it is his fault, he didnt have to trip, and if he did, why put his hand out and risk damaging the painting, fall on the floor or on the pedestal, not the painting
Art supplies have always been ridiculously expensive and that's before the cost of labor, BUT even still, the idea that someone can just slap an arbitrary price tag on a painting is ridiculous. Especially since most of the artists themselves rarely see (or saw) even a small percentage of what they say it's worth now. Buying art is basically just mostly money laundering now for the ultra-wealthy.
007K that wouldn't work because it is an oil painting and when you cover oil, doesn't matter if it's the cleanest most clear glass, it will still take the visuality away from it. Putting glass gives the oil a bit of a blurry visuality and it takes away the small details from the human eye to see.
I wouldn't be surprised if this was setup insurance fraud. Get a kid to "accidentally trip" and destroy your painting while you cash out the full value of asking price from insurance.

Kid: accidentally presses on the painting
Inside edition: boy accidentally “punches” a million dollar painting.
@Levi Murphy how old is that canvas? What's it doing on the floor?
@@cefcat5733 I think it's on the wall not the floor.
@Levi Murphy it wasn’t his fist that pressed into the painting, it was the side of his palm

Draco no they will be like who is that boy i dont know him
lol dude you just twisted it😃
Hi Draco
It’s not his fault that people attach such a monetary value to a canvas and oil paints that probably cost less than $20 to make
Art supplies have always been ridiculously expensive and that's before the cost of labor, BUT even still, the idea that someone can just slap an arbitrary price tag on a painting is ridiculous.
Especially since most of the artists themselves rarely see (or saw) even a small percentage of what they say it's worth now.
Buying art is basically just mostly money laundering now for the ultra-wealthy.
@@Alyakismydutchname i'm a art student, i agree, art supplies ate expensive has hell.
Can afford a million dollar painting...
Still had 5 dollars to buy a rope to protect it.
Nihilist lol
came here to say this! seriously, they couldn't do more to protect it? always baffles me when i hear stories of art being ruined. . .
Nihilist hey could at least put it in the glass cover
Copy CAT
He copied my cat
he thought it was super mario 64 and tried to go in the painting
woop lol
woop or he thought there was a secret painting room like in minecraft
woop best comment I’ve seen today
Good job
woop I need to play that game again...
*:)*
You would think, a painting that expensive wouldnt just be in the open... put some glass over it or something
007K a nike surrounding it
nuke
007K ur right they r dumb ass ppl they should of put a glass to protect it
007K that wouldn't work because it is an oil painting and when you cover oil, doesn't matter if it's the cleanest most clear glass, it will still take the visuality away from it. Putting glass gives the oil a bit of a blurry visuality and it takes away the small details from the human eye to see.
Syrtech Putting a hole in a painting also tends to take away some detail.
Next time don't let kids into a museum
Art gallery be like: We have a painting worth *1.5 million $* , lets protect it with a rope.
Seems good
Ken Mendoza lol
True... What's the point of 'no touching' if there's nothing to block it.
From 1.5 Million dollars to 0$ in 1.5 seconds
Ken Mendoza yup XD
that paint just enough worth to protect with a rope.
Imo the value should go up, thats a cool story in another 350 years to tell people why there is a hole in it.
and the art shall be renamed: "To Have Protective Glass, or not to Have Protective Glass"
That’s a cool way to look at it
Yup
Actually that story would be weak as hell
Heh
omg 1.5 mill dollars and dont forget the strong protection of a dollar rope.......
Raja Rahim 😂😂😂😂😂
Damn true 😂

the funny thing is if the protection wasn’t there he wouldn’t have tripped.
How is that rope gonna protect it
MR.Pablo museum logic
why not a glass??
It's not for defense, it's for offense. See what it did to the boy? Because of the rope, he tripped. Nah, jk.
the_bearded_schlub he didn’t do it on purpose tho
MR.Pablo EXACTLY
He didn’t punch the damm thing he fell into it trying to brace his fall. There is a difference.
You cannot fall over something that is almost waist high.He walked into it not paying attention and got surprised. He is an idiot.

The kid was a secret spy sent from the high authorities to carry out the mission and make it seem like an accident. Well played.
Jose Guerrero Seems legit
Hahahahhaahhhaa 😂
wow.
Hahaha
you watch too much tv😂😂😂
I wouldn't be surprised if this was setup insurance fraud. Get a kid to "accidentally trip" and destroy your painting while you cash out the full value of asking price from insurance.
They’re so smart that they put a rope to protect it
nii dai nah, if that painting had a gun this wouldnt have happened.
Mirzaa Akii Nah, just use flex tape to fix it.
whiplash6699 dude True.
Maximilian Mus lol
Maximilian Mus The painting is completely dry
Not trying to judge but arent most 1.5 million dollar paintings surrounded by bullet proof glass 😂??
They should at least put it in a frame lol^^
well something other than a simple two foot barrier that ironically was partially to blame for causing the accident since it was at a low enough position to trip over instead of simply bump into
Zombie Prodigy what does not trying to judge have to do with you questioning something
Cody Biancuzzo Im no museum curator so idk 😂

"We're sure the boy will be more careful next time he goes to a museum"
More like were sure the museum will be more careful next time they want to protect a 1.5 million dollar painting. If I had a 1.5 million painting best believe you would find the "Games" in saw easier to get through than getting to that painting😂
eh, sticky tape on the back, little bit of black to touch it up. no one will know

Weak one.
The barrier was poorly designed, and it was not backed with a supporting structure.
i think the museum did that on purpose so that they could fine an old rich man for falling over
