The Jesus of Suburbia has a version of himself called St Jimmy that almost destroys him (the whole thing is a metaphor for Billie and his own personal struggles and demons basically), they're two different sides of the same person; "Rage vs Love" etc. In the musical version both characters line up beside each other, are dressed the exact same way, and are mimicking each other's exact moves - and then they both shoot themselves but it's Jimmy that actually "dies" and Jesus is left standing. That whole scene is JoS basically admitting to himself that Jimmy is harmful and it's best for himself to kill that part of himself off because he was destroying himself with drugs and booze and ruined his relationship with his girlfriend (Whatsername) while trying to be something that he's not
