Thanks for the review! I’m debating between this and an electric winch, same idea. I would use mine fairly often, and I just don’t want to pump and pump and pump. Next I’ll see if anyone had a solution to use a drill to pump a jack, seems like it should be fairly easy..i reckon I’ll do the same you did, except I don’t think I’ll bolt it on the trailer, I’ll just weld it in. One less thing to worry about, usually HF hardware is lacking..
@@DereksWorkshopAndProjects people can be so awful. Sorry! I did find a diy drill adapter for hydraulic pump jacks on youtube. I wish they were commercially made!
Thanks for this video. I’m looking at one of these for a motorized wheelchair. I wouldn’t want to drop it to the trailer bed, though. An electric wench will allow me to lower the chair slowly, and safely.
hi I just watched you video, thanks for sharing I've a question ,I intend to use it for hauling firewood from my ground level up to my patio deck through a flip door in the patio. due to the tight angles, I think I will be only using the hand crank, do you think its possible to lift approx. 250 -300 lbs. ? thanks
If you can lower the crane farther while it's not being used, that might put the cylinder shaft all the way into the cylinder so it won't rust. If the shaft doesn't go any farther into the barrel, the rust on the shaft might not be an issue.
just when i though it would be nice to have a crane on my trailer… did you mount the crane to the trailer? do you need any outriggers/support to lift the heavy stuff? nice video. my trailernis smaller. 1500 lb. my target is firewood.
yeah but did you see the release of the weight when turning the screw on the hydraulic jack. That looked really unpleasant. Does the winch allow for a slower release into your transport vehicle or trailer?
Hello , after few year , can u suggest this thing ? Do u suggest the 12v winch instead the manual ? Im looking to install it to move stuff from the first floor thrue the basement. Do u think will be ok for a daily usage?
If you release it slow the hydraulic you can walk over and guide your blade. I noticed you release it so fast which is not safe. If you lift heavy weights like me put something under the crane to stabilize the trailer or truck. Best investment and I like this model of crane because if the hydraulic fails you got the winch
Devices that save you body are some of the most important tools to own. You can buy another crane, you can't buy another spine
Wow, wise words. Haven’t thought of it that way.
Ranch testedin actual time and use! Nicely Done, Very Nicely Done!

Imagine if this was made in USA and didn't fall off a boat from China?
@@jonathantenkely2493 that would be great lol I appreciate either way coming from a 3rd world country. Tools are very rare and expensive

Thanks for pointing out the rust points. I am going to add grease on those points and keep it greased for sure.

Was waiting to see how it is mounted
Just saw your video. Neat idea/project. I’ll be doing something similar. Definitely a body part saver. Thanks again!

I used my own hardware but great idea welding this in cause I had this stolen off the trailer about 6 months afters I installed it! That was a bummer!

Thought about buying one for the just in case moments..... good reveiw✅
That’s why I got it. And just in case comes up a lot. Even more than I thought now that I have it.

Did you put a piece of metal on the floor for mounting, or it just mount to the wood
Thanks for sharing I’m definitely doing this to mine

Good video. I have a question. Where do you get the cap or plug for the jack bottle? Thack you.
I might get one and modify it to where it can sit low and then add the extension to sit higher..
Hi… how tall gets the bloom? At its max extension… btw… very useful your review since I’m planning to use the crane in a similar application… thanks

Could probably get rid of the wiggle where it pivots by just buying a gasket around that size and putting between it and seeing how long it lasts
Nice video
Your cable route over the end rollers is different then the one I received
Sweet im putting one in my flat bed. Should handle a plate tamper no problem instead of lugging a skid steer just to move it off the truck LOL
thanks a lot

Add you one of the badland 2500lb electric winch. It makes this thing a breeze with the remote. Best addition to any truck/service bed.
Good idea
@@DereksWorkshopAndProjects I have to load and unload a lot of cores sometimes so the electric part makes it a lot easier than by hand.
That makes a lot of sense. Would be a good combo for that work.
What kind of jack is used in their floor jacks?
Is it good for engines?

Usually if it happened fast, it was an accident.
Would it be tall enough to load a motorcycle
Crane
Replace The winch with an electric one with a hand held remote. Make life easy.
It was stolen off my trailer a couple years ago, so no longer relevant, but if I still had it, that would be a great idea.
What size are the mounting bolts?
