One of my biggest tips I've employed since his rework is just always carrying around a Moose idol on me. Always carry one, if you find spare meat and grass in the field, just make more. They don't spoil, and stack to like 10-20. Basically I always leave base with like 3, and typically come back with either 1 or 5-6 and store the spares
Honestly, you don’t even need to separate the twins with Woodie either. 8-10 treeguards per night, w/ woodie as occasional dps trivializes the fight. I’ve never had this method not work. Monster meat is easy to get, living logs double per treeguard kill, and nightmare fuel is just a trip to the outskirts of the ruins.
perhaps to make the original half of the run easier (and especially make nightmare werepig not a chore) is to take the shadow affinity skill when you start the run, and before you start doing moonstorms by the end, use the celestial portal to initiate the change character sequence. You'll still stay on woodie but you can respec the skill tree, swapping to lunar affinity for when it'll matter most. Might break some solo rules if you treat it as swapping to different characters I guess, but i think its neat, and absolutely different from swapping to wolfgang to murder fuelweaver.
There's a "strat" to not only clear out every enemy in the ruins, but also mine/hammer everything with the weremoose by bringing hutch. Destroy evrey enemy you come across, and then just ram into things to hammer/mine them, punching hutch every 5-8 seconds to slow down your weremeter drain. Not exactly the fastest for speedruns, but still quite useful for general play (in my opinion). You don't need to bring either hammers/pickaxes or beaver idols if you use this method lol I love Woodie now my favorite character for sure
That follow notification during the AG fight was perfectly timed, as if CatPerson themself was staring into the monitor, with a single cry "... Lanternp?"
Glad you're back to making these kinds of videos. Also I was so, so skeptical of starting the lategame stuff because it felt like the difficulty would be unnecessarily unfair. However, what I thought was a departure from Don't Starve's original "feeling", turns out to be the most Don't Starve-y content I've had the pleasure of experiencing in a long time. That artficial difficulty increase that YOU bring upon the world, and the feeling like you have no idea how to deal with anything that pops up but you try anyways. It's exactly what it was like when I first played Don't Starve. In the last long, long while of playing, I've never wanted to survive longer than a year on a server, but with these new updates I find myself wondering how far I can go like in the old days.
I might recommend Uncompromising Mode. I know it has a reputation of just being hard and unfair, but I think that's unfounded. I've gotten pretty used to vanilla DST, and can survive indefinitely with stable food and safety, but UM gives me extra considerations, things I didn't anticipate and keeps me on my toes, having to make do with what I've got and make desperate choices to survive, or daring treks in to hostile territory during violent weather in a bid to continue existing. New concerns with food, mechanics I never used in the base game get a light shone on them, it's just a very interesting new experience.
Me as a total beginner who just started with commands for the first time, killed a tentacle in the caves, jumped into the hole to end up in the ruins. Can't wait to finally be decent enough to return to them also the COTL music is perfect 🤣
Whatching kitties new woodie vid atm; is there a consesus on the META viability of woodies forms? They are all fun now so the baseline is certainly crossed.
Sorry for the late comment CatPerson but if you wouldn't mind me asking, what microphone do you use? Your audio is always leagues nicer to listen to than the starter ads (their content aside too, obviously), I love your voice!
Transformations are his main feature by design, though. Even back when he only had the Beaver. Lucy is just a funny gimmick axe, there's not much more that can be done with a tree chopping tool.
@@RockyLight Back in Don't Starve solo the transformation to the werebeaver was more of a downside than an upside. Lucy would warn you if you chop too much that your curse was incoming. Klei shifted this from "downside with an upside" to just upside. Something I disagreed with but I am just me so I just don't play Woodie anymore.
This was a very interesting and fun boss rush to watch. However... Woodie goes in F tier, along with Wanda, Wolfgang, Warly, and Wes because they can't kill Bee Queen without 5 Pan Flutes.
calling a glitch a way of cheating. ha pathetic, but they use mods, because mods is a modification of the game that goes to their advantage, so who's cheating now?

Woodie was always one of my favorite characters, regardless of how good he was.
I'm really happy to see him get some love with skill tree.
he celebrates thanksgiving at the right time

Love the video, watched all of it, amazing. Klaus chomp attack can dodge with charging in the opposite direction, so it's a really free fight. Ggs!

@@DonnaPinciot True. I love playing public servers though.
Great video! Would love to see a wormwood boss run as well.
Was just about to comment this! 🤩
Great run! Subbed because you label the music you use. :D I wish more youtubers did that.
you could set up some flingos and grass to freeze the enraged dragonfly. So you can fight it with moose.
Me as a total beginner who just started with commands for the first time, killed a tentacle in the caves, jumped into the hole to end up in the ruins.

I subbed because of that cool animation that played when you were talking about subscribing

I dont even play this game anymore but i still enjoy watching these videos lol
Lovely video as always, CatPerson! Any chance you'll do one about Wormwood's new skill tree as well?
Gud music choices laddie
Your commentary is soothing to listen to 😊
What was the music when u were doing the ruins rush after u killed ag, its very catchy and ill like to listen to it in my webber playthrough
Lol, that moose/goose spelling mistake is understandable. Only in Russian Moose/Goose is Лось/Гусь, so we can spell the giant as Лусь)
Nice amount of days. Better than my 256 'speedrun' 😅
Woody has been perfectly balanced this time. I love to play with Maxwell just waiting for it skill tree upgrade.
10/10 video (I'm still in the intro).
7 minutes for weregoose you say?
I guess 7 minutes, 7 minutes is all I can spare to play with you

Yeahh! Woody is the bestest of boys (or male adults is rather say) no matter how much people say he is bad!
you let him kill that beefalo!
Great video, CP!
Please dont ever say that 😭
Big fan of CP!! Great UA-camr
Yess! I always loved woodow! I'm really happy :)
i wished you would have included the terrors below.
aight guys woodie is now the third follower character
YESS! WOODIE VIDEO!
Looks like a challenge character
FF9 music distracting me Cat Person. It triggers my happiness and I can’t concentrate on the video 😂
I dont speak english, but i love your videos!
What a great run!🎉
Haven't goose had ability to fly in the void of caves?
nope :(
IS THAT A NECRODANCER ENJOYER?
banger video as always
Make one with Wanda.
GG very good video
OMG, this is going to be epic! 😍😍
very nice video
Yippee woodie is fun :3
Видео чиловое!
My biggest gripe about Woodie still is that he is focused so heavily around his transformations rather than Lucy.

Bro thinks Retinazer is orange
In DST Spazmatizm is Blue. Retinazer is also not the same red colored.
cool video
Plase more❤😂😊

Why would wolfgang need 5 pan flutes for bee? For that matter, why would wes?
braindead comment, its not the characters fault that bee queen is such a shitty designed fight
