforcement doesn't really comport with the U.S. constitution.
I am not planning to be a police, but I still watched the video. Good luck anyone applying!

Some police departments in Ohio will consider a person with a felony expungement if you’re eligible to carry a firearm.

It depends on the agency...did you ever reapply with them?
Is it easier to get into law enforcement now in 2021?
Yes, I will be discussing this in a little more detail in my upcoming video
How do I start the process ?
Just click the link to the application (for many agencies)!
Hello mam can you help me for new form application
I would complete the application to the best of your abilities! Do you have a specific question?
Can i become an officer in the usa if im British?
Yes I believe you can with the proper paperwork, I would check with the specific agency you are interested in applying with!
