In the early '80s, I picked up a piece of a Crinoid stalk (2 1/2" long X 1/2" wide) while hiking in the Sacramento Mountains of New Mexico. I never knew what it was until I finally did some research the other day with further confirmation from your well detailed video. Yes, roughly 40 years to figure it out.😄 I still have it and will check out your other videos.

Glad to see a fossil and learn that a species is still alive today.

lol "May just find a Crinoid Fossil... or 5." I can Never Learn enough, *Thanks So Much!*
Pointing Disc shapes out helps to see Stalks in more of a Reality, even knowing of various shapes.
This is Long - sorry, need to write this, always wanting more info, may help [me] on what missed.
Crinoids are a Life Favorite, always wanted to find them. For Years, Magnifying Glass always in hand, have found in my yard, small clusters of Calcium Carbonate, Diatoms, i Thought - tho few years ago i Looked Even Closer. ... *Crinoids!* (?maybe some Bryozoans?) lol Oh *W0W!*
Found only Parts \Small bits, and of Different Minerals. No single Discs found, yet, still need to ID. Must start learning to Draw, haha, cause what I See, Hours with Magnifying glass, 8|} ~ Just Gorgeous!
Others don't see and think i'm Crazy. _May i just be, that Great kind of Crazy._
But Wait, there's More! 4:22 Just saw That Pink in few spots on one found! this keeps getting better. Have, i think, found Crinoids with their Coating in spots. ? wondering if even found Slug. >>
Look for Video - (name?) - Subject: 'Predators of Crinoids and Bryozoans'. *CHEERS!*

Very good... I used to see thousands of singular segments of these growing up on the farm in Missouri. Any larger chunk of limestone. At that time I didn't know, didn't

I have a picture that resembles that fossil.
But it didn't come from the ocean.
It's about 2 1/2 - 3 inches in length and is solid black.
I googled the photo and it showed me the fossil in your video
