What would you like to learn about canopies? Comment below!
I'd like to know the main difference between a Skydiving Parachute and a BASE Parachute
Im currently on a PD Spectre (7 cell) 190. I love my canopy. It has great openings and flies nice and flares great.
Thanks for sharing!
I have a Spectre170 and feel the same way!
I know nothing of skydiving byt would like to.i saw that round ones cant be steered but i see videos of people were the ca opy gets twisted easily etc.is there a certain type pf parachutes that are the safest?
@@bengleckl1877 My instructor stated round will get you down, but square will get you there.
I’m a starter in this sport and find your videos very helpful - thanks
Please can you add more pictures to help show what you’re describing. I’m sure the makers of the canopies etc. would be happy for you to display their stuff
Very good point. I'll make another video about that.
I discovered your channel a short time ago and I'm addicted to watching your videos, in the explanations it's clearer several subjects I learned in the classes or coach I've done
A much needed video. Great job Catherine! Blue skies!
People like me are the reason these videos are a blessing I started jumping a stiletto 150 right after I got my A 😬
Just went from a Pilot 188 to a Icarus Safire 2 179 and absolutely love it.
Tell us why you love it. Whats the difference for you? What made you make the choice?
James Doyle that’s easy. Icarus, Icarus and Icarus.
argh100100 the recovery arc on a Safire 2 is shorter then a pilot. My pilot 188 has a grand of sniv and the Safire has 600 feet. Every aspect of the Safire is more responsive than the pilot.
argh100100 600 on the nose for my Safire 2 179 and I’m loading it at 1.3:1
argh100100 sounds like you’re rolling the nose or too many rolls on the tail. Make sure you’ve got the correct
Pilot chute as well.
Hi. Did you ever do a part 2 of this video? I have searched and whilst there are others about canopies I can't find one that is a direct part 2. Thanks
Really enjoying your videos. Considering myself new with only a B license so it's nice learning more about gear
Awesome. What would you like to learn next? Anything you'd like to improve next?
Thanks a lot, very helpful tips:), please mention anything about the skydiver weight in the next video
So you want wing loading explanation?
I already did a video about wing loading but I need to do another one for sure.
thank you, everything is very clear to me.
Killer Video thank you for posting!
Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your videos.
Thanks Pankaj. How many jumps do you have?
Quick question, but I know nothing about canopy design, the cells are open at both ends, at a guess to allow them to fill with air when deployed. It those cells were sealed, and filled with helium, could that be used in either powered or unpowered parasailing?
I do understand that you wouldn't be able to pack it in that state, and some calculations would be required so you don't just float upwards.
But would a canopy with some, maybe all cells sealed, as I have mentioned above actually function properly as a normal parasailing canopy?
Sorry it may not be your particular area of interest, as one starts from the ground and one from aircraft, but I thought you might be the best person to ask as they both seem to use similar canopy designs, and I am so sorry if that is an insulting comment, as I said I know nothing about it.
Just a thought that popped into my head, and if you don't ask, you'll never know 😊
Haha, thanks for your question. Indeed, parasailing isn't my field of expertise, but the canopies are closed at the back so it is the gravity and your weight which keep it inflated. There has been decades of research in canopies so I am pretty sure that having a balloon type of wing has been considered but judge maybe in efficient. Keep in mind that just like a plane, you need forward speed to take off, so this also keeps your wing inflated. But others may have a lot more knowledge on that topic than me. ;)
Hi, Just a suggestion, whatever you talk about, can you please include some pictures or diagrams to make things easier for novices to understand (if you want to). Thanks!
Hi, I live your videos, where is part 2 of the video?
I was just going to ask the same thing... :D
Very informative video but the music in the background was annoying, it would be better with no background music and more example pictures about the canopies and also what about lines? Types of lines. ✌🏻😎
Thanks for the feedback. ;)
❤❤,is my dime
would u talk us about accuracy canopies
Very good mdm ji mdm where u come in India
Where is the second part of this video?
Right Here: ua-cam.com/video/TbBApdzd3ak/v-deo.html
Merci, Catherine. Tu as des retours d’expérience ?
Je nai pas beaucoup dexpwriwnce avec cette voile malheureusement mais je penses que je devrais comparer les brand de voile dans un prochain vidéo. ;)
What canopy do you use?
I have a sabre 2 170. But I am to downsize now. ;)
higher performance canopies for competitions wise
these videos are way to hard to learn
...because she's so freaking beautiful and I cannot concentrate !!!
:P
Esque tu veins du Quebec
300 to 500 jumps lose performance? come on, chatting bit of rubbish here.in desert maybe, in green DZs canopies last 2000 jumps easy
7 hours in sun, dragging a total distance add to Durability
Are you single? 🤪
