heres an idea that i did and love alot use the harley mini floorboards as highway pegs. if you got big wide feet and you always wear boots, your gonna love it
Now I have a 24 Tri Glide Ultra, but as you say the average person(me at 69) is just going to do slip ons (Tab 4” BAM sticks), Screaming Eagle air cleaner (DK Custom catch can sys), and Screaming Eagle tuner. Not for performance cause it’s a trike but for sound and better engine care. Keep on keeping on!!! Love the channel and the content.
Yep, first thing I did with my 2024 Road Glide was a Clockwork 10” windshield, slip on pipes, Screaming Eagle tuner and Screaming Eagle Wedge air cleaner. Oh yeah, and ape hangers. Gotta have the apes.
I totally agree. I got the 10" right at the end of riding season and just that quick, it fixed almost everything I hated about my bike. Now I just need to fix my seat! My right leg falls asleep. After I fix that, I'll be ready for a cross country trip!
Im soo excited that you are doing this now as I'm going to follow your lead come spring time and get your input on to do's and not to do' s on the way to making this bike a beast. Can't wait
Damn M man - that bike is so sweet !! Love the new WS You inspire riding - your love of riding is contagious I have enjoyed riding more after listening to you and seeing your passion! Thank you
Like the build…something I can do at now 62. For all the crap on HD parts they’re pretty damn good and great to see what you’re doing. Again thanks for this build…it keeps me watching
'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder'. It took three emails, a letter, and a call from the owner of my local HD dealer to get the shop to stop sending me advertisements for all their Harley - Davidson labeled stuff. Love the machine (2015 Road King) but not their jacked up stuff.
Fun video as usual. I'm running pipes, SE Tuner and SE extreme round air cleaner on my 24, and super happy. I'm actually pleased with the Rockford stg2 audio, plus a 9" Non-HD windshield.
Volunteer audio has done a technical analysis of the new stereo setup including figuring out which firmware update to request when going to the Harley dealer. I'm sure the Fairing XChange can do those updates, too. Literally no money spent involved , just knowing what updates from Harley to apply .
I put the 10 inch harley windshield on my 24 RG and it made it to where I can actually hear the stereo. Definitely still needs to be louder but I can live with the stock audio for now.
Contact Volunteer audio and talk to Jay the owner. But they developed and had manufactured the A-B module to be able to add an aftermarket amp to the ‘24. I did his system for the earlier ultra and absolutely love it. It was completely user installed and he provided as part of the kit the module to flash my factory head unit. I love the system. It is all Hertz speakers and amp.
Man, I WISH I had a Gremlin Bell. Always wanted one, but no one has ever gotten me one unfortunately. Kind of a loner too though lol so there's not really anyone to get me one.
Just tossed an entire empire collection on my bike except the grips i wanted something with more texture. I think empire gonna kill it on the whiskey fire n chrome!
I removed the fork reflectors and replaced them with Custom Dynamics lights that also work as turn signal lights and increased visibility on the front of the motorcycle. Mostly for safety reasons but they look good. Just an idea for you to consider.
I like the look of the SG a lot. It has a meaner face. Also, batwing fairings provide better protection in bad weather. In south Florida we run in a lot of heavy run sometimes.
I also have a 2019 Road King. I want to use the Screaming Eagle tuner, however we have to use the older windows only tethered tuner. Since I have many Macs I’m curious to see how you tune Mrs. Monkeys’ uncles bike.
I purchased the same Harley windshield for my 2024 Street Glide before any after market shields were available with plans to change it. It does have a small area of distortion at the curve of the windshield. But honestly it never was an issue for me, so I never changed it. No buffeting and I do really like the Harley Logo on the shield. If you are looking through the small distortion area, you have the wrong height windshield.
@@ProfessionalMonkey Really looking forward to the build because I dont think Ive ever seen a UA-cam influencer do a build using all Harley Parts. Great idea! Beautiful bike!!
I tried the taller windshield - the wind protection was great but I couldn’t handle the visual distortion where the curve is at the top I want a taller windshield that doesn’t have the curve at the top- according to dealer they all are curved at the top Maybe a good after market one.will be available soon .I’m 6’-2” and it distorted the lines in the road terrible
As you briefly mentioned them at the start, I'd love to get a more in-depth opinion on the Sportster. There are plenty for sale in the UK. Would it be worth spending the money on, to get into Harley's?
Great vid....again. Ordered 10" K. Werks little disappointed with the slight distortion in the top bend on the H.D. shield on the other hand don't like the obtrusive brackets on the K. Werks either - to each their own. Maybe consider less wall art and some cabinets might help free up floor space not judging just sayin.
I will say HD stepped up (though I have. RG). Moved the handlebar up, simple mods, Stage II/tuner, heated grips, a new windscreen is all I have done and am happy.
Save some $$$. DK Custom Products dyno’d a bone stock M8, and the same bike with an air cleaner and slipons, and got virtually identical AFRs on both. The stock ECU has more than enough of a adjustment spread to cover Stage 1. No SE tuner needed.
@@ProfessionalMonkey The thing is that the current SE tuner is far from fully featured. The EPA seems to have Harley by the short & curlies. The current SE tuner will accommodate Harley parts from their cams up to their crate motors, but you can't just choose a new AFR down around 13 to fatten it up. An after-market cam on these bikes currently requires an after-market ECU from either Thundermax or Impact Wiring Solutions.
Hey friend, I'd buy you that Trashing Supply belly pan for real, not a performance part but will protect all those wires and hoses under the front there...
I went to install my new guardian bell the wife got me when I was picking up the CVO and the sales guy yelled at me and said that I can’t install my bell myself and that the wife needed to put it on.
I tell everyone dont buy starter bike buy the bike you want. Because i know so many buy sportster for few months then lose there butt trading it back in for bike they want.
Amen. I just bought my first bike and everyone kept saying get something cheap etc etc. I said I am getting the bike I want so I can get use to my bike and look forward to riding it. Just didn't want to spend money on something I don't want and then lose when I have to get ride of it.
If the metal reinforcing plate is installed in the bottom of the tour pack, those wings are not as big of a concern as the plate inside handles the weight. Not saying it’s a bad idea but I’ve been riding touring Harley Davidson’s with tour packs since 1994 and I’ve never had one crack.
The plate doesn’t handle the weight, about 25%of the tour pack is outside the plate. Even my 1980 FLT has a full plywood floor in the tour pack installed by the original owner because it has been a known issue for that long.
@ProfessionalMonkey the factory Harley-Davidson reinforcing plate that goes inside the tour pack is within an inch or two of all the outside edges. As I said in my previous post I've been riding touring Harley-Davidsons with a tour pack since 1994 and never cracked a tour pack. Maybe the aftermarket ones aren't as sturdy?
@@thealien6900 or since 2014, the tour packs have a few inches around the plate. And again, my 44 year old bike has a plywood floor BECAUSE it was a known issue.
