I'm right here with you. Cool song
Yo!

Among the best of my teen years.
Whos here in 2024 listening to this beautiful masterpiece with me?
Every time I hear this I’m transported back to summer days in the 70’s- being a kid, playing with my friends in the backyard, hearing the screen door slap closed as we ran in and out all day. No A/C, a small swimming pool full of kids. The best of times.
@@trishalamb138 I imagine this in my mind for you. The best of times no doubt.

Summer Breeze released in August of 1972, I was 12, now it is May 2 2024 at 64 I still love this song.
I was 12, too. This song brings back so many memories...
Takes you to a time 😁
I always thought this was a Isley Brothers song. Then I watched Dazed & Confused today and caught this song towards the end of the movie. Learned something new today.
Same for me bro..i was 12 in Algiers after living thé beautiful house we had..m'y Best years
The song really is about family life in the 70s and 80s….. so nostalgic
I just turned 72 and lived the lyrics as a young man when this hit the airwaves. Still madly in love with the woman in my life then and now.
Happy Birthday and many more years to you and your wife.
This is my loves hippie nickname, she passed 2 years ago, our song
I love all of you
I’m in love with that moment an time also😊
Are yo guys still together?
Being a child of the 1970's , this song paints a picture of the simple times in a typical suburban neighborhood. Makes me long for those summer evening when screen doors were common and newspapers were on the sidewalk
I was a kid in the '70's also, though I remember older folks longing for the simpler times of their younger years too!
Same, here... nostalgia; sigh.......@@user-yi6gu8kp2m
Amen--this song takes me right back to the early '70s. I know that it's a cliche for the old-timers (me) to say 'things were better back in the day', but in this case I think they really were. While I'm saddened by much that I see now, I feel profoundly blessed to have been young in the '70s and '80s.
Totally my childhood…
@@TheReallyRealEJcould you guys please share other songs from this time period you revisit?
Hearing this in a convenience store at 3am really hits.
Hearing this while a snowstorm blows through and -25 windchills makes it hit a bit different too.

I'm going to go try it in exactly two hours and nineteen minuets.
As someone who is 29, this is the music my parents love. And I see why it's timeless.

This song is 50 years old, and it still sounds great.
I am part of the NWO and I love this song. The power of music brings us all together.
You are right, quality never goes out of date. Regards
This brings back such good memories... 🤗💕🎶💕
@jmrodas9 only thing that goes out of date is the people's thought of the quality
Yeah because it's beautiful and made for the purpose of beauty, unlike the ugly crap they spit out today for profit that makes people stupid, normalising them to ugliness and ready for the zombie apocolypse of wokeism and 20 second attention spans of twerkers who need soy kombucha enemas and a crying room for safety of their destroyed common sense to howl their uncontrolled emotions into
70s music sounds so natural. Just talent. No frills no effects.. just pure honey gold quality pouring through the notes.
It was pure talent!! if you couldnt play you had to lay out. No autotune to the rescue!! There were real " Bands" !! It was " Real"
Absolutely.
Yes yes ahh 70 ler

True words, from someone that lived in the '70s! I miss those times.

This song is what I call a "deep cut" from the subconscious mind of my childhood. I was soooo lucky to grow up in the 70's!! if for the music, alone. Not everything was good about the 70's but the trade off for this kind of music is phenomenal!
I’m currently looking for all the songs that are exactly as you describe-deep cuts. All of them have tiny grain of memory attachment for me, and I have some kind of trauma based amnesia for decades of my life and music has been one way I’ve been able to recover some.

Back in 1979 I was 15 and Dash Crofts had recently moved to Northridge where I grew up. My friend and I were trying to earn money for trip to Arizona by going door to door asking people if we could wash their cars for about $2. Crofts let us wash what must have been a custom painted Jaguar, but unfortunately and entirely by accident, the Joy dish soap we used ruined his high gloss paint job, which we didn't notice until he came out. He was horrified. He kept saying, "Oh wow, this looks really bad" as he walked around the car. But he was such a nice, gentle guy, he didn't even raise his voice or demand to talk to our parents. In fact, he paid us anyway. I feel really bad about that to this day, 41 years later. Hope he's doing well. The music will live forever.
Hey man, I heard he's looking for you. Better watch out.

really tough, man. hope everything goes fine with him. luck to you,
Hope you two can reunite
Hope it will be well
The thing I really like about this song is that it doesn’t waste its time with pointless fillers in between parts and bridges of the song. It’s a constant rhythm and every second of the song is in a line capturing the feeling it’s supposed to give off, not a second wasted.
That's a cool observation. Don't bore us, get to the chorus!
There’s a philosophy in pop songwriting of having a hook every 7 seconds and this definitely has that.
@@julio_scissors i think you really mean "don't bore me, because of your terrible usage of a songwriting device"
You are correct. And to achieve this you need some level of talent which these guys had in spades. Sadly, they wouldn't get signed by any label today.

@@NickyM_0 @BangTaoBeach Eloquently put!! I agree. I love both versions immensely because they both offer different aspects but still meet on a common ground which is the root to why the song is so excellent. "Summer Breeze" - Seals & Crofts
(Lyrics)
See the curtains hangin' in the window
In the evening on a Friday night
A little light-a-shinin' through the window
Lets me know everything's all right
Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind
Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowin' though the jasmine in my mind
See the paper layin' on the sidewalk
A little music from the house next door
So I walk on up to the doorstep
Through the screen and across the floor
Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind
Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind
Sweet days of summer
The jasmine's in bloom
July is dressed up and playing her tune
And I come home from a hard day's work
And you're waitin' there, not a care in the world
See the smile awaitin' in the kitchen
Food's cookin' and the plates for two
Feel the arms that reach out to hold me
In the evening when the day is through
Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowing through the jasmine in my mind
Summer breeze makes me feel fine
Blowing through the jasmine in my mind

One of the most seriously underrated bands as far as I'm concerned. Let the good times roll...
Came here from tiktok. The oldies filipinos covered this song amazingly 😍
When I was in high school back in the late 70's I had signed up for a science class..."Oceanography". I had specifically asked my school counselor if there was anything offered other than Biology for Sophomores. She said I could sign up for "Oceanography...which I did.
Now the only reason I told that part of the story is to bring this up...the Science teacher who taught it kept a stereo set in his classroom. When we worked on team projects, the stereo would come on. Usually he only played Classical Music...nothing else. We hated it, but no choice...that was all he played. One day towards the end of class the Science teacher had to leave classroom to run quick errand. You would think that one brave student would go up and switch the station on stereo, but no one was brave enough.
However, as we listened and worked on our projects...suddenly this song; "Summer Breeze" came on. Everyone stopped what they were doing and just listened to the song. It was truly a breath of fresh air! Then the station went back to playing their classical line up. I remember someone saying; "at least we got to listen to a "great song for a change." We noticed the clock and it was time to clean up...so we finished what we doing quickly. No one said anything else...and the bell rang. Now every time I hear this song I am transported back to AHS and hearing "Summer Breeze" play on our science teacher's stereo.
Music can transport you
Great story!!!!!!!!!!!!
