Great run and video Jazz, I like runs that use items from the rifts, either on the shadow or lunar side, as they show a new way of playing, due to their damage and the quests required to get them. And also thanks for the mention, I'm happy that my video helped you, and I'll also let Tarluf know, he doesn't really watch UA-cam haha.
I will never understand the people that say wormwood is only good for farming, like bro has speed boost and a damage boost and tons of utility. He’s an all aarounder
You know it's going to be a good video when the Gearless Thumbnail shows up in your feed. As for Bee Queen strategies, one that I've used before and quite like is building a large cross of walls around the gigantic hive. It uses the same principal as ye old fence maze tactic, where you exploit the difference between the Queen and Grumble Bees' pathfinding to force her minions to take a much longer path to you than the queen. It's not a particularly fast tactic, but it's cheap, simple, easy to set up, and doesn't rely on panflute spam. I will say that it's been a while sense I used it due to me playing exclusively with Uncompromising Mode these last couple years, and with UM reworking bee queen to be a; how should I put this; good boss. But when the WX refresh launched I managed to use this tactic to get my first autumn 1 BQ kill. Actually, that might have been my first legitimate BQ kill in general. It is *very* effective.
We have the Ancient Guardian rework before that changed him from a very cheeseable, if not long and drawn out boss to an amazing boss that's fun to fight and rush. We need that change for Crab King asap.
Is he really that fun though? Sometimes the tentacles are hard to see beacuse of all the rubble, and that can mess up the flow of the battle. I think the fight would be much better without them actually
The left side of Wormwoods tree does offer a lot of utility in both the early and the late game, it just doesn't help with bosses, which is what many players like to focus on. Having a really good, scienceless, light source that doesn't take up any slots from day one is incredible qol. Being able to craft monkeytails from bananas means that you can raid the village biome to set up easy access to honey poultices, which means you get access to good healing that doesn't even spoil to mitigate your chars downside. The carrats are kinda lame all things considered, but they are still cute and they do help to make your early gathering days just a little less tedious.
Hey Jazz Man, great video. I wanted to say that when malbatross is idle and not aggroed on a player, she looks for fish, if there is no more fish in the shoal she will despawn, that's probably why she left.
I actually use it quite a bit! Harvesting bee boxes any time without agroing bees is quite nice, but for this run it was useful having red bees for Crab King that didn’t attack me.
@@JazzysGames Ehh, I guess you do have a point, but Wormwood benefits better from just killing the bees, because more stingers = more bramble husks. And bloom makes it so you can just… run away from any bees you don’t want to kill. I do see your point, though.
15:50 In my long term world, the scrap fences around the junkyard seem to regenerate whenever the broken machinery from Wagstaff regenerates. I did use to hammer them down but it took a long time so I just hammer down the machinery whenever it spawns.
I love the vegetable stinger too! It is my favorite sanity dish regardless of character I am playing :D (Since the new farming mechanics got introduced tomatoes are super easy to get) The only downside I see for the stinger is that (as far as I know) you can only get the ice in winter from the glaciers :( I really hope they somehow make ice more optainable year round. Like a contant ice biome in the ocean or the ice maker from Shipwrecked
Ok so, I try to fight Frostjaw in Winter because after the fight, the entire ice platform breaks down. Think I grabbed like four stacks of ice last Winter. Also, dunno if you’ve played the current beta yet but the new Crab King fight leaves a ton of ice behind as well.
@@JazzysGames I played the current beta, yes. But I lack skill to fight crab king tbh :D I never dared to cause I still die to klopsi sometimes xD Also I never came as far as fighting Frostjaw, it's a bit embarrassing, especially because I technically know a lot about DS(T) from videos and memorizing the wiki articles and I have been playing for more than five years, but I still suck at this game :D
Thanks for the tip! Basically the same idea as using statues or fossils; I’ve done statues on most runs but wanted to try something different for this one.
i think for beequeen you could have used bramble husk so she gets trapped in a spot and not run away so constantly, then swap to mag when you need to run around
@@JazzysGames oh yea i did mean brightshade armor. But yea its still good to do smthn better for the situation and more used to doing. Small side question, do you think youll ever do a boss rush with another person? Ive been seeing lardee do that and its pretty cool :o
Not really a boss strategy but for rushing the ruins you can cast a carrat before going down to the caves for passive seed gain. You can plant them in the caves for 10 sanity per seed. If you have trouble gathering wood you can plant a line of trees and have deerclops knock them down. Alternatively you can plant trees by the nightmare werepig and cast starcaller's to allow them to grow. When you release the pig you can use it's dashes to harvest the trees and give you free sanity for the fight from the pinecones.
@ 2:25 I don't think console players can make seeded worlds or duplicate worlds. It seems like the only option is to create world setting presets but the world will still be random. Unless I'm missing something. Other than that, nice video!
Okay so I particularly haatteee prepping for Celestial Champion and also phase 3 of that fight. I like to play with rifts open though so I'm just wondering what the best helm is without the enlightened crown. I see that you use dreadstone helm when you do not have the crown. Is this what people would recommend using?
Thulecite Crown is suggested for the CC fight since his phase 2 blender attack can one shot you with multiple hits. TC is good for such multi hit situations.
Great vid but i gotta ne hones mid loot is just a life amulet and the antlion stone i cannot stress how many clauses ive killed and still not gotten a sack im on day 341

I have 800 hours in this game and have not seen more than 10 % of what I saw in this video. Kinda funny.

Carrats are a cool idea. And yeah I should’ve elaborated: the reason I don’t like farming wood as Wormwood is the sanity loss. If Bearger is knocking down trees I could plant pinecones to keep up with the drain but it’s just a pain. In a subsequent run I used Armored Bearger in an evergreen forest, then planted pinecones when he got distracted by Treeguards. Maybe I’m just spoiled with other characters that have their own methods.
@@JazzysGameswormwood is an absolute pain in the ass to farm Wood with, even with the help of bosses. I like to gather lots of banana bushes and palmcone trees, not really a speedrunning thing but a nice base thing; Palmcones yield so much extra wood per tree, and banana shakes work in tandem to offset the pain of sanity loss after every tree. Plus, you end up with a surplus of Palmcone Scales which work as a nice fuel source as opposed to wood. I always keep a stack near my Endo fire pit

I don't think anyone noticed that.

how to get this skin on the brumble husk?
The overgrowth husk? It’s a weavable elegant that’s part of the Ancient collection. You can also buy it with the Archaic Attire Chest.
