  • Stories of love are always a holiday classic. And in this holiday film, it’s felt through the heartwarming and sometimes heart-wrenching memories of a classic 1966 Chevy Impala.
Based on actual events, we teamed up with Academy Award winners Tom Hooper (director), Claudio Miranda (director of photography) and Rachel Portman (composer) to tell the story of love, redemption and restoration. Because the greatest gift anyone can ever give is joy. Happy Holidays.

A lot of memories when I was riding in it when I was growing up and me learning to drive in it . Need to do a full restoration on it but too many memories to give it up. This is like a scene out of a movie on an early morning. A guy walks out of his house and down to his barn. Goes inside and puts down a old Christmas wreath on a table and then walks over to something under a cover. He pulls it off and white what lies under the cover a 1966 Chevrolet impala convertible. He walks around the car and then opens the door and gets in and gazes around then he comes across a little photo of a lovely woman who turns out to be his late wife, then he is seen walking out of the barn, by his daughter standing near the front porch and she starts to feel a little emotion, then she is seen walking up to a automotive shop and is greeted by a gentleman and his friends and asks how she is doing and she says well things have been kind of tough for Dad and she says so I was thinking and wanted to one gentleman says your mom‘s car and then she says well. She taught me how to drive in that car. Then the guy turns to his buddies and says, are you up for some night work, then they are seen pushing the car out of the barn up onto a trailer, then the daughter distracts her father, by making a loud noise with the dishes but the dog is seeing barking at the men then the daughter and the guys are seen disassembling the car down and restoring it step-by-step, including a new paint job then, lastly a reprise of the opening scene the guy walks out to his barn. However, there is a surprise waiting for him when he walks into the barn. Suddenly he’s a little stunned, he sees the car, all originally restored back to factory condition like it came off the showroom floor, he walks around the car gets inside gazes around in the interior and then he puts the key in the ignition turns it and the 3:13 engine fires up the smile lits up his face Then he drives it out of the barn up to the house and his daughter gets in and he says thank you and she says it’s what mom would’ve wanted and both of them started have a few tears in their eyes and then he says this is the best Christmas gift ever then he and her are seeing driving off . This is definitely the definition of Chevy runs deep. Sometimes a car is more than a mode of transportation. It’s a member of the family.

They're trying to sell a warm sentimental image of the Chevrolet brand and what it means (or used to mean) to people. I think the ad is beautiful and heart warming, but too many people today are mean and stupid to appreciate such an ad, or anything of beauty. Also, today's Chevrolet's (for MANY years now) have been expensive transportation appliances I can't imagine having any emotional connection to. Not just Chevy, nearly all vehicles across the board. Today, you'd have to be over 60 to have had such a bond with a car which is not most people.

@@austin3789 Well, you posed the question, and feel my reply answered it pretty well. I also implied brand loyalty slightly differently by appealing and/or "'re-appealing" again to those whom they felt needed a reminder to get them back in their 'fold' again. It's very sad that things have degenerated to the point where this type of sentimental ad wouldn't be appreciated; that our culture is soooo far gone and f'd up as to not "get" or be moved by this type of ad. People today (sadly) have to have something screaming at them or using pyro-technics. We live in a time where everything's all over with, but few will say it out loud, but it's very obvious. it's also really an ad for a '66 Impala, only magnifying how far Chevrolet/GM has fallen from 6 decades ago, permanently.
