- I needed some more tops to go with my capsule wardrobe but I didn't have much time! I already had the 3 tops that went with my vintage inspired suits - the 'Audrey', the 'Carmen' and the 'Julie' tops so I felt that a few more tops would give me many more options and outfit combinations. Originally, I planned to make 5 tops in the weekend but, as it turned out, that was unrealistic! I like to aim high :-)
I had three different pieces of fabric - a remnant of red cotton with a crosshatch design in white thread, a white floral Liberty print tana lawn and a beautiful red, green and blue William Morris-type print design in Viscose. I designed the tops based on the items I had already sewn so that they would coordinate well with the existing items and also to limit the amount of pattern drafting I had to do. And finally I named them after three vintage film stars like the rest of the items in my vintage inspired capsule wardrobe.

Oh my!!! I love them ALL! The collar on the red is really cute. I've found that I don't like plain round necklines on myself, and that would be perfect for me. I don't know that I'm experienced enough though to make it look good. I always love Liberty, so that one is really nice with the shawl type collar.

Very nice. I would love to see a retrospective of how well you did with your 6 Cs. Did all your necklines and sleeves work with the jackets? Were there things you would do differently? I'm not on instagram so I haven't seen your outfits. A retrospective would give you an opportunity to include a slide show here.

Hen I run into a naughty item, I just quit and sleep on it a few days till inspiration hits. I like the adjusted neckline and it looks so much better with only 2 backdarts.

I always use interfacing in collars, but I use lightweight iron on knit.

The light red cotton is the least flattering neckline on you, all the others are quite lovely. I watched the video of the entire capsule wardrobe and every time that blouse was in the combo, I noticed it.

What dress pattern are you wearing? I like your collar that it has a softer look than the standard pointy collar. Lovely but it looks like you look nice in a lot of things.
