I really like the folder. I've got both the mako and smaller version. I've always contemplated selling one of my fixed to buy the folder. I feel I would carry the folder more, cause the other 2 I have just sit I RARELY carry them. Lol I had the fox 599 a couple years ago but I sold it cause I have a weird fear of liner locks. But the mako is a liner also 🤷🏼
I have both the 599 and the Mako and have had no issues with the lock up failing me - this being said you will never have a lock failure with a fixed blade. Personally, I find myself carrying folders far more than the fixed versions and the most important knife is the one you have on you!
Hell Yeah!! have you seen the new collaboration with Fred Perrin on the Ligament? A smaller version of the Harpy! Looks like a very discreet ripper for package opening 😏
I thought it would be about the same sIze as my Fox 479 Karambit. It's noticeably smaller though. Still fits my hand well. The action on mine isn't as good as a knife at that price and running on bearings should be. It's a very capable defensive blade though and a good option for when you need to carry something smaller. Thanks for the review 👍
In my experience the recent Bastinelli knives I have purchased have been outstanding such as the Chopper and Feather K… I will have to handle more models to find any issues but so far I have been very pleased!
im torn with the mako folder which has easy concealment and the mako compact that has m390 steel and micarta scales. please buy the mako compact and review it :)
@@tacticaltavern please make a video, scoured youtube on the compact review - zero results haha. appreciate your reply and more power on your channel! 🇵🇭
Great vid. We already discussed my new found appreciation for Bastinelli. It’s officially your fault that I started training with knives. I’m about 37% as good as you with your opening flair. Lol
Bro, you honestly ask the best questions Mad respect! I actually got the grey version first and recently the newer black version… I am excited to take a look at Bastinelli’s new creations this year!

I worry that based on how the grip works one has increased risk of breaking their hand if punching while holding the knife. Anyone have experience hitting a heavy bag while holding this knife?
smith and wesson essentially has the same knife - except theirs is a non folder - much less expensive - has lesser steel but considering the mission profile of this knife - the s and w will last long enough to get the job done
I carry mine every day! It's a fantastic blade and has really sold me on smaller folders.
Right on! 👊🏼🔪
Thanks for keeping it real! I've always wanted a mako fixed blade. 👍
The fixed blade is super slick! 🔪
Again you know my taste, I'm ordering this, my number one source for cutting edge tactical and effective etc, keep em coming mo cara 🇮🇪
YES. I've been a fanboy of both Marcaida and Bastinelli for a long time. FMA ROCK.
Hell Yeah! Me too!
Dude, every time I think about buying a new blade for my collection/EDC, I check out your channel first for a review. Super helpful.
Awesome! Thank you- that is an epic compliment! Happy to help 🙌🏽🔪🔥

I love that it is concealable and deploys quickly - tactical yet functional 👊🏼🔪
Are Bastinelli knives good dependable knives?
Other UA-cam creators show how the folders have lock stick & screws falling out. Any thoughts?

Great knife. I have the fixed version of this.
@@cloudnine8842 Yes the shorter picolomako or the long Mako?
@@tacticaltavern I've got both of those. There's soooo many more I wanna get but there a lil spendy lol
I think I've seen you twirl one of these before, did you pick up that new version 2 at blade show?

I love the Mako design!
Even better as a fixed blade 🔥🔪
Nice review! Buying one now. Thank you 😊

@@tacticaltavern My knife will be at booth 349, if you have time go and see it, I hope you like it
Love that knife, a fighting knife that's also good for utility compare to a standard karambit.
Yes exactly!
Thanks for watching 👊🏼🔪
